Totally works!
After moving the litter box to a more obscure location at the back of the house, I noticed the house had an unpleasant order upon entry. Then realized the new location was right under one of the ac intake vents. Added this quiet workhorse directly over the litter box and it completely eliminated pungent, as well as more subtle litter box odors. I actually set up my sewing equipment adjacent to this space and detect no odor from the nearby litter box. Worth the money! But note, the wall brace is a separate purchase, so consider that when placing your order.

Works for smelly cat poo
Bought to mitigate horrible poo odor from litter box that infiltrates HVAC system and invades whole house (small, single story, tightly constructed house). One of our cats has a dodgy gastrointestinal tract (possible IBD) and produces some of the worst smelling poos. Litter box is located in a cozy mudroom that can be closed from the rest of the house, however, when he goes #2, the smell creeps under the door even when closed and also into the air vent near ceiling. It is bad. It can wake the dead. Could probably patent it as a bio weapon.Bought this pricey air filter out of desperation during my extremely nausea-filled first trimester of pregnancy as the horrid smell would wake me from a dead sleep and keep me awake, and I’d have to rouse poor husband to clean the poo at 2am.We’ve only had it a few weeks so far, and run it right above the litter box all day. It sounds like a fan, but not overly loud. Even when dodgy-tum cat poops in the middle of the night, the smell, while still detectable, is now very tolerable and some nights we don’t smell it at all. Curious how long the filter will last and just the overall unit given the price. Time will tell.Worth mentioning we use a sifting box with pine pellets, so poo odors tend to be more noticeable, stinky poo or not. Pee odors were barely noticeable before and now practically undetectable.

After a few days seems to be working
Was easy to set up. When I got it there wasn’t a bracket and didn’t see I could order it here on Amazon. I wanted this above the open litter boxes. I ordered directly from the company and was pleasantly surprised it was immediately sent out and I received within a couple days. I have it running above my kitty litter boxes (two) and seems to doing okay. I still slightly smell litter box odor and I do have another air purifier on the other side of this room where cats stay. However, I am going to buy a few more .. one for the RV .. and two more for ferret rooms. They have discounted price for ordering additional. So I’m going to take advantage of that offer.

I’m a believer
I’m one of those people who reads reviews before buying anything, but never writes them… until now.My cats are prolific poopers. Our litter box is on the first floor in our laundry room. This means that when one of my cats does his business, it very quickly wafts out the door, through the kitchen and smacks you in the face as you sit on the couch trying to watch Magnum PI in peace. I’ve used all kinds of air purifiers, plug-ins, odor eliminators… you name it, I’ve tried it. Nothing has worked. Instead, our friends just make jokes about dropped bombs when they come over. So when I saw the Purrified Air unit, I was skeptical. Skeptical that anything could possibly compete with my odoriferous felines.Well, after 5 minutes of being plugged in, I was a believer. We’ve had this beautiful contraption running for a month and I smell nothing. Nothing but clean air. The true test? My mother, who has an obnoxiously sensitive sniffer. She even hates candles (and who hates candles?). She came over, stuck her nose right near the box and exclaimed “I smell nothing!” Folks, that right there is all the ringing endorsement you need: one from a sensitive-nosed, judgmental, clean freak parent.Did I mention that it’s on the lowest possible speed? Yup. The unit does emit a sound, but it’s a soft, unobtrusive fan. My only regret about this purchase is not discovering and buying it sooner. Bravo, Purrified Air!

Good concept but ineffective
I was going to buy a charcoal filter and ventilation fan that is typically used for indoor plant growing but ran across this product so figured I’d give it a try. It’s a good concept but the fan isn’t nearly strong enough to pull a significant amount of air THROUGH the filter medium. The Charcoal filter pack is very substantial, which is good but it isn’t designed to be a filter. The fan blows a decent amount of air but it isn’t actually pulling most of it through the charcoal bag and therefore doesn’t neutralize the odor. I’ll very likely return this and go with my original plan that is proven to eliminate odor from the air in small enclosed spaces.

This really does exactly what it says. I moved a litter box that is a non standard size and literally just put a cardboard box from a fridge over it and cut a 5.5″ hole to house the filter.The smell elimination works wonderfully and the first filter made it about 3.5 months. You should periodically vacuum the filter, but beyond that it’s a wonderful solution to a common problem, cat litter smell.The only room for improvement, would be to use something besides the plastic screws and maybe some latch style clips, but all in all, that’s the worst I could come up with.The fan is a bit loud but not necessarily bothersome, but in my experience most people aren’t placing litter boxes in quiet places, your situation may be different.I promise to add a pic to do the product justice. As a cat owner, I highly recommend this and hope I can always buy the filters, thanks.
