Brilliant Brush
This is a very clever pet brush from TEZKOLES. Initially, when I saw the word “steam,” I was horrified at the thought of cooking my poor pooches; but rest assured – this brush actually produces a cool mist, not actual steam. (Think humidifier rather than vaporizer.) I am Mom to two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels that require near daily brushing. We own more brushes, combs, and mitts than a grooming parlor, but I have never seen a brush quite like this. At its core, this is a simple and effective, self-cleaning slicker brush. Both of my dogs tolerate it, it does not get bound up in their fur, and it does a good job at removing loose hairs and keeping a handle on the shedding situation. However, what really makes this brush unique is the “steam” function.My dogs have mountains of very fine, very soft hair. Brushing them in the spring and summer months produces a good bit of static and tangling. Brushing them in the heart of winter, with the heat running non-stop, produces enough electricity to power a small country. The steam feature of this brush thoroughly eliminates the static problem. There is no snapping and popping, no flyaways or tangles. It truly makes a massive difference. My dogs are much less stressed throughout the process, and the results are fantastic.This brush is very easy to use. There are highly visible fill windows to indicate how much water is in the reservoir. It has a one button low/high/off function. You do not have to continuously press anything for the mist. When the steam function is engaged, it produces a constant, steady flow of moisture. There is a lighted charging indicator in the handle that lets you know how much power is remaining. The quick release, hair removal plate works perfectly. This really is a very helpful – and very affordable – pet brush and I would recommend it without hesitation. Holy Flying Fluff!
I have two domestic short-hair kitties who don’t love being brushed, but don’t hate it either. One has denser fur, the other is so soft and fluffy. So getting a brush that works for both can be a challenge. Not to mention the amount of fur flying around my house.For the most part, my two kitties do not like the higher setting, but generally tolerate the lower setting. There is a distinct difference between the two settings. I mostly have to start brushing them and then turn on the mist otherwise they freak out a bit. I suspect some of it is the slight increase in sound and the additional volume of noticeable mist. I wish the brush head was a little smaller so it was better suited to their size, but it still works great. Using the brush does leave a little bit of dampness on their fur, but not dripping wet. And it really helps keep the loose fur from flying around like a regular brush. The ejection of the collected fur works pretty well, although the lifter doesn’t quite get to the ends of the brush tines so you still have to scrub a tiny bit to get the hair off. I like that this is rechargeable with a regular USB-C cord, so even though it comes with a cord (however not a plug), it is easy to use with one of the many cords I already have. The charge lasts a long time since you are not brushing for hours.At a price point of $17 USD, this is on par with other similar products. It works as expected and is tolerated by both of my cats.
