No staring at cat tootsie rolls anymore – good value, solid build, easy assembly and CAT APPROVED!
Bought for my daughter’s cat. My daughter lives in an apartment and was tired of the “exposed” litter box – had it in her bedroom b/c the bathroom was super tiny, and there wasn’t really any other place to put a catbox. I bought and shipped this to her – easy to assemble, looks really nice, and best of all – the CAT LIKES IT!!!!!! 2nd best of all – the litter box is now contained. No more litter from cat feet in the carpet too! My daughter often leaves the doors open, and then sometimes shut – it’s really nice to have that option. Pretty darn sturdy and cat approved. She has a LARGE litter box in it (he’s a big cat – even at 7 mo) – the opening from the side is not terribly spacious. Kitty doesn’t seem to have any issues – just keep in mind, if you have a Maine Coon or some large breed, and/or depending on your cat (and we know how weird they can be about some of the oddest things) – you might opt to assemble w/o that side panel with the opening into the “poop chamber”. I think it was a good value for the money, and quite durable.

Great cabinet, pretty, keeps dog out of litter box
I bought this cabinet prior to bringing home my kitten, as i have a dog who i didn’t want getting into the litter. I like that the cat entrance is more enclosed, since most of the other cabinets i looked at just had an open hole at the side that i thought my dog would definitely be able to get her head into. She cant get into this box at all, but the kitten can easily. The cabinet is attractive and really doesnt look like a litter box at all. It fits a large extra deep litter pan with room to spare so i could definitely upgrade easily if my cat decides she needs more room.It doesn’t contain the smell at all really but i have an air purifier sitting on top which does suck up the smells within a few minutes so that works out. Its pretty easy to sweep out spilled litter and wipe down periodically and the board lining the entry hole catches most litter that would get tracked out into the room. I keep a rubber litter mat underneath to catch any extra fallout but it really isn’t necessary. I do wish the litter catching board was something a bit nicer, its just a cardboard scratching board and while it does work well, it needs to be replaced pretty often since it gets sort of gross, with clumps of used litter getting mashed down into the holes. I replace it like once a month, whenever i change out the litter but i may try and find some sort of other alternative. Maybe cut down a rubber mat or something.My main gripe is that the magnet latches that hold the door closed are very weak. My kitten was only 3 1/2 pounds and was able to push them open whenever she would paw at the walls. I added a cheap baby safety latch and now it stays closed. So just be aware you might need to purchase a stronger latch of some sort.Overall i really like the litter cabinet, the couple issues i have with it arent too big of a deal to me and the latch issue was an easy fix. Id buy it again.

Looks Great, Definitely Not Dog-Proof
I chose the black and gold litter cabinet. It looks great and was fairly easy to follow the instructions to put it together by myself. Everything was labeled well. Arrived in perfect condition. Feels sturdy and has good heft to it (I did have to unbox it and haul individual pieces to my basement where I put it together as it is quite heavy). Comes with a set of spare bits. The top is strong enough to hold a box of spare litter, the mini trash bin I use for scooping the litter box, and probably a number of other things (maybe a 12 pack or 2 of wet cat food cans, for example). I could sit on it and not feel like it was going to give, so I would say the 110 lbs rating in the product description is accurate.The litter box I got is large with a high open top and fits perfectly with just a couple inches around the top (I have a mid-sized male kitty that likes to throw litter around). So far everything has been well contained and easy to clean.I got this to keep my dogs out of the litter and for that, however, it absolutely fails. Any pressure at all on the cabinet doors has them pop right open, which they figured out in like 5 seconds, so I’m now looking for a latch or different magnet system to keep them shut but still give me easy access (I imagine a couple kinds of child safety locks may work). My fault for not reading the product description closely enough, though, to see that the latch was a “push” magnet, or I may have reconsidered. Even without a dog pawing at it, the magnet latch is extremely weak (and why I subtracted a star), so if my cat happens to bump the litter box into the doors or nudges at them, they do just swing right open. Sometimes they just open on their own. If you like the look of this cabinet otherwise and are willing to make the minor modification, I don’t thing it’s a bad option at all for the price point (I paid a little under $100).A tip: if you’re getting a litter mat (or box) for the inside, either measure yourself or get one with a width (short side) under 18 inches (maybe more like 17.5 inches or less). I went off the given product dimensions since I didn’t yet have the cabinet (so 20 inches on that side, which is also stated as the enclosure size and can’t be both the inside and the outside…) and thought I’d been reasonably conservative enough in estimating the inner space under the assumption that 20 inches was the outside measurement, but wasn’t by at least half an inch and the mat (18.7 inches and one that happened to be in the Amazon “customers also bought” recommendations) does prevent the doors from closing. I have it folded slightly on the inside to make it fit for now.
