This has been a good baby monitor to use for my grandson. It was an easy setup. The pictures were very clear even though the screen is smaller than other units. The sound quality was excellent and speaking back and forth worked well also. The range has been perfect with our grandson being downstairs with the monitor upstairs. The charged monitor has lasted a long time. I went over a month without using the unit and the monitor was still charged. The camera does swivel and tilts to good positions. It does not have the capability of the camera being moved from the parent device which is a feature I would have liked. It did come with a mediocre instruction sheet. I could never figure out how to play the lullabies. This is a perfect unit for grandma’s house or travel as it is a probably smaller than my liking if I were using it daily.

Modest price for a decent camera/receiver setup.
This is a great camera for those who have a baby or other need for a monitoring camera when travelling or if they do not have wifi. The camera needs to remain plugged in but the receiving monitor can be operated on internal battery power when properly charged and that is perfect for those who have a larger home/area. The image it receives is quite clear, though depending on the connection can come in a bit grainy at times. Should the light situation be less then ideal or night time, the camera will automatically switch modes and you can still see quite clearly. It is also a 2 way intercom where the camera is broadcasting sound all the time but with the receiver you can press the talk button to respond. I really like this feature.We grabbed this setup not for a baby room or elderly family member but because I have a spinal cord injury and an autoimmune disorder but like to spend time in my workshop. This allows my wife to keep tabs on me without having to run across the yard to do so. It allows me a bit more freedom then I previously had while letting my wife relax without worrying so much about me out there. The 2 way microphone certainly helps as if we need to check something, it is as simple as pressing the button.The camera mount is simple and you can set it on a table or shelf or using 2 screws not quite all the way in to the wall, you can hang it up for a better angle. The receiver has a D-pad for control and a center “menu” button to allow you to scroll through/change the settings that you wish such as the volume, screen brightness/dim, contrast and so forth. The monitor cam also display the temperature of the area in which the camera is located.Range has been quite good. With the camera in the shop and receiver in the house, they are about 200′ apart with no interference and I am able to wander around the yard without dropping the signal. I would say at $39.99 this is a more than reasonable set for the price as well capable. It is one of the smaller camera/receivers I checked out and is barely noticeable just sitting on the shelf like we have it arranged. The receiver can easily fit in your pocket if you are walking around. Function wise the camera/receiver will do everything you need to be able to keep your eyes on your loved ones.

Good Camera
This is a great way to always keep an eye on your baby or anything you want. The audio and video come out pretty good for a baby monitor. I don’t have a lot of space so I don’t have to worry about the range. I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a security camera who doesn’t want to worry too much about the set up process. It is really easy to use out of the box.

Does Its Job, Basically
I was torn on the fact that it uses a parent’s unit, instead of transmitting to my cell phone. However, that connection method is more secure and less likely to be hacked, so that’s good. WiFi monitors seem to be less expensive than cloud-based ones, too.Pros:* It seems to have excellent range. I’m on 1.7 acres of land, with the apartment about 3/5 of the way up from the back, so I left the baby’s unit in the front room, then walked all the way to the furthest back corner. Keep in mind, that is past a bunch of old-growth fir trees, such that I can’t see the house or the apartment/garage at all. Not to mention my bedroom between the camera and the parent’s unit. It dropped from 4 bars to 2, retaining a clear view of the front room.* I really like that the volume control uses a control wheel on the front, not a touch screen; that’s actually faster and easier – and not prone to fat-finger syndrome.* It has two white noise options and two songs, as well as a timer for the sounds.* The temperature it displays matches that of an accurate thermometer I already have in place.* The battery life is good – enough to only have it charging at night, next to the bed.Cons:* The sound quality isn’t great, and it isn’t very loud, even on the highest setting.* The three-level light bar that’s supposed to let you know when there’s noise in the baby’s room doesn’t really work. Like, I’ve had music playing fairly loud right next to it, and the light bar barely registers it.* It’s a fairly basic unit. Since I got it, I’ve seen a couple with more features in the same price range.This basically does its job, but I wouldn’t recommend it for hearing-impaired parents. It might be worth shopping around more than I did.

Worth the price? 3.5/5Would I buy again? 3.5/5We have monitors in our place to make sure that our son is sleeping ok, but we also needed one for his play area. We found this monitor recently and were drawn by the price. Setup was easy, and it’s really just a matter of finding the right spot to place the camera. My only complaints are that you cannot get a second camera by itself yet, and the camera that came with it does not have the function of pan and tilt. It still gets the job done, and hopefully they add more compatible cameras for better use.
