Customers say

Customers find the dog collar effective, working just like a traditional prong collar and stopping pulling behavior almost instantly. The product receives positive feedback for its quality, training effectiveness, and value for money, with customers considering it well worth the price. The durability and ease of use receive mixed reviews – while some find it very durable and easy to put on and off, others report it breaking easily and being difficult to handle. The fit is also mixed, with some finding the large size perfect while others say it’s too large for their dogs.

Effective and inexpensive alternative to a conventional pinch collar for most dogs.
I have used this collar on at least 20 dogs. Many of these dogs had no obedience, bad manners, and behavior issues that required training. The most common problem among the many has been pulling on the leash. This collar will do just what the dog needs in order to begin to end leash pulling and that is to be uncomfortable when it is pulling on the leash. Harnesses, harness leashes, “gentle leaders” and the like are merely gimmicks being marketed to those with good intentions, but lacking in knowledge about leash pulling and other unwanted behavior as well as dog obedience training. This collar is inexpensive, made well from high-quality materials and easy to use if the recommended sizing and fitting instructions are followed. This collar should always be used with the included nylon backup slip collar or some other type of collar. I use a snap-around collar for a backup.ALWAYS USE A BACKUP COLLAR! Pawmark sells a leash extension on Amazon with two snap hooks that works well to attach the leash to a primary and backup collar. This collar is effective as a general training collar for most dogs. I highly recommend trying this collar before spending a lot more money on a conventional metal pinch collar. The size of the collar is adjusted by adding or removing links. This can be a little tricky at first. However, there are videos that demonstrate how to do this properly. After a couple of tries, it is not hard at all. If you are unfamilar with pinch collars or have been exposed to the negative propaganda about them from the Dark Side, you should know that these collars are not painful nor do they injure the dog in any way if used properly. But, NEVER LEAVE THIS COLLAR OR A PRONG COLLAR ON A DOG FOR DAYS!! This is really a bad idea. I have read some of the less than positive reviews concerning this collar. Some of them are irrelevant as they refer to a different collar – with pictures included. Others are in the category of those unique situations such as dogs with very long coat hair, and dominant or aggressive dogs. This collar is probably not going to be as effective as a prong collar for specific special cases. The collar is a great first collar to use for most dogs. However, like other collars and tools might not be effective for some dogs compared to a prong collar. I use a prong collar for foundational obedience work and then switch to this collar when moving the dog to an electronic training collar. The small collar size is suitable from my experience for dogs up to 50 pounds or for dogs with small necks. If it is the case that you have to use less than six links for a dog with the large size collar, I recommend using a small size and adding links. You do have to take some time to read and follow the instructions and watch the videos on how to size and use the collar – especially adding or removing links.

Good for leash training, no more pulling
Honestly for me this works wonders I have to walk 2 dogs one is a Frenchie and the other an Australian shepherd so it was a lot of pulling and it led m to not want to take them out so their behavior started being very like barking at everything and every person and dog they saw but now they hardly even pull and it’s helping me to train them even more! They don’t bark at anyone or other dogs because when they do I just slightly pull the leash to correct them and it’s amazing but what I noticed the most is they tend to listen more even at home without the collar they don’t bark as much anymore to the people we live with so the importance of walking your dog it literally changes your dog, more energetic at home, playful, obedient, no more waking me up in the night! Amazing so also walk your dogs, get this if they pull and take your dogs out on a walk at least once a day and if you are able to 2-3 it’s amazing the difference it makes

    Better than I expected.
I was looking for something to deter my 1 yr old 65lb Doberman from pulling on walks. The metal prong collar worked well, but I felt the prongs were dangerous in certain circumstances. This collar’s teeth seem more gentle than the prongs, yet pointy enough to get the message across. I’ve only used it a handful of times… he is walking without pulling most of the time. Plus I got a harness that also seems to work better than just a collar.Had a bad experience with the prong collar. When he was about 7-8 months old we walked to the park and 4 lab mix dogs attacked us. When they charged at us, my dog tried to run, but I had hold of the leash. The prongs squeezed into his neck causing him to cry out as I was busy kicking the dogs away from us. The more my dog pulled, the more the prongs hurt, the more scared he got. Luckily the owner of the 4 dogs got there in time. But from that day on, I have not put that prong collar back on. I don’t think this collar would have hurt near as much. The construction is actually better than expected, especially in this price range. Seems pretty sturdy. Color is a dark blue that doesn’t look as bad as I thought it might. Was hoping for color selections like black or camo or dark brown. But the blue isn’t that bad. It also doesn’t look quite as menacing on the dog as prong collars do. Just a little thick and heavy looking (although collar is very light weight. Now I sometimes just carry in my pocket on long walks in case he gets in a pulling mood. If considering a prong collar to stop the pulling, I would highly recommend trying this one first. We also have a gentle leader – which works pretty well, but he really doesn’t like the strap on his nose. And tried the Easy Walk harness where leash attaches to the front opposed to the back. It works OK. Cuts down on pulling. The current harness is great – light weight, comfortable (at least seems to be, Brody likes it). It is an EzyDog Padded Chest Harness. Would recommend – got it at TheDogOutdoors.com about $24.

It looks to be the same as what I already have, bought more than a decade ago. Those still work and are in good condition, but I wanted one with a quick release. Thanks Starmark for making these, for making training my dogs enjoyable for them and for me!

Works very well! After exhausting other training methods, collars, harnesses and haltis with a stubborn dog that pulled incessantly on walks I was glad to find out about this collar. Easy to use, easy to put on and worked immediately. Read the instructions thoroughly, and it’s easy to use.
