Great product that we’ve used for a long time
We’ve bought Deley Naturals fish oil for YEARS. No strong smell. My dogs and cat love it and it seems to help with their coats. They all have very soft, shiny fur (even my 13 are old pittie). My cat actually had dry flakes skin before giving her fish oil daily. We did have to ease her into a full dose over a few weeks because… she’s a cat!

Good value, but stains
We purchased this as a supplement for our boxer mix – his coat has always been shiny but he is prone to dander especially in the colder, drier months. I liked the quality of the product itself – no fishy or rancid smell, our dog seemed to like it, and it was a good value for the money. We think it may have improved our dogs’ coat slightly, but after discontinuing use I haven’t noticed a regression at all so maybe his health has improved over time or the changes in food that we have implemented are more significant than the addition of a fish oil supplement.I re-purchased this product after our first bottle, but we recently discontinued using this product and threw out the last bottle we bought. The issue for us was that the pump dispenser resulted in fish oil getting everywhere – I think it would pump into the bowl then a little would drip from the pump onto the container and then run down the side of the container and end up getting all over our white cabinets, staining them yellow-orange (the stain is impossible to remove, so we will need to sand and repaint our cabinets to repair them). Additionally with only one dog, the bottle is pretty big so it would last us a long time, so I’m not sure how long the product was good for and we just worried that it had been sitting too long. I think if we had multiple larger dogs and a designated dog pantry, or if this came in a smaller bottle with a different dispenser (maybe one we could store in our fridge in a zip-lock bag to keep it lasting longer and prevent a mess) we would reconsider it.Not a bad product, just one we decided ultimately wasn’t worth it for us.

Great product with results!
My dogs love the taste of the Icelandic fish oil. They always eat the dry food with the oil on it first. I have seen improvement in their coats and they don’t seem to have issues with dry and itchy skin. My only complaint is that the product is messy and will stain surfaces. For instance drops have gotten on a wall near the food container and no cleaning product seems to remove the orange-brown stains.

Great results, not so great smell
My dogs coats look beautiful. My complaints – the smell and the cap / pump. I have a sensitive nose and the smell is not pleasant. Both the flip cap and the pump leak, leaving an oily, stinky mess on the bottle. So, 5 stars for results. It does work very well. I deducted two stars for the smell and the leakage issues.

We picked this up for our dog who recently was licking excessively, presumably due to dry skin and blowing out her summer coat. It helped to clear things up in a hurry, and she is no longer licking patches down to the skin. Low odour is nice and she ate it with no problems at all. Took a star off because I got the pump bottle to avoid the “oil on the hands” mess that I was getting from poking holes in capsules, but the pump isn’t great quality and leaks a small amount of oil every time we use it. More of a minor annoyance, won’t stop me from purchasing this again.

My mom has an 11 year old cocker spaniel. In the last year, her skin (the dog’s that is 😉) has got really bad, with patches of fur barely growing (which should grow to be long if left uncut) and even falling out. She’s not in pain but it is really distressing to see how her skin and coat is getting so bad so quickly. My mom didn’t know what to do and the vet seemed to not be taking much notice and suggesting any treatment. It was getting so bad we started talking about getting her (the dog!) to a veterinary dermatologist. Before that I suggested we try her (still the dog 😉) on some omega 3 fish oil to see if it might help. I ordered her ( my mom!) this product.We started her (the dog, not my mom!) on it on Christmas Eve, being careful not to over do it at first and give her an upset gut. Today is January 3. We went into it with our eyes open, and not expecting miracles but still hopeful for some improvements, even if only minor. So far, the dog is tolerating the oil well and when I saw her (both mom and the dog!) on New Year’s Eve, I thought her skin felt better and the hair seemed to be softer. Even the spots where the hair was falling out from just being gently touched seem to be better with less hair loss. (We are trying hard not to get overly excited so soon or to ‘see’ things that really aren’t there)Right now, we are cautiously optimistic! Having said that, I am impressed enough so far to now be ordering a bottle for my 4 1/2 yr old cocker spaniel. She has no skin or hair issues so I am going to add it as a preventative measure.I will update this post in a few months after my mom’s dog has had a longer exposure to see if we notice any real change.UPDATE: 15Feb2025The effect on my mom’s dog is incredible!! Her coat is softer but most amazing is how improved her skin is!! She isn’t perfect but the improvement is astounding! And my own dog is now taking this fish oil and her coat is more silky, Ang her skin is definitely better!Two more bottles will be ordered today!UPDATEToday is Feb 19 and the change in my mom’s cocker spaniel is astounding!! Prior to starting the fish oil her skin was in terrible condition. Even her head was all lumpy and so no one wanted to pet her (poor thing). In less than a month we noticed a difference and last week when I checked, her head was smooth, her scabby, rough skin was 90% resolved!! Areas where we thought the fur would never grow back, look normal! And her coat is soft and silky!! I am completely blown away!!!My own cocker has also been on the fish oil and she too has a much shinier coat, and the spot on her back that I was worried about has healed up completely!!!It did take my dogs gut a bit to adjust (soft stools for a while) but now she is very happy to eat her food with a squirt of fish oil added!!I 💯 recommend this product!
