Well made and nice looking recovery cone
This is a good-looking, pretty pink recovery cone. When my neighbor’s dog got a hot spot, she asked if I had a cone she could borrow, but I realized that I did not have a cone, but thought it would be better to have one before I need one. I found this cone and liked the way it looked, as the hard, clear plastic cones that the vet will sell you are so dismal looking. My dog’s neck measures almost 19″, so I ordered the XL, as per the size chart. The cone fits around her neck perfectly, but the depth is way too much. She is rendered almost blind because the cone extends well past her snout. It is necessary for a cone to be deep enough to prevent chewing, but, as you can see in the photo, the cone is too long. I think we would have been better off going with a Large, as it would have been shorter and she would not have felt so blinded. She kept trying to bat if off with her paws. The good news is that the cone stays firmly in place. The collar loops hold it snugly, so it would be next to impossible for a dog to struggle out of it. It is easy to put on and take off, so that is a definite plus. I think if we had gone with the smaller size, I would have been able to give this a full five stars. The sizing chart might need a disclaimer that if you are on the cusp of a size, consider sizing down, especially if you have a dog with a shorter snout. Her snout is long and it’s still too big. Snub nosed breeds should take note of the length not just the width of the cone.

Excellent comfortable option
This is a soft padded cone with a crew neck collar. Excellent workmanship with super strong Velcro and two straps to snap closed for preventing removal 🙄 The great benefit of this type of cone is the softness and comfort, the drawback is they can’t see through it. I have a plastic one and switch them back and forth to give my post op boy 🐾 a break. This is excellent for short nosed dogs, for my Labrador Retriever it’s borderline too short. Good for preventing licking or biting on their bodies, but not great for eye/tooth surgery. With effort my 85 pounder can smash his face into things😖 Still an awesome tool that I’ll wash and keep on hand for the future. As long as you monitor them or it’s not a face surgery, this is outstanding. Very durable and worth twice the price. So superior to the plastic cones of shame. Looks adorable and not painful for us when he pokes us with it😆

Well made, easy to use, just double check sizing!
This soft cone is really nicely made and seems so much more comfortable than the rigid plastic ones. It’s well-padded, – not heavy- has a easy to put on, customizable fit, and the fabric feels durable and soft at the same time.The quality is definitely there. My big boy was clawing and trying to get it off, and the cone held up perfectly without ripping or coming loose. I love that it’s an easily adjustable alternative that actually seems protective for wound healing after surgery.My only issue was with the sizing. According to the chart I ordered the XL, but it was a little too long on my dog. It fit nicely around the neck, but extended so far that his snout basically disappeared into a tunnel… he looked like he was in a colorful disappearing act! 😂 I’m guessing it’s very breed-dependent. For my guy, the Large probably would have been a better choice than the XL. It did have a bit of a plastic smell but after a day out in the sun, it no longer had that & I felt it was safe to use. Do be sure to plan on airing it out since they’ll have to breathe that yuck right around their nose!Overall, I’m impressed with the construction and padding. Just measure your dog’s neck and head length carefully before ordering. Highly recommend for anyone tired of the old hard cones!

Padded dog cone
I like this soft padded recovery cone for my dog because it’s effective and comfortable for him. The padded cone features a velcro closures and straps to prevent removal by my dog. The strap are the best feature because my dog can’t slip the cone off or use the furniture to pry is open. So if your dog slips off their cone consider this one. The padded high collar is a nice upgrade from the usual clear rigid cone. This one is flexible making it easier for my dog to sleep comfortably. Watch the sizing on the cone for larger dogs. I like it because it’s durable, easy to use, good quality, effective at preventing kicking hot spots, and a good value for the money.

A comfortable pup is a happy pup
Pros:- The collar is really sturdy and durable. The velcro is heavy-duty and the additional adjustable clasps really ensure this thing stays ON. There is even a drawstring tie around the neck to truly get a perfect fit.- The drawstrings allow the cone to easily attach to the dogs collar for added stability.- The cushioning is far more comfortable than the hard plastic my pup came home from the vet with. Even if he runs into things, it’s not jarring with this soft cone.- The colors are bright, meaning added visibility for early am/late evening walks in low light.Cons:- The price point. At 39$, it’s hard to justify purchasing something your dog may use once or twice. Unfortunately it’s not size adjustable for smaller or larger dogs so it’s limited in its use.- The sizing. Because the cone is designed to be really well-fit, it’s not adjustable in some ways, such as the depth. The listing for the size L is 10.6 inches in depth however, this one measured closer to 12 inches. As a result, you can see my dog struggles to see “over” it. His neck girth was perfect so I couldn’t size up or down. What would help is to make the cone from two overlapping panels, horizontally, so that the depth could be adjusted. If it was able to do this, I’d give it a perfect 5 stars because in every other way, it’s a really great pup cone!Verdict: great product, a little higher price with some nuances to sizing. I docked a star for cost and limited depth sizing.
