Easy to use, Stacey likes!
This is a well-constructed water fountain that works as it should. I love that it comes with a stainless-steel bowl (there is a plastic one also). Most importantly, my cat Stacey began using it within 4 days of setting it up, which is impressive to me. It can take cats a long time to get interested in a water fountain. She has been using pump-type fountains for a couple of years now, but it actually took her a couple of months to start using those.I think this is a common phenomenon. One great thing about this fountain is that the bowl is at an inviting height. It does make some noise when dumping and refreshing the water, but that actually captured Stacey’s interest too.It charged quickly and the same charge is still running a week later. It’s great that no filters are required. You can select how often to dump/replenish the water as well as the extent to which the bowl is filled. So, getting it set how you (and your cats) want it can take some time and patience.I have been changing the water about every 2 days, which is really the max I would go personally (and since there is no filter I use filtered water). Also, the one downside I see is that the waste-water container is smaller than the refill area, so if this is left unsupervised for a few days, there could be an overflow of the waste water. (I still gave 5 stars because of the overall quality and usability of the product.)I think that cats need multiple water options that include some access to water that doesn’t rely on a charged or corded fountain. This fountain is a great choice for Stacey, as one of multiple water options in my apartment.UPDATE: I’ve had the product for about a month now, and it is still working fine. I wanted to update, because Stacey had surgery two days ago (eye removal), and since she is 14, it’s a pretty big deal in terms of recovery. She has to have the plastic cone on at all times for two weeks. Also, she is still on strong pain medicine. Getting her back to eating/using litter box has been a bit challenging, as she is wobbly with meds and confused by the cone.I was totally surprised when yesterday (and again today) she took a super-long drink of water from her fountain! She could easily navigate drinking with her cone. As shown in the added photo, the cone goes under the water bowl, so she could easily reach the water — and she did this by herself! I was just so surprised and happy that I wanted to add this to my review.

Good depending on what your needs are
I just watched my cat stare with great curiosity at the water bowl automatically turning over and refilling. To my pleasant surprise (I thought at first he’d be afraid of it), he then immediately started drinking from the new water, so I think it’s reminding him to drink (he had another water bowl sitting nearby that he didn’t go to). This could be very good if you have a cat with certain medical conditions like kidney disease or urinary issues where getting lots of water is important.My only issues are that it was a little confusing to put together (mine came with a second bowl, which is nice, but it wasn’t mentioned in the instructions sheet so I kept going, “What is this bowl for?”), but I am admittedly bad with stuff like that. It’s probably pretty easy overall. And also I wish the timer went longer. For only one cat, I don’t think he truly needs it emptied every six hours (the longest interval).

Great slime free automatic watering fountain
This is a great automatic watering fountain. I really like that it will dump water periodically and put fresh water in. I have other watering fountains that get slimy after the cats have used it for a bit. This fountain is not very loud when it dumps and refills the water but it does startle my cats some, although it shouldn’t bother them once they get used to the new sound. Assembly is very easy and programming is simple. The amount of water that goes into the water bowl and how often the water is refreshed are set by the panel on top of the fountain. I’ve had it running for a few weeks on one charge and it’s still going. Overall, I think this water fountain is great. I’d still want to have other water bowls for my cats, such as gravity fed water bowls in case power or water runs out of this one but the fact that it keeps the water slime free is a great feature.

Not sure about this
My cat sleeps in the basement. His litter box is there, along with kibble and water. The basement has a/c and heat, but no running water. So I have to trudge his water bowl up and down the stairs to keep it fresh. I didn’t want a fountain as there are not a lot of plugs down there so I liked the idea of this being on battery. And I could fill it up and keep the water fresh for days.I have not had it up for long. First, it does not come with a charger, just a cable. That right there irritated me as j don’t want to have to spend more money for power. It took me awhile to get the right charger. Then putting it together, charging it and then bringing it down was a pain. I may get past this if there are enough other advantages to it.So far, the cat did not mind the noise of it emptying and filling up, so that’s good. Became sniffing around. The water level is a little low when it fills the bowl. So if you have multiple cats, you want to make sure it refills more often. You have 3 time intervals. I have mine set on the longest which is 8 hrs. My cat is upstairs during the day and drinks out of the dogs water bowl so once a day would have been fine with me. It has some other bells and whistles to alert you to low water level, low battery.It might all work for me and my boy. But hauling the whole contraption up and down once a week cleaning, filling and charging may be more trouble than it is worth, at least for me. It might work better in a different set up. I just cannot tell yet whether this is going to be a good long term solution. Will try to remember to update this once some time has past.
