Cute: Good for trash. Small for litter. Note the dimensions!
The keyword here is “mini “. Note the size is only 5 x 7 x 5 inches! It is great for collecting bits of trash, but small and cumbersome to change often for litter.I was actually looking for a small trashcan when I spotted this one with cute cat ears, which make it easy to grab. I can just keep it by my side while working on the porch, to collect those little bits of plastic, staples, or rubber bands that seem to come your way when you have nowhere to put them.It comes apart easily enough from clips on the sides. You just insert a bag (comes with it) and slip the top back over the bag, which holds it in place. You get two rolls of bags (60) that tear apart; they’re extremely thin, but you don’t need much for this kind of trash (or for a little bit of litter, if you use it that way). The lid pops open very easily from the thumbprint area, and they give you a spare latch (which I’ve taped at the bottom of the box under the bag in case I need it someday).I could easily see it being used to collect small scoops of litter, but in that regard, it is on the small side. Mine doesn’t slide around, but it does not have rubber feet. Also, if you were emptying it constantly for litter trash, removing the top would be time-consuming, plus it’s not big enough to hold a lot of litter.But for me, it meets my needs as a cute little trashcan; hence the four stars. Just don’t expect to collect a lot of litter in it, if that is your intent.

Dont do it
I bought 3 of these the week my return window closed is the same week they all broke. The lids no longer open and I will need to buy different trash cans. Waste of money.

Counter top compost instead of cat litter.
I have 5 cats- this bucket isn’t big enough to scoop one box, let alone all of the boxes….instead, I present you counter top compost bin!Let me explain- hate buckets with lids. If they’re tight enough to keep odors down, you can’t open them with one hand. This pops up by pressing it and closes just as easily. The top is easily removable by pressing the sides so that it can be emptied easily. It’s cute, who doesn’t want cat ears on their counter?Big enough to fill with a days veggie scraps but not big enough for multiple days where it can sit and attract flies.
