Product description

Change your Companions Life. The smell of fresh cut grass, warm sun shining on my feathers, a breeze on my face; I CAN FLY.
The AVIATOR is the Highest Rated Bird Harness for a reason. The Aviator Harness is the only bird harness designed to be Safe even for a Flighted Bird. We have the most experience confirmed and tested by over 400,000 birds around the world since 2005. Made in America by skilled Americans. We tried China but found it impossible to obtain the quality necessary to meet our high standards. Our twenty-one production steps, signed off by 13 staff members provides continuous quality control
Good for all species of birds up to 40 pounds (18 Kilo) Custom sizes available.
Healthy acclimated birds can easily tolerate a wide range of temperatures.

Special Design Features
The Elastic Safety Leash is PERMANENTLY ATTACHED because a detachable leash is only good until you go outside the house and your inquisitive bird figures out how to remove it. The Elastic Leash eliminates the SUDDEN IMPACT when your bird flies to the end of the Tether. The Aviator Leash Extensions and Aviator Flight Line attach for greater flying distance.
PRECISE Engineering (+-m 5%) of belt and slide prevents the belt from tightening and squeezing your companion when he pulls on the leash while walking and flying.
The AVIATOR’S collar is designed like a Comfort Fitting Shirt that comfortably hugs the neck and stays on the shoulders away from the wings. The Strong STEEL SLIDE is Powder Coated black to make them unattractive as toys.

Very Light Weight. Smallest sizes are only 6 grams
How exciting it will be when your friend has the freedom to safely Think Outside of the Cage?
Very Light Weight. Smallest sizes are only 6 grams.
Every batch of material is tested. Our custom high quality Knitted-Flexible strap material for larger sizes lays comfortably around the edge of the crop allowing your bird to SAFELY FLY OR WALK after eating. Very Soft Comfortable Ft for all size birds.

1/2 of Production Time is Spent on Grooming Material
Grooming is everything – No sharp edges – Birdsā skin is ½ as thick as ours and easily scratched. The strap material used to make the Aviator Harness is carefully chosen for a combination of strength and comfort.
Welded, not sewn. Many parrots find the stitches attractive and become obsessed with removing them. The Aviator Design eliminates as many distractions as possible. All material is cut and assembled with the Ultrasonic welding process we developed. You will notice there are NO rough edges that can damage a bird’s thin skin.
Beware of Knockoffs. Imitation is the highest form of flattery and we are very flattered. Most knockoffs are made in China. Approximately half of our production time involves quality control to eliminate all sharp edges that can scratch skin, and very close material tolerance so the belt will not tighten and strangle your bird if it flies.

Quality Design and Workmanship
The Aviator Harness is made from high-quality nylon strap material and steel parts. Our challenge is to use materials that are strong and damage resistant, but not so heavy or stiff to be dangerous for a bird to wear safely. This topic is covered in more detail in the package and on the video.
For 20 years we and hundreds of thousands of other bird owners have tried every safe material we could find. We have even tried every knock of our design and have not found anything better. Suitable materials must be able to be made into a safe harness. Heavy material makes it dangerous to wear and during flight.
Some owners use the Aviator every day and when bored some birds do tend to chew on the harness. Eventually a harness can become damaged and may need to be replaced. You can see hundreds of customerās videos on YouTube showing many techniques to improve your birdsā behavior when wearing The Aviator Harness.

Training is Necessary
Most parrots are accidentally taught to chew on everything. All their toys and entertainment items are made from materials that are similar to everything else in our homes. The fear of reprimanding and being accused of āNegative Reinforcementā causes even the best parrot parents to fall short of managing this behavior. When it is acceptable to put a bird into a steel cage to control damage, the need to follow through is often lost. Just like we train our dogs, we need to train our birds what is not appropriate to chew on. Everyone is successful at teaching our birds no to chew our clothes, so we know it is possible if we have the right attitude.
Work on teaching your bird what it is and is not allowed to chew on This knowledge will extend to the rest of your house. You will be one step closer to maintaining a lifelong friend.

Happy but will be needing another.
I waited a few weeks to write the review to really test it out.So I bought this for my 3 month old double yellow headed Amazon thinking I would try it out after trying out 2 other types of harnesses on my other birds. I thought If nothing else I would use it to get him used to wearing it while he was young and if he chewed it up while learning that would be okay, because I would buy another when he is full grown. The one I ordered had said it was right size for yellow naped Amazon, so I figured it would fit him for a few more months since double yellow heads are a bit bigger…Boy was I wrong. In just the 2 weeks from the time I received it his head has already grown too big to fit. This is by no means the sellers fault in this, but my own.In the past I had ordered different types of harness for my cockatiels and although I liked the other kind of harnesses the each lacked the durability that I wanted for a larger bird. As for the fact this one is all one piece when others I had were harder to put on. This one is durable at least the harness itself. It is a very thick material and I feel like it would take a long time for him to chew it up if he ever wanted to, although I plan to teach him not to and so far he hasnāt tried to chew. The leash part think could be a little thicker. Itās thick enough and I would trust it for one of my smaller birds but for one like him I wouldnāt trust it not to last through a good chewing session. At the same time I donāt plan to have him in it without constant supervision to let there be a chew session, and I always have back up such as a bird carrier backpack. I also know I wouldnāt leave him unattended long enough to chew.I also love that thereās not all these complicated parts that make it take even longer to get it on as others I have tried out. And for a bird who still isnāt full grown I felt like this was much safer then others in being against the crop. It doesnāt pull in the chest area which I appreciate. We did have a blast the first time I got him in it and was able to take him for a walk around the yard to check the mail and it was nice to finally get him out without being in a carrier. He had fun talking to neighbors passing by, charming them with yelling out āhelloā to them and he had me laughing with babbling away excitedly whenever he saw something new. I canāt wait to take him out again. He wasnāt too happy when I first put it on him even if we had been getting him used to touching his wings and being wrapped up with a towel. He did enjoy being out and now he doesnāt mind us draping it onto him while formula feeding, since his head doesnāt fit thatās all we can do with it now.I will be buying a larger one soon. This is great to have if you have the time to spend to get your bird to wear it, and it is probably the best made easiest one to put on of those I have tried.

Highly recommend!
Great Harness. Iāve tried others in the past and I can absolutely confirm Aviator is the only brand I trust to keep my parrot safe. Once both you and the bird get used to the harness it is very simple to use. My caique loves it and gave me no trouble at all. Seller was very professional and helpful. There was a problem with the delivery and The Parrot University went above and beyond to make things right. Iām so thankful for their help and will definitely be ordering from them again. Highly recommend!

A great product but you need to move up a size for a Goffin
I found the CD to be very helpful, with it and some time I feel this will work great. However with my goffin the head area is very tight to get on. I was able to get this on my bird but it was hard and getting it off was a fight. I am unable to see if the body of the harness fits at this time since the little dear will not work with me. It will take time and patience but I can see this working out wonderful for us both. I feel this is a wonderful product which will get my bird back outside where she loves to be. She enjoys the outside and long walks which she has not had since she flew away a few weeks ago. I am new to the bird world and will have to work on some major training since I have taken her in from an owner that didnāt have time and she spent most of her time in a cage.Update:The size I bought which was small will not work with my Goffin. Over the head is just way to tight. It might work if I went up a size which I may contact the seller for a change out.The major issue I have is with how tight the head area is. It is too soon to know if I need to go up a size since I am unable to get this harness on her all the way. I will have to do an update at that time. I am going to give this a 5 star for the CD which was wonderful and I feel this is a great product which will work great, along with the exchange policy if it does not fit. With the CD and the return policy if you have time and patience to work with your bird I feel this is well worth the money.I feel the seller is very helpful and really wants what is best for the bird. That they are more interested in keeping your bird safe along with enjoying the time outside than selling their product. Do not get me wrong I am sure they want to sell and make lots of money I just feel they are more for what is best for your bird and getting the correct fit which makes them a top seller in my book. Look for an update when the sweetie lets me get the harness on her.

The only safe bird harness
100% the best bird harness ever. I love how it is safe with the elastic band and adjustable size. It definitely took a lot training to get Mango used to it, or to even put it on. Take it one day at a time but it is worth the patience if your bird will accept it! They get to see the world!
I love this game I think you will too –
May not be a fit if your bird is a cockatoo.
Product is well made but choice of materials may not be suitable for all birds. The harness attaches to a thin elastic bungee type thin rope. My umbrella cockatoo bit through this and detached it into two pieces in a single whomp as if it were butter. She accepted the harness with no issues. The material the harness is made from is durable and by most part chew resistant. If the attachment part was about 8 more inches longer and out of reach of bird this would be a much better design. Would recommend if your bird is not a chewer.

This harness is fantastic. It’s actually very easy to use after a couple of tries. It looks comfortable on my tiel and it feels very secure, my only issue is the size of the wrist band attached to it. I feel it’s very easy for it to move off your hand because of how small/thin it is. I’ve tried adjusting it but I don’t see how. It shouldn’t be an issue if you keep a tight hold. Otherwise, it’s the only harness out there I trust. Very worth the price.

Thank you very much! Our chick is 2 months old, and we managed to put it on the first try. Of course, she is not thrilled, and when we stop during the walk, she tries to take it off. But most of the time, she just travels on my shoulder, and we are not afraid that she will fly away. It seems to press a little under her wings, but maybe she will get used to it soon and not notice it.We would like to have a soft version, like a vest, possibly with Velcro; maybe it would be more comfortable for her. But for now, this is the best option available.
