Not a true pesticide, but rather a repellent.
One of my cats brought in fleas, so of course I was willing to try anything to make sure they didn’t spread around my house….eew. So, this product smells really nice. Obviously, dryer heat is a great solution to killing fleas, but I wanted a little extra piece of mind, especially for things my cats sit on a lot. This detergent smells pleasant. It does not have any actual insecticides, but rather a mix of essential oils to act as a repellent. It didn’t leave any sort of weird residue, but after opening it, the next day it had gotten kind of weird and gelatinous. Overall, a decent product to give you peace of mind in combination with treating your cats and lots of cleaning (and probably a real pesticide if you have a bad infestation).

Peace of Mind + More Wash Options for Sheets
I have the Eco Defense Bed Bug, Mite & Flea Treatment Laundry Additive. My family all have dust mite allergies and dogs that sleep on the bed with us. I have hot and allergen type wash settings on my laundry machine but I really don’t like running so many super hot, extra long laundry loads – this is harsher on fabrics, costly, and depletes the household of hot water we need for other things. I wanted a different solution for ensuring pillows, pillow cases, and sheets are fully rid of mites.Pros- Pleasant smell, I’ve been adding a couple capfuls to the detergent tray in my laundry machine along with the regular laundry detergent. I don’t smell anything different when my wash is done – just the usual laundry detergent smell.- Allows me to wash my clothes in warm or even cold water but still rid my fabrics of mites.- All natural ingredientsCons:- Laundry additives are always a bit expensive, I suppose this is not that different. The bottle has 32 oz and recommended amount per wash load is 2-3 ounces. So the most you will get from 1 bottle is 16 washes. Considering I am limiting this to use with bedding, blankets, etc. that should last me a couple months.I don’t have a powerful microscope to inspect my sheets before and after wash to know with 100% certainty that this product is killing off mites. However since using this additive my sheets continue to smell good, and this additive has not caused any new allergic reactions or dermatitis. I’m going to keep using this.

I am giving this five stars just based on the fact that they created an item or a potential solution to assist with keeping your home clean, keeping your pets safe and doing it with the environment in mind. I noticed this is a plant based laundry additive that the active ingredients are listed along with directions. The fact that you only add maybe 2 to 3 ounces to your wash cycle and you’re working with a 32 ounce bottle, you are getting a lot for your money. When I’m doing my pets laundry it’s never with highly fragrant toxic chemical based laundry detergent. I will generally use an unscented laundry sheet along with some vinegar, baking soda, and put the items on the hot cycle . My home currently host multiple cats and I believe you can have multiple animal and a clean home so that’s why I got this product to try. This is an extra line of defense for your pets health and safety while safe for you, your home and the environment. I think this is perfect for any pet parent… you can have one or 1000 animals in your home and something is bound to make its way in and if you’ve ever dealt with a flea outbreak it’s not fun nor pretty. This is perfect for anything that could come in contact with bugs be it your bedding, washable rugs, clothing, pet bedding, etc, but just having something to address a specific issue associated with bugs and assist with maintaining a clean is a plus and with added peace of mind.Sidenote, this product list it’s good for bedbugs and I have been victim of bedbugs by bringing them back from a hotel stay so this is good to have on hand even if you don’t have pets I focus more on pets because I have so many but keep in mind it can assist with other critters too.*ear mites in the photo*

Easy to Use and Has a Fresh Natural Scent
I bought this laundry additive because I wanted something plant based that could be used safely around the house.
