I have been struggling with plastic litter boxes for years, stainless steel is the way to go. Clean up is a breeze, nothing sticks and it is easy to sanitize. The sides are high enough to keep litter in and allow larger cats the headroom they need. It does take about 30 pounds of litter to provide an adequate depth.The rubber pads keep the pan in place. They even give a replacement set. The “carpet” was rejected by my cats; it is a bit rough but certainly no deal breaker.

Great litter box
I ordered this because my male cat raised his butt to pee and it went over the top of his old box. This box fixed the problem. It’s tall, wide and big enough that both cats jumped in to investigate when I initially set it up.The lid has a lip that extends down inside the box so pee drips down and stays in the box. It was more expensive than some of the other choices but I was looking to match the size of the litter box it was replacing.

No more sticking litter!
I had an extra large plastic litter box. It was alright, except, no matter what kind of litter I used, it stuck to the bottom and sides of the box once it got wet. It was very hard to clean. I recently started using fine sawdust litter. This stuff really stuck to plastic when wet. Even with 3 cats. Finding this extra large stainless steel litter box was wonderful. I heard it helped reduce the bacteria in cat litter, this reduces the smell. This box is so much easier to clean than the plastic box. The litter will also slide right out when the entire box is emptied and washed out. I just wish it was as high on the sides as the plastic box, in one piece, instead of two. I have cats that like nothing more than kicking litter out of their box. Even with the higher sides, if there is a lower opening, they will kick litter out of the box toward the opening. So, I turned the opening toward the wall. Problem solved. There is plenty of room for the cats to do their business, even my 20 lb. girl. They included some extras I really didn’t need, but appreciated the gesture. This seems like a quality box. It is pricey, but for a cleaner box and more attractive cat box, it is worth it.

Game Changer!
I have four cats, and my life improved dramatically when I upgraded both of my smaller plastic litter boxes to these. I balked at the cost for a long time, but when I finally decided to ante up I wished I had done so sooner. The units are truly amazing, and I don’t say that lightly. VERY high quality. The units arrived with some useful accessories I didn’t expect.My oversized cats finally have enough room to move around without knocking the cover off! Plus, it has a super large capacity. After you fill it for the first time, you won’t have to scoop the litter as often. Stainless steel construction should last indefinitely. Highly recommended.
