Great treat for dogs!
My dog loves them! It’s a great treat for her and I never had any problems with the product. It is easily digestible and she never had any issues with choking. I hope they continue selling these as my dog cannot live without them.

My wife refuses to let our dogs eat rawhide chews (or bones, or anything else that they could potentially choke on or have little shards rip up their intestines), so when I stumbled upon these “SmartChips” I was immediately intrigued. I mean, every doggie likes to have a good chew treat every now and then, right? I was also lured in by the Guaranteed Analysis, specifically that these have a (minimum) Crude Fat content of 0.2%! Makes me wonder if that’s a misprint (I’ve never seen a peanut butter treat that low before). One of my dogs has had a weight problem his entire life, so I’ve always tried to limit treats to 6% fat or less. These are unbelievable at only one-fifth of one percent.But do the dogs like them? Oh heck yeah, you’d better believe they do! I give them the treats, and they each go off into their respective areas and chew away. These don’t last as long as rawhides. My boys–both around 20lbs each–can finish one off in about 5 minutes or less; never actually timed it, but a rough estimate.These are hard like rawhides, though. Sometimes it sends a shiver up my spine when I hear their teeth sliding and grinding away on the chews. They’re both seniors–15 & 14 years–so I do worry about the effect it might have on their teeth long-term. Short-term I figure it’s great, i.e. a natural way of scraping tartar off and such.You only get 12 treats in a bag (6.7 oz), which is about 89-cents per treat. That’s on the high end (IMO), but it’s not completely outlandish. It’ll just have to be a treat for “special” times. A lot of the cost is packaging & transportation, I’m sure. If they were just sitting in a bulk bin at a pet store, I think they’d be priced around 35-cents or so. [UPDATE: Amazon made these an Add-On item, and as of 1/8/19 they are now roughly 42-cents per treat. Excellent job, Amazon!]The bag I received was plenty fresh. The “best by” date is Aug 2020. It also says “Made in Vietnam” above the best-by date. Well, I guess that’s better than China. The treats have not had any adverse effect on my dogs… at least none that I can notice, and it’s usually pretty obvious when something doesn’t set with them.I’m not sure I’d give these to extra large dogs. Each treat is about 3.5″ long and 1″ diameter at the center. I imagine that could be a choking hazard.Anyway, the dogs love ’em (really love ’em), they’re low fat, they don’t turn my dogs’ stomachs. In fact, if you can believe the label, these are “easily digestible” and “vitamin & mineral enriched”. I believe the easy to digest part, and looking at the ingredient list, there are a few supplements listed (though down toward the bottom of the list). I really can’t see any negative to these treats. I’m glad I can finally give a chew treat to my boys every once-in-a-while.

My little dog loves this treat
My 13-lb. dog loves these. She gets one a day and gets so excited. We have a subscription because this is her favorite treat. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes for her to eat one. She doesn’t play with toys, but she will toss this treat up in the air and play with it just a little before she eats it.

Owning a dog with a chronic disease has pushed me to find other options for food and treats. He loves the taste of SmartBones peanut butter. He can easily chew and digest these compared to actual rawhide treats.

I have these on my regular prime delivery. Gives the dogs a good chew for a good price. The big dogs in the video are mine the two little ones were just visiting and even the little ones were able to tackle it.
