The water fountain itself is great.. Good capacity and very quiet…. 5 stars for that… However, the wire comes out from the top of the fountain instead of the bottom which makes it very awkward looking.

Great fountain for my cat
This is the 3rd fountain for my cat. I can’t remember the first 2 brands or how long they lasted, but I really liked the water level on this and the flower option to make it more like a fountain instead of a bubbler.It’s very quiet, and my cat loves it. After about 3 months, it stopped really working well, just dribbling a little and basically unusable. I messaged the seller who suggested taking it apart to deep clean it. Yikes, I’d forgotten to do that since about 2 weeks after I bought it.It was a little gross, but it was really easy to take apart and quick to clean. I’m running some water and vinegar through it to descale anything else, but it was immediately working as soon as I plugged it back in.

Bonuses: Low-water light, floor mat
I got a different one before, but when I wanted to add a second one downstairs, this one was lower-priced. And this one adds a low-water indicator (the light turns from blue to red), and a floor mat. It’s otherwise identical to some others here.The big advantage with a fountain is that the oxygenated water tastes better. This also holds 2 1/2 liters of water, so it doesn’t have to be refilled as often. Don’t over-fill the tank – the excess will run out the hole for the power cord. It’s got a large slot on the front with the maximum water level clearly marked, and the slot is back-lit by the inside blue light, so that’s not a problem.It’s well-made, assembles/disassembles quickly and easily for cleaning, and it has different spout options (different cats like different patterns and tolerate different noise levels), and it came with a set of replaceable filters (which I don’t use because I’m lazy). The sponge filter is washable, and the whole thing (except the pump) is supposed to be dishwasher safe, though I wash it by hand so I don’t have to fully remove the pump or wait for a cycle to run. It’s easy to wash the parts in a sink with a soapy sponge. It includes a set of brushes to clean the inside of the spouts, but brushes for reusable straws should also work. The directions say to clean it every two weeks, which is a good idea because it can collect debris inside that you don’t see on the outside and doesn’t get pumped through the filters.It’s USB-powered for safety, and it comes with a USB power supply (“charger”). The power cord is a bit on the short side (about 5ft), but since it’s USB, you can get cheap USB extensions at dollar stores…or use an AC extension cord…or use a USB hub…or plug it into another device with a USB port, like a media player. I have a security camera nearby that uses a USB power adapter, so I used a cheap USB hub to power both from the same adapter. But considering low-power USB chargers are readily-available cheap, you have lots of options if you need a replacement. But those are just options, since unlike some USB-powered devices, this includes the power adapter.There’s a blue light, which is inside and illuminates the water inside, as seen through a slot in the front, and the whole unit glows slightly – which I like because it serves as a night light in the room. The light turns red when the water is low, and the motor cuts off for safety. Because the light is in the tank, it doesn’t illuminate the fountain – some cats would probably be afraid of that.My cats needed a short adjustment period. I had both their normal bowl and the fountain briefly. But they got used to it quickly, since the water smells and tastes fresher. You just may not want this near your bedroom, because of the light and the bubbling sound.

Good fountain!
When it arrived in the box, it seemed like it was slightly used even though i ordered new. No big deal, just washed it thoroughly. Besides that, the fountain is surprisingly quiet and the set up was very easy.

Just arrived, late in the day, so this is the first evening impression.Unboxed everything, everything seems there; others mentioned in their comments that they were expecting a cleaning brush with it, as it was advertised when I purchased it, a brush wasn’t mentoned as being included.On a side note to that, however, I did proactively purchase the ‘recommended/frequently bought together’ box of 5 extra filters and they *did* come with a small bottle-type brush, so go figger.As a further aside, as mentioned in other comments, the rectangular edition does have a lot of nooks and crannies that I could see bacteria loving to hide in, so if you don’t have a dishwasher (like me), investing $8-$12 in a decent bottle-brush set of assorted sizes here on Amazon is an excellent cleaning investment. Since I purchased my set, I’ve used them to clean a myriad of items designed more for dishwashers than handwashing. And I can see I will use them to clean this properly, and part of that is due to its rectangular shape (which I wanted). Vekonn makes what looks to be the identical unit only as a round bowl, for those who might prefer that; they may be easier to clean, I suspect they might be.At any rate, once (easily) disassembled for initial cleaning and reassembled, I filled it up, set it down, plugged it in, and it works fine, exactly as advertised and as I hoped.I love the stainless steel tray that catches the fountain water, that’s the type of water bowl I’ve been using for my cat’s water. And as others have noted, it *is* more of almost a tray than a bowl; my understanding is that cats like drinking from shallow water (shrug).For me, the 2.5L size I purchased for my one cat was almost too large in volume; it should water 1-2 cats generously for some time.Others said they didn’t like the blue light; it doesn’t bother me in the least, kinda cool nightlight in the kitchen in fact, to me. And blue is one of the colors cats see best in, so that may be why they chose it(?)Others have said in comments about the pump failing in about a year; this won’t surprise me if it does. I’m an old aquarium fish person, and it’s a pretty standard little pump, and, yes, pretty cheap. But I look at it this way, I got the entire unit on sale for $18, if the pump poops out in a year, I won’t feel ripped off if I have to purchase one of the $10 replacements available here on Amazon. (and for those of you who don’t like the light, the replacement pumps come both with and without the light)Bottom line: about an hour after turning it on, she was drinking, seemingly happily, from the 2-petal flower-fall.Mi gato es feliz, yo soy feliz!

Fits in perfectly with a multi cat household, attachments are great and work well with longer fur cats. I barely even notice the fountain
