Great Battery
This battery lasts a long time. It works well for the intended purpose. It lasts about six months, but it might last longer for dogs that don’t love going in and out so much.

Re: criticism for having to use “special” batteries: well I don’t like that I have to pay extra for the “special” printer cartridges either, but this is what free enterprise is about! Deal with it! This door is a quality product and I’m willing to pay for the batteries because it’s cheaper than replacing rugs and furnitures damaged by pets who can’t get out to do their business during the day. I also appreciate the peace of mind for the security of the door. Top notch product. The collars are maintaining fine. batteries last about 5 months. Don’t let the negative reviews about the battery cost deter you from considering this door. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat if I move.

… work and thought it was my collar that was bad so ordered a new collar
I received one battery that did not work and thought it was my collar that was bad so ordered a new collar, the old collar was fine with a different battery. I think it stinks that you have to use this special battery in the collar. Always have to keep one on hand because you can’t buy these batteries just any where! I have put a lot of money into this set up for different parts when it was just the stupid battery that didn’t have a charge!

I am quite satisfied with a four month life expectancy
I’m replacing my second High Tech Pet collar battery today. The door was installed the first week of October 2015. That is an average battery life span of four months each and the first one was replaced early because I was traveling. I am quite satisfied with a four month life expectancy.I have found If you carefully wrap 1/2 wide electrical tape around the edges of the transmitter it becomes nearly water proof. It also holds the halves tightly together. My dog has bumped the transmitter on the door opening hard enough to split the case apart. Fortunately it occurred on entry. The pieces were easy to locate and reassemble

Okay batteries, genius company
These batteries are overpriced, they don’t last that long. This company is genius for selling these batteries because that is where they money is to be made. I love the automatic dog door but I hate that they have not come out with a rechargeable version. I would much rather pay more for a rechargeable version than have to constantly be purchasing batteries over and over again. Another thing that annoys me is that yes they are cheaper if you buy more of them at a time, but the bad thing about that is then the batteries get old. So here I am having to buy two at a time otherwise if I buy more, then the batteries will go bad. I know there is a way around this but I haven’t really looked into it yet. It sounds tedious to me, so that’s why I have just been purchasing them in packs of two.

I have been buying these batteries for a few years now and this is my first review. The batteries last for about 3-4 months and works very well. My only criticism is that they are very expensive and the price seems to be climbing. The hi tech pet auto door has held up really well but the cost of the batteries makes this purchase painful.

Very happy with these batteries. I’ve been buying these batteries for a couple years. One lasts a few months in my dog’s collar for the automatic doggy door. They are a little pricey but they do last quite a while.
