A necessary part of the safety and protection against ticks.
I like this because it is more or less odorless.I treat those hidden and hard to get to areas on the house where there might be a chance of spiders etc.Just be sure to spray it in areas where there will be no danger of kids and cats getting it in their mouths. It lasts a long time after dried and is effective against most insects.If you are going to be working in a tick and chigger infested area, saturate (or be sure the material is pretty wet) this to your pants, socks etc. and let it dry totally! It will keep the pests at bay and or kill them outright.Don’t apply to cats or get in ware areas where fish etc. are present.I don’t wash my clothes that are treated with this with other family clothing.

Does the job, protects me from biting insects.
I am a mosquito magnet and the mosquitos take all the fun out of my hiking trips so I decided to try this product. It is a good value and easy to apply. There is an online video that demonstrates how to treat your clothing. I sprayed two complete sets of clothing – hiking shoes, sock, long pants, long sleeve shorts and hat. I did not see one mosquito bite on any of these areas. However on my first trip of the season I forgot to put insect repellant on my exposed skin and paid the price. Lesson learned. I am confidant in this product to help protect me and I will use it again in the future.

Demodex repellent and it works!!!
I am suffering from demodex infestation on my body for the past six months. I’ve been washing sheets and everything in sight. I was told this is great to use on things that you can’t wash. I spray it on some of my shoes. I spray it in some of my carpets. I’ve sprayed it in my car and all my floor mats. After I spray I feel no itching. I’ve also sprayed some on my hands and rubbed it on my hands to see if it works and when I do that, I do see some of the demodex roll off. I know it’s not good to put this on your skin, but I wanted to see if it worked. It did not cause a rash on my skin. The smell is not strong so you can spray it on pillows and things in the house and they do not smell afterwards. It works amazingly!!

Takes time but effective
I originally bought this product to treat ticks and spiders in my area. I’ve had the spray for almost 6 mos now and didn’t see much of a difference it was making. That was until I started having carpenter ant problems; they were starting to make their way into the home, and while waiting for a specific ant treatment to arrive, I emptied the rest of the bottle around the perimeter of my property. Not expecting much, but about two weeks after treatment, I look inside one of my outdoor storage compartments where I sprayed around the inside and outside perimeter of the door, dead ants, so many dead ants, one was still in the process of dying. It was so gross but satisfying to see the spray working in real time. I’d recommend this product if you are dealing with any pest issues outdoors. You will have to keep up with it, especially after heavy rainfall, but it does work. Also, be aware of its effect on plants. I had a potted planter of chamomile, and the ants were taking over, so I sprayed the whole thing without thinking. The area that got the most spray is dying, but I’d take a dying plant over being invaded by carpenter ants any day.

Sawyer does a good job, but there are a few issues…
Let’s start with the good. This product effectively keeps ticks, chiggers, and mosquitos from biting me. Last year the effectiveness lasted over the seven weeks that the bottles state. That is with three washings (I know, but I am too cheap to buy more; therefore, I wash the clothing less.) Ticks still get on you since this is not a repellent; however, the ticks that foolishly bite into my knee-high hunting socks become arachnid corpses that I pluck out of the socks when I am done for the day.Now it is time for the bad. Sawyer’s instructions say that you should spray each garment (or maybe it is each side of the garment) for 30 seconds. This is not an aerosol can though. It is a pump bottle. I cannot spray it for 30 seconds straight. Also, the spray nozzle sprays in a doughnut pattern. There is always a dry spot in the middle. As a result, I spray more product on my clothing than what is suggested with the consequence that I only treat two outfits per bottle. (Now you see why I have to be cheap.) An outfit for me is the following: knee-high hunting socks, khaki pants, short-sleeved, but long t-shirt (which I manage to tuck in), and a long-sleeved light weight shirt that I consider my summer coat to keep the enemy biters away.I purchased Sawyer last year and was pleased enough that I bought it again this year. With late snows and much rain, water tables are high this spring, along with ponding water, which means more mosquitos than, dare I call it normal? Sawyer is allowing me to continue my hobby of shooting, not animals – did I have you going? – photos of native flowers that grow in the 180 acres surrounding my house. The expense is worth it
