Fantastic tool
Excellent training tool for large breed dogs and intense pullers. I love that it has the quick release feature, which makes it so easy to properly fit this collar as well as take it on and off easily.While people are usually initially put off by the appearance of prong collars, they are actually much safer for pullers than most standard collars. With a standard collar a heavy puller will not feel the pressure of the collar correctly until they gag themselves like I see dogs do all the time. This is TERRIBLE for their necks and can do serious damage over time. The prong collar, however, creates many equally applied pressure points (think of it the way people can lay on a bed of nails without being punctured or injured at all) and this is pressure a dog senses and responds to extremely quickly. This not only makes it easier to work on walking correctly, it also prevents them from unknowingly causing themselves to harm their necks.IMPORTANT! You must fit these types of collars properly or they will not work properly. Watch some YouTube tutorials on how to remove/add links and to fit the collar appropriately.

Great prong collar that actually helps the dog learn to walk safely
I train dogs as a hobby and work with a dog frequently, so I take training methods and tools pretty seriously. I usually only recommend a prong collar as a last resort, because most owners do not know how to use them properly (or, better said, are apt to misuse them when frustrated). A prong collar should never, *ever* be jerked, it should never choke the dog, and it should never cause the dog actual pain. The entire purpose to give them a surface pinch that prevents them from hurting themselves. It’s a training tool, not a harming tool.I love this collar because it is actually the right size of prong for any dog over 25 lbs (thick, so that it doesn’t stab the poor guy). It even can be used with caps, for those with less faith in their use of the tool. I use it with a dog that is incredibly well trained, yet still has the bad habit of getting distracted on walks. He’s fine when working, but off duty he is a real pill. This collar helps both my poor shoulders and his poor neck. He doesn’t choke himself and he listens to all his cues. He’s happier when wearing it. You pull the thing out and he runs to get it on, even if you have to switch it with his other collar. And the fabric side i a great touch for extra safety, comfort, and strength. We have two, one for the car and one for the home, and they’re really helpful for everything.

Snapped twice in one week
It is difficult for us to write negative reviews because we understand how that affects the seller and potential customers, but this without hesitation warrants caution. My wife and I purchased the Titan Coastal collar approximately three months ago while training our 70lb staffy terrier rescue. The first two months, no issue worked as advertised. Earlier this week the collar snapped while I was outside with Hilo. It broke away on one of the end connections, and fortunately I was able to grab Hilo before he realized the collar was off. I examined all the links for well over a hour before resnaping the piece back in, and I even clamped the connection tighter. It somehow dislodged connections while Hilo rolled on the ground, I expect better.Fast forward to this afternoon and my wife had Hilo outside. He pulled forward and this time a different link snapped and he was gone. After a brief worrisome and frightening 10 minute chase through the neighborhood, Hilo got sidetracked by a small party. We were very fortunate he stopped to make friends otherwise Hilo would have been into the cornfields outside town to never be seen again. I cannot recommend a product that has failed us twice now and almost resulted in our pup skipping town.We are familiar with similar collars and have friends in various K9 team capacities that have used similar products but at higher costs. I will opt to purchase something of higher quality if it means spending more for peace of mind. I was initially happy with this product, but three months into it I cannot recommend it to anyone.

Great item to train your pet!!
Well made prong training collar gives you the control over unruly pets during training session. Easy to put on and remove. Make sure to order slightly larger so you can easily flip the collar inside out to put on and remove. Works great for my stubborn adult Akita!

This is a solidly made prong color. It is nicely made with a buckle closure making it easy to get on and off. It is fairly easy to remove the prongs to adjust the length. The black fabric portion is not adjustable. You must remove links to size. I’ve been using this with two different German Shepherds. The first is a young female who goes from calm to Cujo in three seconds. This collar works well with her. and demonstrates her ability to rein herself in. The second is a senior male rescue. His training weakness is leash work. He is oversized and can be determined. A light correction with this has resulted in substantial improvements. I have used the all metal versions previously. although overall performance is about equal this is a tad easier to adjust and much easier to get on and off the dogs.

This collar is the only thing that will control my American Staffordshire Terrier. We have tried all the other collars(vet recommended) but this is the only one she respects. With the others, she is still pulling – even with obedience classes. She isn’t scared of this collar – and we only use it for walks.

First of all the ad is very misleading as it says “eligable for refund or replacement” but then when you actually try to process a return it says that the product is in fact not eligible for a return. This would not have been an issue if they provided sizing recommendations which they don’t so you have to guess and hope for the best. Since I was misled into believing I could exchange it I went ahead with the order of size med. They state some links on the collar can be removed to provide flexibility. When I received the item the size of the individual prongs are HUGE. I think it would be suitable for a horse. On top of this I ended up having to remove 5 links just to make it fit, and in doing this over half the collar consisted of the nylon strap defeating the whole purpose of using a prong collar in the first place. I am utterly disgusted with this company and the fact they would mislead customers in this manner and then not provide an opportunity to exchange for a different size. Do not buy from this seller.

It looks great I love the short prongs as we have short haired dog! I take away one star because the clip is not strong enough for a large breed dog! My dog is 100 pounds and I suspect it’s a 50 pound breakaway clip!

i didn’t see that the product was large prongs, this will not work, and i cannot return it. this sucks big time. i’m very disappointed. beware of the size of prongs.
