This fits my Dremel dog nail grinding tool perfectly. It makes short work of doggy pedicures. So much faster than my previous grinding bits, and it will last a lot longer than the sanding discs!I’m very pleased, and so are my dogs! ❤️ Well worth the price.

I’m a veterinarian nurse and I have been grinding nails with a dremel tool since before “nail grinders” existed! I was thrilled to find this and the thought of not having to change those sandpaper discs made me want to love this. And I absolutely do. I have several dremel tools and an oster nail grinder. It fits both perfectly. The shape absolutely make it easier to keep the toenail entered and my pup seemed much more relaxed with this bit. I could comfortably get to the tight spot between his pad and the bottom of the nails because every surface of this bit is meant to work. I can’t say how long it will last but it is metal and imagine it will last quite awhile. Well worth the asking price for the comfort of my fur baby. The vibration seems to be less and even on higher speeds, as long as I continually moved it (which should be done with any bit) he seemed very comfortable. I’ve used this on my parrot and my dog. In a clinic setting, I can’t say yet how long it will hold up. I will post an update when it has lived out its life and I have to purchase a replacement to give you an idea of how many uses I got out of it. I do have to do my pups nails every week or two because a Frenchie in south florida just can’t walk enough to keep them short. Like most bulldogs, be they English or French, he also tends to carry more weight on his front paws and so his back nails need a lot more upkeep than the average breed or average dog. So far- I love this and as part of the dremel brand, my expectations were high and I’m not disappointed!!!

What a great surprise! I was looking at reviews and didn’t realize this was made by Dremel. Most of the other ones are coming from some no name company in China so its a crap shoot. This one probably ships from there too but at least it has has a quality name to back it up…. It works well, just hope it lasts at least half as long as the 10yr promise…

Great bit for trimming the dog’s nails
Great bit for trimming the dog’s nails. It doesn’t get as hot like the other grinding bits I have tried, so the dog doesn’t mind it as much. Makes it a whole lot easier for the both of us! The nails are trimmed smoothly and the little “groove” in the middle is helpful to keep the nail positioned while trimming. (Still need to check that you’re not over trimming the bottom of the nail to the quick as the view is blocked somewhat.) Works best at lower RPMs – 12,000 RPMs max is recommended by Dremel in the packaging “usage tips.” And I concur with that recco – I try to keep it at my rotary Dremel #2 speed setting, which is 9,000 – 11,000 RPMs. I won’t use any other bit for my dog’s nails.Note: Inside packaging states “not compatible with AT02-PGK Pet Grooming Attachment”. I use this bit with my old rotary Dremel Moto-Tool 395 Type 5 variable speed tool and it works great.

I was sure my dog was going to freak out at the sound of the rotary tool, but surprisingly she was pretty stoic about it, and she tolerates this grinding wheel better than using manual clippers. I *much* prefer using this wheel to clippers, because my dog is a large breed with dark nails and I’m always very worried I’ll cut too far and hit her quicks. This concern meant I left them longer than ideal, and put off the task. Using this contoured grinding wheel is much better because it allows very fine control of depth and I don’t have to worry about hitting the quick by clipping off too much in one go. I use medium speed on the rotary tool to avoid heat buildup. Be very careful if your dog is long haired, as you wouldn’t want hair to get snagged in this thing and cause injury. Also, as with any spinning tool, make sure you don’t have any loose clothing or blankets near the bit that might get snagged. Safety 101. It is definitely slower than clippers, but I feel so much more confident using them, and the nail is left nicely rounded instead of the sharp friable edges that clippers leave behind. I don’t use clippers anymore because this bit works so well. The only issue would be acclimatizing your dog to the rotary tool noise and vibration. Don’t rush the job or apply pressure, just let the bit do the work.
