prep for pets too! Nice chicken for use as meal topper or stuffing treat toys
SO far so good. Recognizable as chicken. Smells fresh! It is a very moist product. Firm, not exactly a paste, more like a non crumbly pate. Stays together and can spread, yet not so thick that it is hard to spread over kibble. All chicken–well, that and “water sufficient for processing, liver, and guar gum”. Says it is cooked and sealed in its can. Keep in mind that this is not meant to be sole source nutrition. It works well for use as a food topper or in a treat puzzle or licky mat. Maybe elimination diets. But dog still needs vitamins and minerals and carbs.I normally buy Against the Grain 100% chicken, or the ever lovely Honest Kitchen Human Grade Meal Booster. The former is available in cans and the latter comes in little boxes. The other is slightly more granular (like crumbles with gel) whereas Honest Kitchen is a very smooth dense paste. All very good, all just one single ingredient listed on packaging. Against the Grain is also cooked and packed in its own can. Just different amounts and price points between the brands. This Evenger’s option is one I am very glad I tried and am buying more as soon as I finish this review.I also keep this type of stuff on hand as part of prepping for my pets. I have two labs (and three cats). The labs always get some sort of protein topper on their kibble. Usually some shredded chicken. Usually it is cheaper for me to buy chicken for them, but this past year has been uncertain in terms of availability, and at times price (though price hasn’t stopped me–yet). So some days they get the shredded chicken some days the canned. Or a blend. The main thing is that I want to make sure they have food, and something they are used to. So I keep them at forefront of my mind when shopping and making proactive choices in food purchasing. Even the canned food I used to get has been out of stock or very challenging to buy over the past year. So stuff like that is something to keep in mind. This Evanger’s brand was not one I had tried before, though I certainly heard of it. I decided to buy it alongside my usual purchase of Against the Grain 100% chicken (I am not at all against the grain, that is just the name. I am pro grain). The price was significantly lower for same amount. The quality seems good, Made in USANow that I have tried it, I am going to order more. If I experience anything worth sharing- good or bad, I will update. I keep up with my reviews.PS. I have only used a couple of cans, but so far I am not noticing chicken bones or other bits.

Excellent dog food, next best thing to home cooked meals
Aproved for use in kosher households so you know it’s pure. Take a moment to read the label that they’ve posted on Amazon. The only thing in there besides the meat is a little water necessary for processing. It’s expensive and it’s really worth it. It is the best way to help extend your dogs life by feeding excellent food.

    Good quality dog food
The cans were fully intact. Good quality. I have a very picky dog, she started off strong, loving it. But now it’s not going as well still hopeful.

    Great meats, great price
Been buying this line for the last few years. My dogs eat a mix of homemade, raw and this. I also use Dr. Harvey’s miracle mix (base) in their food. The cats even get some and sometimes the chickens will too. Everyone loves it. All three of my dogs are seniors and do well. We get dented cans at times but that’s the price you pay with Amazon’s warehouse and delivery I guess. We use them anyway. Not had any spoiled cans. No one has any issues with this food, including myself. The price is excellent compared to other canned meats for dogs. I usually have several cases on hand. Will continue to buy for as long as it’s available and the quality stays intact.

    ⭐ 1 out of 5 stars — I wish I could leave ZERO
My poor pup (Theo) was violently sick within hours of eating this food—vomiting every 30 minutes and extreme diarrhea. I spent all night caring for him and cleaning up. At first I thought it was a fluke, but when I checked reviews, I was horrified to see multiple other pet owners reporting the exact same issues with this product. This isn’t just bad luck—it points to a serious problem with quality control. To make matters worse, the manufacturer has not responded to my email or addressed the many similar complaints on Amazon. This is unacceptable. Until the manufacturer takes responsibility, investigates, and fixes this, I would strongly warn others: do not risk your dog’s health. This could easily kill someone’s pet.
