My dogs used to knock over my old trash can every chance they got, but they haven’t been able to break into this one. No more messes, no more digging, and no more frustration!✔ Hands-Free Convenience – The motion sensor is incredibly responsive, opening the lid quickly when I wave my hand. Whether I’m cooking or cleaning, I never have to touch the trash can, making it much more hygienic.✔ No More Trash Odors – The built-in odor control actually works. UPDATE: 1 year and 4 months after the replacement the replacement is now completely dead. Throwing this trash can in the trash can.Junk.Well, I got took. And if you buy this trashcan and want it repaired or replaced, well, then you will have been taken, too. We purchased this, through Amazon, in June of 2020. It worked okay. Sensor was hit and miss. Sometimes the door would pop open with the slightest movement around the lid and other times you’d have to frantically wave your hand over the sensor before it’d open. But, we bought this, really to keep the dogs out of the trash can which required locking the lid with a lever so the whole sensor thing was just something we decided to live with.What we couldn’t live with is 6 months later, at the time of this writing, the lid quit working. Won’t open. Changed out the batteries with fresh batteries and still won’t work. Electric motor was just wore out. But, no problem, they have a 100% Customer Satisfaction Warrant! That you have to request. Okay, we did that. But THEN, we were hit with the “conditional” warranty fee of $10.00. That being the honoring of their warrant was conditional on paying an additional $10.00 in order for them to honor the warranty they provide. And, they they had the audacity to write to us saying, “In the product’s user manual, our warranty service policy states that an administrative service fee of **$9.95** is required. The warranty service fee covers the full replacement cost of your lid cover.”.Can you believe that? You have to buy the product that you believe to be under warranty (from their own product description of “100% customer satisfaction warranty”, a warranty you have to request to begin with (it’s not a automatic warranty) and only THEN is it spelled out the fee for them to honor the warranty. Yeah, we paid it. We want a working product that we purchased.But do yourself a favor and don’t fall for this. And, if you have fallen for it already. Let Amazon know. Let other customers know. Simply put: this is a product warranty scam.
