Dogs Did Not Enjoy
If you have a large dog that really likes to rough house with their toys this jute tug toy will likely appeal to them. The tug reminds me of bite toys you might find in French Ring or IPO training where you really want to work on bite development. The handles on both ends are sturdy. My Labradors weren’t all that interesting in tugging with this toy as I think their preference is for softer materials.

My dog is an aggressive chewer and most toys don’t last but a few minutes. As soon as we took this toy out of the box and made a few squeaks, my dog was attentive and ready to play. She is more of a wrestler than a traditional fetcher, but likes to both play tug and be dragged around on the carpet. She played longer with this toy than any other toy she has had. She played fetch many more times than usual, played tug for a good long time and the toy is still in tact. Once she was tired, she did attempt to start tearing it apart, but we took it away from her. It crinkles and makes the typical squeaky toy noise. It seems tough and well made. The tug handles are comfy in your hand. It has now lasted several separate play sessions and it is still like new. I also think it has cleaned a little bit of plaque from her teeth as well.
