Versatile and well-made
The BM3 model is solidly built, cleverly engineered, and requires no wiring into the car’s electrical system, other than plugging an adaptor into the dashboard’s 12-volt outlet. The camera’s bracket clasps securely to a headrest’s metal post and keeps the camera from shaking while driving. The lens is sharp and provides 1x, 2x, and 3x zoom by the repeated pressing of a single button on the monitor. Even at 3x zoom, I was able to view the full width of the car. Placing the bracket on a back seat’s headrest and adjusting the camera angle allowed me to view a rear-facing car seat perfectly.The monitor displays a clear well-focused image during the day. But it’s very dark at night, the image can be somewhat grainy. The default brightness setting generally works well and the unit also lets you dim or brighten the display under different ambient light conditions.When you turn the camera on, it records continuously on an included 16Gb microSD card. The card can be removed easily (by pressing the spring-loaded mechanism) to suppress the automatic recording or to transfer the short jpeg files to a computer. When the card is full, it overwrites the oldest recording automatically and continues without needing user-intervention.The wires connecting the power adaptor to the camera and to the monitor are very long. This lets you position the camera on second-row or third-row seat headrests and to run the wires under the floor mats or around the underside edges of the dashboard for protection.The monitor stand requires a flat surface since it uses two-sided tape to adhere to it. I would hope that the next version (BM4?) replaces it with a suction cup mount that allows the monitor to be mounted on the windshield instead. Other than that, I was very pleased with the unit and would recommend it.

Exactly what I need. Good Price and Good Quality.
The baby camera is exactly what I need. First of all, the installation was extremely easy. I like the fact that you do not need to turn it on and off manually. The picture was sharp and bright with the resolution. The view is wide angle, which is good because I can also use it to watch my dog that keeps running around the vehicle while we are driving. The night vision feature is very useful because it is hard to see the back when you are traveling at night time and you do not want to turn on the lights inside the car. The price is very good when compared to other more expensive but less quality products.

Comments about the Luckview Baby Car Camera model BM3-US-B from a very satisfied new owner.As advertised, the baby camera package consists of a dashboard mounted screen (approximately 3 inches high and 5 inches wide) with a detachable mounting bracket that is intended to be mounted in a convenient location with double sided tape. In my case this was on the driver’s side dashboard close to the front window but not blocking the view of the road. The screen size is quite adequate for this purpose, not too large or too small. The camera itself is intended to be clipped onto a front seat headrest support bar, facing backwards toward the back seat of the car. The mounting clip is designed for attaching to a variety of headrest support bars with a selection of a set of sponge rubber inserts where needed. In my case, the add-on inserts were not needed as the clip mechanism provided a rock-solid connection to my headrest support rod. The clip required about 1 inch of exposed support rod clearance for attachment purposes.As shown in the instructions, power is obtained from a power outlet i.e. cigarette lighter socket. The package comes with a plug that is inserted into the socket and of course, wires to provide power to both the screen and the camera. The various wires are well labelled so that the entire setup can be accomplished in just a few minutes. It should be noted that the manufacturer did not scrimp on wire length; there was more than enough cable to reach from the front of the car to the rear seat location of a van or crossover vehicle.In terms of performance, everything worked as expected. The screen showed the entire back seat of my car in 1X magnification mode, and I was also able to increase magnification 2 and 3 times via the screen menu. I was also able to switch the view from normal to mirror and back to accommodate various camera mounting options. Finally, there was an option to work with different light conditions and I am happy to report that the selection for low light works quite nicely.One pleasant surprise was the inclusion of a 16GB micro-SD card. The screen menu provided me with the opportunity to format this card and later I was able to view the contents of the automatic video recordings on my PC. There was no capability to see the contents on the dashboard mounted screen as expected from the product description.As mentioned above, power for the screen and camera is obtained from a standard 12-volt cigarette lighter socket. The plug insert for this has an on-off switch. It should be noted however, that a dual socket adapter might be required if one does not want to give up access to the cigarette lighter when the camera is in use.Another thing to note for those technically inclined, is that it should be very easy to relocate the power connector to a location under the car dashboard where power could be obtained from a fuse location. From this location it should also be relatively easy to hide the wire running to the camera under the floor carpeting.
