Great Solution for an Elderly Parent
I got this 2-way WiFi camera for my mom so she could video call her grandkids without having to hold the phone awkwardly under her nose. I also like that I can check in on her when I’m not at home, which gives me peace of mind. The app was easy to download and set up, and once it was connected, the video and audio worked smoothly. We haven’t had any issues hearing or calling through it. The screen is on the smaller side, so my mom had to move it up close on a side table to really see what’s going on, but she can see it. It also has security features, it sends a notification to my phone if it detects motion, which is especially helpful at night. It also has a sound alert feature, which could be critical in case she falls or needs help and I’m not right there. I’m still learning all the features, but overall, it’s already made it easier for me to keep an eye on things and for my mom to feel more connected. It’s cheaper than a monthly subscription life alert system, and it allows her to call out when she needs it. Overall, I think this is going to help my make sure my mom is safe when I’m not there.

This is a wonderfully priced and functional camera that we use to monitor our cat. With both of us working, she’s on her own all day so we can check up on her and check she’s around. The set up process wasn’t bad and I downloaded the app. For the cost, this is an extremely good option for a hobby camera.

Took a long time to get this to work, for some reason it would get through the whole set up and then stop just as it was about to connect. Once we got it working it was great.It’s very silent in movement so you don’t notice it falling you when your moving around. Bright light that turns on when it’s dark and it sees movement so would be a good sensor too. We took that feature off for now though.

Easy set-up and connection via the app. Can connect multiple devices via downloading app and logging on to same account.Quality of image/video is clear and fast in real-time.Camera rotation is also good and night mode. Intercom and voice seems to lag a little but this could be because of my internet connection.Overall, for the price, it’s pretty damn good.Little cost for piece of mind.

For the price, this camera has some impressive capabilities that lend it to a number of different uses.- it can track and follow humans, record the video segment and alert you to their presence.- it has infrared night time (invisible) lighting which gives a black and white video, as well as the option of visible white light (for colour video)- there’s an alarm option for picking up the sound of a baby crying- you can view live video on the app while out of the house, anywhere you have mobile coverage. The live video feed is available on the app and you can pan/ tilt the camera to look around the room (great for keeping an eye on pets while you’re out.)- the app will work even with your mobile locked (providing you enable the permissions on your mobile) and give notifications whenever an alarm event occurs. You can then scroll through the alarms and watch the video segments it captured.- you can use it for video calling with sound, and the video is displayed on the camera’s screen.Sure, the app could be better (it can be a nightmare trying to find the settings you want to change) but with some familiarity it would be easier to use.Setting it up had alarm bells going off in my head- you have to enter your WIFI password in the app in order for it to function. There’s no pre shared key option to avoid giving away your password. For the app to function on your mobile you also have to turn on/off a number of permissions – actually there’s a lot of them. The app did a fairly good job of stepping me through the required procedure to find and change the settings on my Samsung Android mobile- so well done on that point. It could certainly be a bit of a nightmare for anyone who isn’t a bit knowledgeable on tech stuff.I’ve given it five stars as it does some very impressive stuff for the price. The tracking of people across a room, and recording them works very well.We’ll be using it to keep an eye on the pets when we’re out, being able to remotely pan and tilt the camera is very useful in that situation. Plus you can do the video calling and talk to them!
