Most likely an excellent tracker but the APP requires to much personal information
I was excited to receive this tracker as my husband is elderly and shouldn’t be driving, but says he will give up his license. This seems to be well made, and the instruction pamphlet is well written, but there is only one APP available to run this. First, if the company goes out of business, the APP will most likely no longer be updated or function. Second, to register the device, the APP asks for personal information and a credit card. There is no subscription cost, so why is a credit card required? I am not comfortable giving out my information when I have no clue where the information will be registered, and the item is made in a foreign country.

The title recommends for kids or seniors. It’s really too large to carry on one’s person. It’s magnetic and clearly designed to be put on a car–a use it seems well situated for. It’s a bit bigger than a lipstick. The magnet is not rare earth, but is large and I don’t think it would fall of a moving car unless it was directly hit or maybe in a major accident.I have not used long enough to know the battery life or the app functionality but I will update the review after playing with it more. Really it seems to be a set and forget type of thing. My main concern is if the company goes out of business and in the future the app becomes unavailable. But that can happen with any device like this

Quality Build but poor app.
We got this GPS tracker for my wife’s car. She does a lot of long distance driving across the desert where there isn’t many towns or people. We thought it would be a great way for me to see where she is and that she’s made it to her destination safely. The tracker comes in a small white box with a very short USB cable to charge the unit with. From a quality standpoint it appears to be made quite well and it charged up fine. It’s a little bigger and thicker than other trackers but since it was going in her car the size didn’t matter to us. Unfortunately this is where the “goodness” ends.In order for the tracker to work you have to download and install their tracking app. Pretty common thing these days, so I went to the app store and began down loading the app. It forces you to open an “account” with them which I wasn’t a fan of but went ahead and tried anyway. It then requested some personal info which I don’t like but it wasn’t until a screen popped up requesting my credit card info that I flat out said no, I’m not using this app. I tried two more times and got the same request. So then I tried finding a generic app that I might be able to use, but found nothing that would work. I’d really like to rate this tracker higher but I am dead-set against giving out that level of personal info for no reason. If the company could change their app I’d love to use this, but until then I have to say no.

I ordered this VKAFW GPS tracker not knowing what to expect. One of my vehicles already has GPS tracking included with it but my other vehicle does not. I’m taking a trip soon with the other vehicle and thought it would be good to have a tracking device in case there was any trouble locating the vehicle or, God forbid, it was stolen. I took a chance ordering this device and I’m so glad I did!It arrived well packaged and secure. Included in the box was the tracker, a short charging USB-C cord, SIM card and instruction manual. First thing, charge the device for a couple hours completely before trying to go any further. The instructions tell you to do this but I tried to figure things out before it was completely charged and it wouldn’t work. While it was charging I went ahead and downloaded the app on my iPhone and registered the device. The instructions that came with the device are clear enough but I think they could be better. Also, the print in the manual is very small, especially the sample illustrations.Once this GPS device was completely charged I opened my app and VOILA it was working perfectly! I still need to play around with the app to figure out everything that it will do/provide. I will say that for me, it’s not all self explanatory. I’m pretty tech savvy but some of the options in the app, I’m not really sure what it will do and wish there was more direction to help out. I’m not taking any stars away for this and maybe someone else who reviews this GPS tracker can chime in about it. To clarify, I have a GPS device that I track my indoor/outdoor cat with and have been for a few years and have another vehicle with GPS tracking, so I understand how the GPS works.The magnet on this device is strong, but I think for the option of magnetically attaching it to your vehicle on the exterior of the vehicle, personally, I would want it to be stronger. I did not attach it magnetically in my vehicle. I placed it in the glove box. As long as you have a good, clear GPS signal this works great and it’s very accurate. I like that this is so small and portable that I can place it anywhere I need to track something. I think it would be fun to watch this while traveling by plane and placing this in my checked luggage. I would order this GPS tracking device again and recommend it to others.
