    Mange: seems to be working
VERY DETAILED REVIEW! Do NOT expect miracle overnight results! Dedicate yourself to this process, which will take at least 2 months (for mange).Update (Aug 16, 2023):It does seem to be working. Her whole neck, throat, face, head were FILLED with sores and chuncks of fur coming out from mange (which she had in the shelter I got her from!). I will not lie: it has been a long process… I have applied this to her once every 5 to 7 days, like instructions say, at least 5 times now. Make sure you use a cone after, because it needs to dry and they will lock it. She got away from me the first time and licked it and got ill, throwing up “grey stuff.” So be careful. However, it is not easy keeping cones on cats 🤣. Also, you want to use a REAL cone [of shame] that covers up their entire head, because those new pillow-type are not going to stop them from cleaning… their paws can still rub the fluid that they can then lick off their paw. Also make sure you understand that you must dilute this. Instructions are on the bottle! Do NOT put this directly on your pet without diluting it per instructions.I have tried using a dropper and using a soaked cotton ball to apply. The cotton ball, heavily soaked, seems to be the best application. Squeeze the fully soaked cotton ball to release mixture into fur as you rub the area. The dropper did good to soak the fur, but the rubbing while soaking is what really got those nasty bugs to come up out of the skin and “stick” to the cotton ball. They look like tiny little red balls. Like really small… even much smaller than flea babies. These are the bugs!Be careful around sensitive areas, like nose and eyes, because that is sensitive skin that the solution might be caustic on (causing chemical burns).Since doing this, her wounds are healing up, her scratching is less, and the mange is mostly gone from her throat, neck, face and most of her head! It really is clearing up and her fur is growing back. Also there are way less patches of fur coming out. Before I was finding them everywhere. As of now, I want to say this has eradicated about 2/3 of the mange. Still doing weekly applications.Update (24 hours after application):She definitely is not scratching anymore! And I can see she is not scratching visually, but can also see her sores do not look near as “raw” as they did before. Being more feral than domesticated, though she’s SLOWLY improving, today she has been extra cuddly, crying for me and wanting to be in my lap. I take this as a sign she understands her relief and is “thanking” me. I just hope this stuff actually CURES the problem. Will update again in a week-ish.Original Review:For now I’m giving this five stars just because the product arrived and it seemed to be in good condition. I have an elderly cat of 10 years old that I adopted from the Humane Society that apparently had a case of mange when I got her. I thought the dark spot on her chin was just part of her coloring cuz she’s a calico mix (she was feral so its not like I could feel it to see it was actually scabbing)… It wasn’t until months later, when it started spreading throughout her scalp, that I realized we are not just dealing with old Kitty skin issues or calico coloring, but actually mange. I tried the home remedy of topically applying vinegar and that didn’t work. So I’m giving this a shot. After I have given her some treatments I will update this post to say how it works, so this review has nothing to do with whether or not the product does what it says (I only received it today and applied first application). With that being said, it does have an odor, but sulfur kind of smells like rotten eggs. I immediately poured 2 oz into a half gallon of water, but I immediately sealed up the original jar so the smell didn’t have a chance to be that bad. I’m not sure why other people are making such a big deal, because cat urine smells worse than this stuff.Because I have a cat, I cannot really use sprays on her, because the sound of spray bottles scares her. She is still somewhat feral. When I got her from the Humane Society she was not letting anybody come near her, but because she let me give her scratches I decided to take her home hoping to rehabilitate her so she could live out her last years with love and affection. However, it’s been a long process and it took her a month and a half to stop hiding under the bed. This is why I had no idea mange was getting worse on her. Now she is slowly coming to me and getting in my lap, but it is still with limitations as she is still somewhat feral. If I do “too much,” she goes back into hiding for days on end… Because I cannot use sprays (and obviously I cannot dip her in a bath) I decided to use a dropper to apply the sulfur-solution. She actually did much better than I imagined, letting me apply the solution this way. Some of her mange scabs were raw and bare from scratching, so I was very worried she would be hurt, but the solution did not seem to bother her, and the smell intrigued her, as I could see her little nose “working” trying to figure out where those “rotten eggs” were. 🤣I was able to successfully apply the solution to her forehead, around her ears, top of head, neck, and chin. Then she had enough and ran away and went to her hiding spot. But, I am glad the solution seemed gentle, and she did not seem to be in pain from the application in any way.The product does “stain” anything it touches yellow-orange, but more yellow than orange. Much lighter than iodine. But, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely use protective gloves. However, I think the staining is temporary.I hope this works! Will update more when I can. Application directions say do it, then next application in 5-7 days, so I will see how she’s doing then, and try to provide another update.

    Works well, good price.
It’s seems almost impossible to get lime sulfur for bonsai and what is available can be rather expensive. I have used this to treat the deadwood of a couple of my trees and so far it has worked very well, and has been easy to mix (dilute) and apply either by hand (with a toothbrush) or in a sprayer. I am looking forward to see if it protects my trees from fungal infections this winter.

    It helped but the smell
Oh my goodness, the smell! But I braved it, washed the dog because she needed help. It helped her, the appearance of her skin is better but I had to do several applications. The holidays came around and I didn’t continue. I’ll try again in January or take her to the vet. The smell.

Has helped cure our kitten of ringworm
We adopted a kitten with a bad case of ringworm. We have been treating her with antibiotics, a sulfur shampoo and a weekly dip of this stuff. The smell is as expected and really doesn’t bother me. The bottle is a good size & has helped a great deal in curing our little one of the terrible skin infection.

It works really well and is inexpensive plus the smell fades
This works great! The smell fades but isn’t so terrible. A few things I learned after 7 dips; you get used to it, you don’t wash it off, it’s best to use it every 5 days, you can store the unused mixed solution for the next dip and it will cause a massive die-off within a day or two of the first dip. We got our pooch from the humane society and didn’t notice she had a small mange infestation until about a month after getting her. I thought her patchy coat was from allergies, she’s half chocolate lab and pit bull….nope. Vet treatment was crazy expensive so we decided to go this route and it has worked. Dipping her was tricky the first time even after watching several YouTube videos but we now have it down to a science. It takes a while to completely dry and we walk her 30-45 minutes after the dip. We put the left over solution in a leftover beer growler and it lasts a long time. Don’t wash it off or let your dog swim/wade in water. After it dries you can brush your dog but the coat will look a little ashy and you can wipe off the excess dried residue with a towel. The smell isn’t the best but my favorite National Park is Yellowstone so it reminds me of vacation 😂😂🤷🏼‍♀️

    Good for ringworm
Yes, it smells like rotten eggs and will stain everything. However, lime sulfur is the most effective topical treatment for ringworm in pets. It’s a sporicidal and offers some residual protection for a couple of days after application. Lime dips 2x/week is quick, inexpensive, and effective.Pretty much all lime sulfur products are the same and work the same. Keep in mind, this bottle is small (4 and 8 oz) and won’t make very much solution. It won’t be enough if you have to dip 2x a week for 3+ weeks. You’re better off buying a larger size.Unfortunately my bottle came with the inner seal slightly and the air caused the concentrate to “crust” which is not in common. The solution is to “warm” the product so the hardened parts dissolve again, but that’s a pain in the butt. I used it anyway since I needed to start treating right away. The product still worked fine but there was some wasted unusable product left in the bottle. (This is probably an issue with the seller vs the product itself.)I ended up ordering a larger gallon size from a vet supply. I probably wouldn’t order this again just because the size isn’t practical for treatment.
