Very effective!
Adopted two adult hounds – Beagle 3, long-hair doxie 6 in August ‘22. This bonded pair was surrendered to a local animal control facility. While they were healthy at adoption, these two dogs had NO training in their previous location. Not house broken, no manners, no leash or harness experience, fought over food, toys, treats. In the 8 months with us, their overall behavior has improved greatly. Because they were not socialized, they both are very highly reactive to the point of being confrontational, agitated, and frenzied to other dogs when walking, to delivery people at the door, any noisy truck, car doors closing, etc. We had been at our wits end, until a “dog whisperer” suggested the Sunbeam Sonic Egg. The first time we used it at the front door, they immediately stopped barking and lunging at whatever was outside the door. The whole point is to distract and interrupt the undesirable behavior. The Sonic Egg VERY effectively does just that – immediately!!!! Training is still in progress, but now when they approach the door to “investigate” they do NOT react excessively – the command “quiet” paired with the Sonic Egg 90% of reactive occurrences stops the behavior right away. Often if they see me pick up the Egg on their way to the door, they either just bark ONE time (acceptable) and turn away from the door! Of course they are both rewarded with verbal praise, physical attention, play with a toy, or sometimes a tiny treat. The Egg has been used only for reactive behavior. Would not advise using for multiple behavior issues, at least until one target maladaptive behavior is pretty well resolved. The Sunbeam Sonic Egg is definitely worth the investment and the wait for shipping & delivery. We know these two adopted adult hounds want to be and are capable of being better behaved, having improved manners, and understanding boundaries. The Sunbeam Sonic Egg has furthered progress and success for them, as well as for their people!!! Highly highly recommend this product!!!!

Like the reviews say, it does seem to work on some dogs and not others. Not sure why this is. I have 5 dogs, and when I used it when all 5 were present, only 1 dog responded, although when I had another dog alone, he also responded, so it may be more related to which dog I pointed it toward. It has been very useful as a training device. Now when I even show it to the dogs they stop barking. I don’t even need to press the button. And it has a very sturdy construction. Highly recommend.

It confuses my dogs
I did not know if it was working. I could never hear the sound after the initial beep. It works great at confusing my dogs and stopping the barking. I just toss it at them, and they get distracted. It works really well for this, but so would a tennis ball, rock, shoe, stapler, pillow, piano, fiat, grandma’s mobile home, boat, or paperclip. Using the strap seems to completely ruin all functionality. Overall, it does its job.

Works Great … But Not at Long Distances
This was recommended to me by a friend. After seeing how well it worked with her new (small) dog, who was initially a barker, I immediately bought one too. Her dog really responded to this, but without showing any signs of stress when my friend used it. In other words, it did not appear at all that the dog was shocked by this whenever it was used. People cannot hear a thing, but dogs sure can. After she would tell her dog “Enough” and would use it on her little guy if he continued to bark, he would quiet right down. This works with my Brittney Spaniel’s as well. But the only drawback, and this is a big one for me, is that it only works if you are within 15′, give or take a few feet. So for me this works only in the house. When my dogs are outside in our yard, which is when they bark the most, it doesn’t work. If Sunbeam can find a way to extend the range, I would gladly give this 5 stars. I don’t know if this will work on every kind of dog, but it does work for me–and my friend.

Worth the money!
We have 2 mini dachshunds that like to bark alot. We needed something to help curb the inappropriate barking but not to keep them quiet all the time-we want them to bark when it’s important. I had my doubts but figured -if it doesn’t work I will return it. Well I think it works quite well. It’s important to read & follow the instructions. I will say this has stopped or severely limited the amount of the doxies barking “at nothing” that they like to do. It used to be if an ant farted 2 miles away they would bark but since I have used this to break the habit, I have been very pleased with the results. The dogs will settle down if I just pick up the egg. They are starting to learn that Mom has the NO Bark thing with her. My goal will be to just have to carry it & not use it. When we start camping & see more people & animals, we will find out how good it works with them. I will post an update in a few months. I recommend it. I think it helps. If you’re not happy then return it.

Not Helpful
When button pushed, the dog momentarily glanced in my direction but then continued to display badbehavior of biting and loud barking (11 week old puppy). Then repeated use did nothing. Water spritzer bottle worked much better. Next we will try the compressed air thing which has very good reviews and our trainer recommends.

Our talkative Yorkie watches TV and goes crazy if there animals and she really hates bears 🐻We had to get something to try and curb the barking and this works !If she is in the room and barking and we beep it she shuts up but if she is a few rooms away it doesn’t work, but I would still recommend it because overall it does work good

This thing didn’t work on 3 different dog waste of money If I hadn’t ripped the packaging open Accidentally when opening it, I would return it for my money back .If the little one would have worked, I was, i’m gonna buy the full size sonic egg, but now I know that probably won’t work either.

This item had obviously been sold before. The product came in a green plastic bag and the retail packaging was just loose in the bag. The device itself had obvious signs of use. Not what I would expect for the cost.It will get the attention of your dog.
