Before this, we used one of those chenille-style dog towels—and while it worked okay, it was so bulky to pack and basically impossible to air dry. A good everyday dog towel
I got the large towel for my 100+ pound dog because our backyard turns into a splash zone after it rains. The size is big enough to wrap around him a bit, but not so huge that it is annoying to handle, and not so small that it feels pointless. I really like the pocketed design because it lets me wrap my arms around him and reach his chest and belly without struggle. The textured sections where you grab the paws have actually been the most useful part for me, though. I can hold his leg steady and get between the pads without a wrestling match, and he actually seems to enjoy the whole routine now.In terms of drying, this microfiber towel soaks up way more water than a regular bath towel and does not stay dripping wet afterward, which is nice since I just hang it by the back door. I have washed it just once so far, air drying it instead of putting it in the dryer, and it has held up fine with no fraying.For normal post-walk cleanup it has made life easier and the floor less gross. The price is a little higher than a basic towel, but I am reaching for this one every day, so it feels pretty justified.

Great in theory, but not absorbant
It’s a great idea overall and definitely is structured well, feeling very nice in hand, it isn’t obnoxious to look at and it doesn’t bother my dog. However, it is not very absorbant and it’s sort of exactly what I need where I’m from due to the constant humidity and wet grass. It doesn’t dry my dog’s paws very well either. It doesn’t hurt to have but unfortunately I’ve found that it takes up space next to the typical bath towel I use to clean off my dog. The hand pockets are a really nice touch and I also appreciate the little loop added for wall-mounted hooks. Otherwise, it’s a great idea that I think just needs to be readjusted, material-wise, to make it better at it’s intended job.
