Will dry carpet cleaning destroy my soil-resist or stain-resist treatment?
No. It’s not necessary to reapply stain resistant treatments after every carpet cleaning. However, foot traffic can destroy some soil resisting treatments. Soil and stain resisting treatments should be reapplied after every two to three carpet cleanings, if the carpet is cleaned regularly. Carpet that is not professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months may require a stain resistant treatment after each carpet cleaning.

Will Capture bleach my carpet?
Capture carpet care products do not contain any chemicals that can remove color from your carpets or rugs. None of our products contain bleaches, ammonia, brighteners, or any other chemicals that can remove color or react with stains to remove color.
Can you clean wool rugs with Capture?
Capture may be used safely on all rugs and carpets made of wool. Capture is approved by the Wool Bureau and will not harm the fibers or the rug.

Can I use Capture powder on sisal rugs or sculpted berber carpets?
Capture is very effective on all types and constructions of carpets and rugs. Carpets and rugs that don’t have pile but are flat instead should be cleaned by first applying the PreMist, then GENTLY brushing in the PreMist, followed by applying the powder and brushing that in. The tighter construction of berber sometimes makes penetration of the powder more difficult, so using a little extra PreMist will enhance the Capture powder’s performance.

On my second bucket! My elderly cat has had accidents on my rugs, and when I apply the cleaner, you wouldn’t know that anything happened. It not only removes stains, it also removes the possibility of lingering smells. Great product!

We started using this in the early 1990s for dog accidents, but have used it to clean entire rugs and for other spot cleaning. It works extremely well and has a great fresh scent. We’ve used it on very expensive rugs, and those rugs have maintained their like-new appearance for years.The way it works is ingenious: with a little dampness the particle expand and contact the dirt particles. When they dry, the particles shrink but keep the dirt attached. Vacuuming removes both the Capture particle and the attached dirt particle(s).Tip: do not saturate the area with the (required) Pre-Mist spray; use a light mist. Put another way, if the area is not dry and able to be vacuumed in about 30 minutes, then you are using too much Pre-Mist.

Dry cleaner that is safe for Pottery Barn rugs
I was researching steam cleaner for my new Pottery Barn wool rugs, but a helpful Amazon customer recommended against this because Pottery Barn advises not using rotating brushes on their carpets. Instead, I purchased the Capture 8 lb. container plus the 1 X Milliken Capture 4lb Dry Rug Cleaning Kit at the same time on the first purchase because I had four Pottery Barn 8′ x 10′ rugs plus a 2.5′ x 9′ runner to clean. This ended up being the right decision because the 4 lb. kit container said, “Assuming average room is 10′ x 12′ and only cleaning in high traffic areas. Container cleans 400 square feet.” Capture has been safe and effective for the Pottery Barn rugs and I will continue to use it.The cleaning process is shown in the attached photos. You will get better results if you lightly spray (don’t soak) with the Capture Pre-Mist first, then apply the powder with ample scrubbing and leave it on for at least 30 minutes or preferably overnight to ensure maximum action and complete drying. (The brush will accumulate small globs of Pottery Barn wool fibers which you have to pull off as you go along. Note that the handle in the picture is not included in the kit; the kit includes a brush that you have to twist onto a handle of a mop or broom you already own.) My rugs were only a few months old and didn’t have any spots, but the color still did look brighter after cleaning.I gave this a 4/5 rating because the odor control was not as powerful as I had hoped. Two of my rugs had an unpleasant chemical odor that the Capture powder did not remove, so I had to switch out the rugs. But I’m not sure even professional cleaning could have taken care of that odor, and the Capture has been great for my other normal rugs, so others may find the odor control is adequate.

I have black carpets, so normally dirt and marks don’t show up very well on the carpet at all. However the matted marks from high traffic areas turn an unsightly light grey. I bought this hoping i wouldn’t have to buy or rent a carpet cleaner, as i really don’t have the money for it. But in hindsight i would have just gotten a carpet cleaner.I used the powder in my bedroom, and it did, i will not lie, it did make it very obvious where some stains would have been if i had lighter coloured carpet, ( AKA the spew next to my bed when my partner got so drunk and decided to throw up on the floor, and THEN scoop it into the bucket. ), it clung to the stain and all my other carpet once i brushed it in. I vacuumed it up with little to no issue ( I have a Dyson V11 absolute/pro/thingy), but I was a little disappointed with how little really came up. The vomit are was much better, and the carpets felt lovely and smelt nice, but it didnāt get rid of my long set dirt and traffic sadly. I donāt exactly know what I was thinking to be honest, it is a dry chemical compound, I didnāt put a spray down eitherā¦All in all, I am going to buy a carpet cleaner, but I do not necessarily regret my decision buying this powder. I have learned that for what I want it wont do the job by itself, and who knows, maybe itāll work much better with a vinegar spray over the top and then the carpet cleaner run over it too.P.S – i also tried this on 3 different upholstery thingos – couch, lounge and 2 different types of chairs – didn’t see a difference š
