Collars can be difficult for cats to accept but they’ll get used it them
I’ve had cats my whole life and I’ve found that, of the oodles of different flea treatments I’ve tried, Advantage has been the only one that works. However, occasionally I will still try something that is less expensive such as This Flea and Tick collar for Cats.My cats don’t go outside so they tend to be flea free but one of my cats slipped outside last month and brought fleas into the house and the whole herd of cats got fleas. This Collar popped up in my Vine feed just in time.In the past, any cat I’ve tried to put a collar on would fight and roll around trying to get the collar off. This collar was no exception. I decided to leave it on my cat and see if she’d get used to it long enough for me to figure out if it has an effect on the fleas. It’s important to note that since I only had one flea collar and 6 cats, 5 out of the 6 were treated with Advantage 2. Within a day or two I noticed the fleas were jumping off all of the cats, including the one with the collar, fighting for their lives. As fleas begin to die, you’ll notice they’re a lot slower than they are before treatment. By day 2 I was able to catch the remaining fleas I’d find on the cat with the collar, which means they were dying. You’ll notice your cats will start scratching themselves even more within the first day or two of treatment because it awakens the fleas to a “fight or flight” response. By day 3 all of my cats seemed to be bug free and were no longer scratching themselves much at all. Because the collar is time released, I’ve decided to leave it on my cat for a few weeks and by day 30 I’ll take it off of her because flea larvae can hang around for, at least, a month which means if you don’t keep up with flea treatments, they can come back if the larvae hatches. This is supposed to kill larvae as well as adult fleas but it can take much longer for the larvae to die.Long story short, this is less expensive than Advantage but because it’s a collar that has to be worn for at least a month, Advantage is easier to use because it’s a one and done application, whereas, this collar has to be worn by the cat and stay on for awhile so if they don’t get used to it, it may end up being useless. Either way, this DOES work for fleas in my experience thus far.

I’m very happy with this flea and tick collar for my cat. It was easy to put on, lightweight, and didn’t bother her at all. Within a short time, I noticed a big improvement—no more scratching, and I haven’t seen any fleas or ticks since using it.I also appreciate that it provides long-lasting protection, so I don’t have to worry about monthly treatments.
