Cool baby car camera
Image resolution is quite good on this camera. Setup was easy as the camera is already paired with the video screen. A simple push button on the video screen power cord turns both the camera and screen on/off. Both plugs are standard usb. The video screen has a nice mounting bracket that has self adhesive mounting tape. The range between the camera and video screen is quite good so you can also use this as a babycam inside your home.

Best for newer cars and possible USB connector issue that can be problem with newer/newest cars
This is a decent baby camera bundle for the car, works out of the box, camera and display already pre-paired for use. Easy to use and install. The camera headrest mounting strap can be mounted in either vertical or horizontal position, but unlike some other competing offerings, this one doesn’t come with double straps so that you can strap in both positions if you wanted to.The kit is better suited for newer cars of a certain year range, not too old like 20 year old car, nor too new like latest model car. That is because it relies on USB connections to power the camera and display, each powered separately, so that’s 2 USB connections. And it uses or comes with the old USB-A (i.e. regular USB) connectors. So only new but not newest cars come with the old USB connectors. Newest cars may only have 1 old/regular USB port (for wired Android Auto or Apple Car Play), or none at all, replaced with newer USB-C connectors throughout. And very old cars, you’d need to plug in 12V (cigarette lighter) socket to USB adapters to use this kit.So with that in mind, if the car only has USB-C connectors available to use, you may need USB/USB-A to USB-C adapters. And the camera, due to it having a limited cable length, if not using USB extension cable, is best mounted on the headrests of the driver seat or front passenger to plug the USB cable to the rear seat USB ports or the front dashboard USB ports. If mounting on rear passenger seat headrests (say to view a baby in rear facing carseat), either the cable hopefully reaches the rear seat USB ports (if any available), or you’d need extension cable, or hopefully car (e.g. SUV/minivan/truck) has rear 12V socket adapter like by trunk area to offer a USB connection for the camera in the back.

high quality
I love these types of car baby cameras! I think these are especially useful for younger babies/newborns. The camera quality is top notch and the display is great too. Only 4 stars because there is so many wires, which I know is necessary but it’s also a hassle. It takes little time to install and has good brightness for night vision.

Less clutter, Easy to install Camera.
There are plenty of Car Camera options and many with different features but wanted something that is easy to setup and works as it should. Comes with the 5.2″ Screen Size Camera which is plenty to view and Monitor with a USB adapter to plug it in with an off/on switch that does offer an adhesive side to stick where you like. The Monitor also offers a detachable stand that has an adhesive bottom if you like to attach it to your dashboard. Does have the ability to adjust the angles as well. The Camera has a 4 slot piece on the back of it where you slide in the Velcro strap to mount the Camera horizontal or vertical behind your headrest. Simple to set up and come with a USB cable attached to it to power it up so if you need an extender to reach a USB port for larger vehicles with no close access to a port it should still be fine. So far connecting the Camera to the Monitor is simple, just plug both USB cables and turn the Monitor on. Connects within 30 seconds. Video quality so far amazes me but then again most devices lately have been impressive. It offers basic features like Brightness, view angles, change within 2 cameras (if you have another camera) and pairing the device. You can reset the device as well. Not much to it but does what we mainly need it for to conveniently see in the back. Great Quality Camera and Monitor, all plastic material which is just as expected and no need to charge it, just plug and play. No batteries needed. Would recommend for anyone that wants something simple and no need to run/hide cables that connect the devices.

A bit pricey for what it is
This is wireless baby monitor for the car. It’s wireless in the sense that the connection between monitor and the camera is wireless, but both the camera and the monitor needs to be plugged in and powered via the USB-A cable. They did not include a cigarette adapter with this set, which I think is very necessary because older cars don’t have build in USB ports.I also felt like it was kind of expensive because you can get a home baby monitor with a screen that has a 30 hour battery, and a camera that pans and tilts for way cheaper than this.Other than that, it’s pretty basic setup – nothing wrong with it, but it’s just kind of barebones for the money.

This car monitor is the answer to a problem for me with my truck camper. Usually my dogs ride in the cab of the truck but, as it is only a single cab, on longer journeys they will want to lay down to sleep and it is a bit tight for space for them to do that so I put them in the camper. With this monitor I can see that they are okay back there and aren’t getting in to anything etc. Even without the dogs back there it is useful to be able to see what is going on and take a glance to see what a noise might have been without the need to pull over and go look. It wouldn’t be the first time I forgot to put something away and have it crash to the floor. Being able to see it was, for example, only a chopping board as opposed to a kettle of water is handy information to have.Setup is simplicity itself and all you need is a USBA outlet in the dashboard, or as a plug-in accessory, and the same in the back for the camera. The leads aren’t the longest so you might need to get longer ones if your outlets are out of reach. They are cheap enough to buy if you don’t have spares at home already. They will also work from power banks as long as you keep them topped up. The image is clear enough for me to see all I need to, both in daylight and darkness. The camera being in the camper and the monitor in the car doesn’t seem to cause any issues with the wireless signal producing a good image. No sound, though, which I would have thought achievable at the price point. It would be nice to have but I can hear any louder sounds of bigger items falling or the dogs barking or jumping around through the open adjoining slider window. My application is somewhat unusual, though, and sound wouldn’t be necessary in a car interior, so not a complaint – just an observation. With a couple of power banks you could also use this as a regular baby monitor when visiting someone else’s house if you wanted to lay your baby down to sleep in an adjoining room. No sound wouldn’t mean having the monitor in front of you, though.Useful device – recommended.

A very simple to setup product for monitoring you’re baby in a car, van, pickup truck etc. With a simple plug end play design, this might be what you’ve been looking for. If you have the proper setup to use it in you’re vehicle. The build:This camera system is primarily build with plastic polymer. Offering a mid range experience that still feels robust enough for everyday use. The screen is also built using the same type of gage and polymer. It’s buttons feel decent with good click, yet exhibit some minor wobbling. The cables are long enough for most vehicles except very large SUV or limousine styles. The 5.2 inch screen has decent brightness I would say around 400 nits. Not the brightest I’ve tested yet decent enough, at combating indirect glare. This means during a sunny day you will have difficulty seeing exactly whats on the screen. Yet if there is some shade, cloudy day etc. It will work just fine and you won’t have any issues. Each component can be attached with sticky tape that is provided. Before you instal you’re cam you need to clean the surface area with iso propylene alcohol. This will insure maximum adherence, when positioning the screen mounting bracket. You will need 2 USB slots in you’re cars dash to power the units. One for the camera the other for the screen. This might be this products downfall for some users. Who only have one slot available. In use:This unit performs adequately yet cannot surpass other units I’ve tested, in any way. I would call it average in all regards from the 1080p clarity witch seams a bit over sharpened. To it’s lack of HDR implementation. It just feels like a basic cam. For a relatively high asking price point. Especially with all the competition on the platform. As for the rest of the unit it does offer good features such as a swivel screen mount, adjustable camera base, long usb cords and a decent sized screen for the price. The night vision does work well yet can feel a bit to bright, Thankfully this can be adjusted in the service menu.Final thoughts:For it’s relatively high asking price I’m not blown away. Yet it does give you a good visual of you’re child and what he or she is doing in real time. This alone gives you peace of mind and greater road awareness. Since you only have to look in front and casually glance at the screen to see how you’re little one is doing. Yet with some many models to choose from with similar features. This one needed to stand a bit taller over the crowd. I would say what saved it, was it’s larger screen, mounting system and easy instal.

Baby car monitors are a great way to be able to still look at your child without taking your eyes off the road. Especially when you are by yourself, it gives you a peace of mind better than your rear view mirror. This one from babyview does a very good job and reduces your cables all at the same time. Some of the other units require that your monitor and the camera connect together, but this one uses a wireless camera so you can connect it into a back USB reducing your cords running through your car.The resolution of the screen is good with the size of the screen being adequate for what you need it to do. The menu on the side of the monitor allows you to change the brightness, reverse the camera angle left to right or up and down, and even allows you to connect a second camera if you have twins or siblings of different ages. The one thing that I wish they would have paid more attention on is the alternative connecting devices for your vehicle. Not all mounts work for all situations and a little bit more variety would have been more appropriate. As I mentioned in my video , the mount isnt necessarily good for my type of vehicle and so it’s still a work in progress on how to connect it properly. The camera connects to your headrest or the rear car headrest by a stretchy strap with velcro ends. I felt that the angle of the camera was adequate, though I still would have liked a little bit more movement from it.All in all, from start to finish, it takes about 3 minutes to get it going. Just having that forward-facing screen, without having to bother with mirrors, is immediately beneficial. Even with more than one person, you can now both look at the screen without having to adjust any mirrors in order to see what your kids are doing. It is a great alternative to traditional mirrors, especially when your child is rear seated because the mirrors just don’t give you that peace of mind at night.

If you know how to plug in a USB, you can install this camera kit.The screen is a clear HD feed which, paired with the camera, provides great image quality even in low light. At night, the IR vision works excellent. While the camera and screen have cables for power, they don’t need to be wired together. Since most cars these days have USB’s everywhere, installation is a piece of cake.I found this useful even in the home, to keep an eye on a pet or even to watch the stove! Range was pretty good, about 25′ in my home. I even used it once as a backup camera for our RV! (Though I don’t think the camera is waterproof).Overall, great piece of mind and beats the pants off a mirror, which inevitably gets smudged and needs constant re-alignment.

Review for: “Babyvue BV5 No WiFi Baby Car Monitor, 5.2” 1080P Car Seat Camera with IR Night Vision & 2.4GHz Stable Signal, Easy Plug & Play, Less Wiring for Rear Seat Safety, Ideal for Babies & Pets”Brand: BabyvueFirst look:The Babyvue BV5 Baby Car Monitor came in a plastic-covered box (16.8 cm x 9.5 cm x 12 cm) with the user manual, monitor stand, Velcro camera mounting strap, and 3 Velcro cable straps. The camera comes with an 8ft (244 cm) USB cord attached, and the monitor has a detachable 6ft (183 cm) USB-A cord with an inline on/off switch.Testing & opinion:I plugged the USB-A cords to two power banks, and the camera view appeared on the monitor without having to pair it. The menu on the monitor has pairing, brightness & contrast, mirror image, reset, and the QR code for support. The monitor connects to the stand but needs to be attached to the dash or it will just fall over since the monitor is heavy and doesn’t stay upright on its own. The camera attaches to the back of the seat but it’s also hard to keep it upright.Opinion:I was hoping to use this camera & monitor when I put my pet birds in the car (while doing home renos) so I can keep an eye on them from inside the house. Unfortunately there’s no sound on the camera or monitor, so I can’t use it in the way that I wanted to, to get my attention if the birds were loud or had a fright. There are also no recording options.I like that it has long USB cords that work well with power banks, so you can use it in various settings where there is no power, but it probably works best the way it was designed, just to view the baby in the backseat from the front dashboard.
