Bailey had horrible breath that I attributed to poor dental hygiene so I decided to try some canine dental care. A friend told me about Summit dental care and I decided to give it a try as you can see Bailey loves it, and her breath is significantly better. I know her teeth and gums must be much healthier as well.I am definitely going to continue using it, thank you, Summit!

My Dog Refused To Eat It
I have a rescue chihuahua, who by nature, has a predisposition for terrible teeth. The last dental surgery for my dog put me at the $1,700 mark and that made me all the more serious on upgrading preventative care for my dog’s long-term health. I was initially intrigued by this product that is advertised as an All‑Natural No‑Brush Dental Powder for Fresh Breath & Healthy Gums by Summit Animal Health. We use dental bones at home and I figured that I could easily implement another layer of dental hygiene by sprinkling this into her food.First impressions so far is that there is very, very little product for a $35 dog supplement. I know that it was advertised as 1.5 ounces of proprietary product but there is actually only 1.43 ounces of powder in the pouch. For the amount of product that is in this fairly small bag, the consumer let down was very real.Functionally, this product needs to be redesigned based on that fact that there is a lot of product loss with this kind of packaging. When I opened up the bag, there was a huge cloud of product that dissipated into the air by just merely unsealing the bag. When I inspected the contents inside the pouch… I realized that the entire inside is caked with this fine powdery product… meaning that I will never be able to use the powder that is stuck in the corners of the bag and lining the entire interior of the pouch. The tiny dosing scoop that comes with it is haphazardly thrown inside the bag, which is also caked in the powder. Surely, for $35 they could have offered this product as (60) individually pre-dosed serving packets or put this product in an actual plastic container and have a way to store this small scoop without getting stuff all over yourself? I hate being wasteful and it is very hard to properly dose this product based on the current packaged state. I don’t know how I am supposed to get 60 doses for a small dog with the amount of product that is given.With that said, for the last few days, my dog has not touched her food that is sprinkled with this product. It’s been an all out hunger strike apart from her willingness to eat her normally scheduled treats. Other than that, she’s not been interested in her food that she normally loves. As an experiment, I put some of her dry kibble without the dental powder next to the dog bowl with the powder. She finally ate her kibble without the dental powder after being extremely grumpy at me.This product didn’t work my dog’s needs, but it doesn’t mean that it won’t work for you. I appreciate the quality and care of the ingredients of the dental powder. This company goes at length to ensure that this is a top quality product. However, I couldn’t get my dog to eat it and I couldn’t justify the price to purchase for the future. To put it in perspective, my human grade vitamins don’t even cost me this much and I get a whole lot more product.

Not 100% sure I can leave a complete review because it’s going to take more time to see if it works than the time frame I have for the review. That said, I have been putting this on my dog’s food every morning and it doesn’t change how she wolfs her food down (i.e., must not taste bad!). The little scoop is nice, and I use it also for the turmeric I give her occasionally, too. It is a little bit hard to reach in and get a scoopful; a different package design might be nice. But one could always just pour the package into a pint jar, too.

and I can’t really seem to notice anything different. Since I split the bag between two of my dogs, the day supply turned out to be only 30 days instead of 60. My younger male dog has always had good teeth so I wasn’t too worried about him, it was my older female that I was hoping would benefit from this. Upon opening the bag, the first thing I noticed was the smell. It’s not a very pleasant smell but it’s tolerable, thankfully I’m not the one eating it. The second thing I noticed was how stiff and clumpy the powder had become even though there had been a desiccant placed inside. I gave one scoop to each of my dogs every evening meal using the scoop that is provided in the bag. Both of my dogs are about 20 pounds so they both got one scoop each. They each didn’t seem to mind it despite the smell which is great cause I really didn’t want to waste an entire bag of this. After the 30 or so days, we haven’t really noticed anything different about their teeth/mouth. If anything I thought this powder made my girl’s mouth a bit more stinky :{ In the end, I found it to be quite pricy for not being able to accomplish what it promises to do.
