The cat can’t hardly resist chasing after this little guy
I love that this little toy is rechargeable so you don’t have to go finding batteries for it all the time. It certainly works to keep the cat entertained for a good bit. It works really well on tile or wood flooring, but also seems to run around fairly well on tighter knit carpet. It probably wouldn’t work very well on a looser or shaggier carpet though since the toy is so light. The long tail is definitely a favorite for the cat, but she loves pulling on the fuzz, so there will likely eventually be some red fuzz laying around. The good news is that it will be easy to find on a lighter color carpet and will vacuum up easily. If the cat ever decides to start chewing on the plastic housing it will probably eventually wear out, but at the moment she is fascinated with the tail and leaves the plastic alone. The wheels have some good grippy rubber on them to give the toy good traction, and the wheels are solidly mounted to the body, so it seems pretty durable. It would be more likely to break getting stepped on than played with. The body is big enough that there is no danger of the cat getting the whole thing in her mouth and having issues, and the tail is long enough to give her something to kick at with her claws, so thus far it is a win all around.

Fun in theory but it just doesn’t keep moving long enough for cats to stay interested
My cats get bored with the same toys. They have a whole big BASKET of toys that they rarely play with. I was hoping this motorized toy would help keep them entertained longer than their usual toys.When it first arrived, I pushed the button to turn it on. Nothing happened. I realized that you had to hard press the button to turn it on. Oops! It came fully charged and ready to go, right out of the package.The toy definitely has its pro and cons…The squirrel itself is larger than I expected. It measures approximately 3.5″. The tail is also super long and feathery, with the feathery part measuring an additional 6″.It’s bright, colorful and hard to miss!It comes with a USB charging cable so you will either have to plug it into a USB port or use an adapter if you want to plug it into the wall to charge it.We have hardwood floors downstairs and a fairly wide open space in our kitchen. We have several kitchen rugs which do cause the squirrel to get caught up at times. However, it does fairly well for the most part. It zooms around – backwards and forwards – crashing into the walls, flips itself over… sometimes it is able to keep going, other times it gets stuck. I do like that it still works even when it flips itself upside down! Sometimes when it goes in reverse, in backs up onto the tail and gets stuck. Other times, it gets wedged in a corner or behind an obstacle (trash can, piece of furniture) and it just stops completely.The charge does not last long at all, only a few minutes, which is disappointing.When it is working, one of our two cats LOVES it. She chases after it when it zooms forward. Our other cat likes watching it but takes off running in fear the second the squirrel starts making a beeline for her, LOL! It is so entertaining to watch!If it came with a cheap remote control for a higher price, I think that would make the playability a lot better. That way, I could control the squirrel and hopefully prevent a lot of the crashes and keep my cat entertained longer. They get bored when it crashes into a wall and just gets stuck there because then it stops moving completely.If you have a nice wide open space without many obstacles, this might work. However, if you have pieces of furniture, thick rugs, carpet, etc, this toy may not work for your cat’s needs. (or yours!)

My cat would tell you, this toy keeps him very entertained!
I can’t imagine this having a low rating, this has entertained my cat for hours on end! He absolutely goes bonkers for this racing squirrel, even meow whines when I have to charge it. The first time I charged it I was kind of disappointed because I thought it died quickly, the second time it seemed to last forever, and every time after! He hides and stalks, chases, carries it in his mouth, puts it in his tunnel & waits for it to come out, puts it in his cubes. It goes back and forth, stops for a bit then starts again. If it flips upside down it keeps going! It goes slow, it goes fast & has no problem going over our low pile area rug too. We even discussed if this one dies we will have to get another one. He tires himself out playing and it’s totally worth it.

Good Concept but Weak Motor and Short Runtime
Toy has an interesting concept – moving squirrel with fluffy tail attracts cats’ attention.Cats do show interest, especially in the fluffy tail when the toy is moving.However, movement is quite erratic and unpredictable.On smooth floors the toy works reasonably well.On carpet it frequently flips over and essentially stops moving.Motor is not powerful enough to overcome obstacles or carpeted surfaces.Runtime is short – toy quickly slows down and stops.Requires constant intervention – need to manually flip and redirect the toy.Only suitable for smooth floors without obstacles.Not recommended for homes with carpets or furniture.Concept is good but execution needs improvement in motor power and runtime.

Cute but the change didn’t last
I really wanted to love this racing squirrel robot for my cats. It is rather cute. The feathers are very fluffy which is something that they really love. However they had no interest in it after about 5 minutes of a full charge it died on me. I recharged it and let them play with it again the next day and the same thing happened so the charge does not last very long. It’s not a very noisy toy at all. I think it’s way overpriced for the quality that I’m seeing with it.
