What a surprise
I wasn’t sure what to expect when ordering this, but it has been important to me to use “sustainable”, environmentally friendly cat litter for years. The brands I have been using are made from natural substance, and is safe for spetic and sewer systems, so any new litter I try would also have to meet that standard. Of course stink-retaining factor is important, too.When I opened the bag, I was met with a delightful, refreshing green tea aroma. It was even soothing. I expected more tofu-looking particles- whatever that would look like- and was surprised to see these little pellets.One bag was the perfect amount for the box in which I wanted to try this litter. Several cats have visited the box and left a deposit. To date I have not noticed any problems with scooping the deposits, nor odor beyond what is typical.The ingredients in the litter are wonderful- nothing harmful to animals or earth, ingredients readily available. I only wish there wasn’t such a high price for such safety and peace of mind. The litter I’ve been landed on for five years is about $1/pound, and that’s been a big expense for the 5 cats I have, but for good litter and a clear conscience, I have to pay up. This litter is currently about $2/pound.

EXCELLENT odor control! doesn’t really clump
This litter just about eliminates all odor from the cat box. I use this in conjunction with traditional clumping litter, so I can’t speak as to how it works on its own, but it is excellent along with the regular clumping litter.When I first got it, I introduced a small amount into one litter box so my cats wouldn’t freak out at something so foreign and start peeing outside the box or something. I used regular litter in 3/4 of the box and filled the remaining 1/4 with this new litter. Neither cat minded it, in fact the area with this tofu litter became the “pooping corner”.When I went to scoop, I noticed that none of this litter had clumped – maybe because it was the poop corner so there wasn’t enough liquid to cause clumping, I’m not sure. But what I did notice was that there was absolutely no smell coming from the box in which I used the tofu litter. The other box was stinky, as usual.From there, I decided that instead of completely switching to this litter I would use it as a supplement to my usual clumping litter. I made this decision for a few reasons. First, this stuff is really expensive. A 6 lb bag is priced at $17, my regular litter is $10-$13 for 15 lbs. Another reason for my mixing the 2 types of litter is that in my experience, this tofu litter just doesn’t clump. Also, because of the shape of the bits, when I scoop the unused bits don’t really filter out of the scooper, so the whole box would be basically emptied after every scooping, kind of defeating the whole purpose of clumping litter, and going back to the price, it would get extremely expensive needing to refill the entire litter box every couple of days – and I have multiple litter boxes for multiple cats.So now, I use regular clumping litter then sprinkle a layer of this tofu litter on top for odor control. I’ve been doing this for about 2 months and just finished 1 6 lb bag. For the way it eliminates odors and lasts me a very long time, I find this to be affordable. I will continue to order this litter. In fact, it available in Amazon’s Subscribe & Save program so I can just add it to my delivery every couple of months.One last note, it looks weird. For the first few weeks it totally freaked me out because I thought there were maggots in the cat boxes! Then I remembered that it is just the tofu litter and I calmed down. Not maggots. Whew!

My favorite litter for 6 cats!
I’ve tried every kind of litter as well as tried every kind of tofu litter and this one is my favorite. There’s really no dust and it smells like real green tea – a very pleasant experience! Plus it’s not as sticky when wet so it doesn’t stick firmly to the sides of the litter box like other tofu litters

Loved it never getting any other litter super efficient and mask odor so well no dust at all. Also clumps very easily. It’s 100% natural … literally u can smell the green tea. Honestly it’s worth the price highly recommended especially if u have more than one cat
