Nice Compact Fountain with Cleaning Tools
Assembly, aside from washing the pieces, was simple enough. The connected unit measures approximately 13 inches by 5 inches.I like that the bowl hooks to the water fountain…but so far, my cats do not. Hunger will win their prissy butts over in the end, I’m sure. The unit pieces are easy to clean. (This isn’t true of all fountains.) Cleaning the pump weekly is a must, and I do like the little brush and tweezers provided to help with that task.I used filtered water (filtered through my filtration pitcher I use to make my own drinking water).I confess, I’ve unplugged, emptied, and put away a different water fountain because it was so difficult to clean. One of my cats will refuse to drink the moment he smells the first algae cell, so simplicity in cleaning is a benefit.Downsides: Why do all these fountains have interior lights? Between the light and the see-through water reservoir, this just contributes to algae growth. We’ll see if the filtered water helps with the algae problem common to these fountains.Shout out for the included power block! The last fountain I bought, I had to hunt up a power block, so it’s nice to see one included. It’s really a thoughtful design….but a warning light for adding water would be so much better than the lit/translucent reservoir.

I so desperately wanted to like this fountain, but it LEAKS terribly! Also, no filters?! ;(
For the record, I really was excited for this! I tried EVERYTHING I could think of to get this pet water fountain to work properly. The first unit I received, I put it together…took some doing, but, I finally got it up and running. I thought it was terrific! I loved it! Food bowl was a little concerning, because as a cat owner I knew my cat would make an issue out of it by splashing water into her food and I probably wouldn’t keep that part attached…but aside from that, I thought the fountain part was going to be ideal, especially as I’d been looking for a new fountain for my single cat household. This one looked promising, even after I put it all together. Then…as soon as I went to put it down on the floor and plug it in…WHOA!!!! Water EVERYWHERE!! I realized it was LEAKING like NIAGARA FALLS!!!! What happened?!? I quickly emptied it, took it apart again quickly…and after wiping up the huge mess in my kitchen (where I had assembled it), I found there was a hole in part of the mechanism where the motor was installed. There was never any chance this fountain was NOT going to leak?!? I wish I had noticed it right away. It was beyond repair. (NOTE: after reading other reviews NOW, way after the fact, I’m seeing I am not the only one who seemed to either get a defective fountain, or it is just a defect in the overall design?? I really am not sure?) Well, I quickly returned it and requested a replacement…hoping it was a fluke. Got the replacement…put the SECOND unit together. Boom! The SAME hole in the same place…. I didn’t even need to put it together to know the same LEAK would happen!!! I was super-duper careful, I wanted to make certain that I had not done something myself to cause the issue, and I can be certain I was very diligent when unpacking and handling BOTH fountains, ESPECIALLY the replacement. I’m so sad about this, as I really wanted this to work. I also noticed, after doing some research the first time, that even if I HAD put this together successfully, that there are not even replacement filters available for ordering, and they only give you ONE? So…maybe it’s a blessing in disguise that I was not able to get it to work? It would have been useless after a few weeks anyway. I’m very very sad about this, but I will say that I can not in good conscience recommend this fountain. To anyone. I’m so sorry. If I could give it ZERO stars, I would…but I suppose one star will have to do. Poor craftsmanship, and even worse planning for the fact that you cannot even maintain the fountain itself by purchasing new filters. I don’t see why anyone would buy this. Certainly not worth the price. There are much better fountains available out there that won’t leak and that will have replacement filters available to you…buy one of those instead to help keep your pet hydrated. Don’t take a chance on this one. That’s my best, most honest recommendation.

Very nice water fountain for your pet
Very nice and quiet water fountain. I had another one but my cat keep stepping on it and water would spill all over the floor. The light is very nice that matches my fish tank. Very ease to set up

Smaller than it appears
This is smaller than it appears in the images, so pay attention to the volume! I was worried it would be too LARGE for my cats, so I’m actually pleased it was smaller than expected.I’ve owned other fountains, so here are my comments based on my extensive experience with cat water.This is VERY quiet. Far more silent than any other fountain I’ve owned. Cats don’t like the loud sound of a pump motor, so this is a perk. It is a plastic water bin as opposed to stainless, and tho I prefer stainless, I like to see the walls of the tank so I know when they are low on water, and to ensure it stays clean. The stainless car foundation can look clean on the outside but have lots of cat hair and grossness inside, so I think the plastic basin is an advantage.This fountain is MUCH easier to fill and replace filter than others. The fact I can replace the filter while it’s still running is a nice feature. Sure, I normally need to wash out the whole unit, but it’s nice to be able to top off the water and clean the top portion of the foundation without unplugging it and carrying the entire unit to the sink.Best part, it isn’t scary like some of the other foundations. The water stays low and there isn’t a gaudy flower or tall pipe coming off the top. My cats are (comically) scared of each new fountain and this is the first time they didn’t seem intimidated at all by a new version. Part of this is they now understand the concept of water fountains. But also because the pump is so quiet they can only hear the sound of trickling water.The little food dish is too tiny for dry food, but nice for snacks and wet food.All in all, this is a great fountain and I do recommend it!
