Is it Too Tight?
If you think it’s TOO TIGHT, please know snugness is necessary. If your 4 fingers still fit under it, it’s not too tight. Happy Hoodie is made of super stretchy fabric to ensure your dog’s comfort even with a snug fit.
If your pet is unsure about wearing Happy Hoodie, treats and/or praise can be used for positive reinforcement.
We recommend supervising your pet while wearing Happy Hoodie.
Just how snug should this be on my dog? How do I know if it’s too tight?
If at least 4 fingers fit comfortably between your pet’s head and Happy Hoodie, it’s not too tight. For dogs with overly thick necks, fold any excess fabric on the neck onto its head or use your pet’s neck measurement for sizing to aid with comfort.
How does Happy Hoodie reduce noise for my dog? I put this on my head and I can still hear through the fabric.
It’s similar to closing off your ear canal by pressing your ear closed with your finger. With the pet’s ears covering the ear opening, Happy Hoodieās gentle compression on the ears closes off the ear canal, which results in reduced noise.
My dog pawed at it and caused some fraying. Will it still work or will the fraying cause it to fall apart?
Since this is a knitted product, fraying can happen, but Happy Hoodie is very durable! If it gets frayed, it will still keep its stretch and compression and wonāt āfall apartā. Just scissor off the frayed material and keep using it as intended.
I tried this on my dog when it arrived and she didn’t seem to like it. What can I do to help her want to wear it?
Like any calming aid, you won’t know how effective it is until you use it when your dog is upset (most dogs are VERY appreciative when it’s used during stressful times!). If she is still unsure, praise/treats are helpful positive reinforcement aids.
What are the washing instructions, can Happy Hoodie go in the washer and dryer?
Yes it can! Use low heat and be aware that bleach and high heat will reduce its elasticity and longevity. Please do not wash or dry with any object or material that it can snag on, such as Zippers and Velcro, as this can fray the material.

Actually helps calm my anxious pup!
I was skeptical at first, but the Happy Hoodie really surprised me. My dog gets super anxious during grooming and thunderstorms, and this simple little band made a big difference. As soon as I put it on, he instantly relaxed ā no shaking or pacing like usual. It gently hugs his head and muffles the loud noises that usually freak him out.The material is soft, stretchy, and easy to wash, and it doesnāt bother her once itās on. I also love that it keeps her ears dry when bathing and helps speed up drying time afterward. I bought the X-Large and it fits perfectly for my big boy without being too tight.It wonāt be a miracle fix for every dog, but if your pet struggles with loud noises, grooming, or fireworks, itās definitely worth trying. Simple idea, great results ā I wish Iād found it sooner! š¶š

Great for storm anxiety
My las had terrible storm anxiety that caused her to damage things in our home and this has helped her tremendously. I have tried thunder shirts, hemp, CBD, calming sprays, crates, Prozac, etc.The happy hoodie + her prescription medicine from the vet work wonders. The medicine on its own helped, but the happy hoodie calmed her down so much more (last night thunder had our house shaking and she was nervous but manageable.This was very easy to use and it doesnāt seem to bother her. So happy to have found something that works for her and will also prevent her from damaging our home in the process. It is also VERY cute.

Great product, but comes off if your dog shakes their head!
It’s a great product and nice fit on my dog. I only gave it lower stars because my dog has an ear hematoma and is shaking his head a lot and two shakes and it is completely off his head and around his neck. I will most likely use it again for bathing in the future, but I was hoping to help his ears.

Iām so glad I went with this one. Itās obviously great qualityā¦ you can tell immediately. Itās nice and thick, a strong fabric. Itās also very soft. Definitely not scratchy or uncomfortable. I put it on myself before my dog tried it. Haha.Most importantly, of course, is the thickness that ENSURES it will do its intended job of providing comfort and noise reduction. And that itās comfortable enough that my dog enjoys wearing it and it wonāt slip off.We used it immediatelyā¦ first in the bath in order to reduce ear shaking. (My pup had a hematoma that I do not wish to repeat). Then used again while using the grooming dryerā¦ check. No problems at all with being bothered by the air or noise. I almost canāt wait for the next thunderstorm so I can test it out then! But, again, the quality and thickness gives me high hopes that it will help calm my pup thru that, as well.Great product! For the simple design and the degree of skepticism that we had when placing this on our dog, it absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. Our 65lb pitbull terrier is terrified of any loud noises (thunder, garbage truck banging outside, bangs from the tv, fireworks, etc.) and will immediately run back to the bedroom to hide until the noises subside. This was how we actually ended up adopting her when she was 6 months old. She apparently took off on July 4th from wherever she was and was found in a rural area by a rescue agency, hungry and scared. We have tried to take her with us on July 4th outings ever since, but it was always panic and run away regardless of what we did to soothe her. We decided to try this device on her yesterday to see how she did. We took the advice on the instructions to work with her wearing it while it was calm. Each time, she seemed completely at ease and would fall asleep with it on. This year, we went to a concert venue where they would be having fireworks overhead. Before the main fireworks show started, there were other neighborhoods and individuals around us that were popping off their own personal fireworks, which were still loud enough to cause a substantial boom. As soon as she heard the first one, she stood up and started pacing around, rapidly looking for an escape route. We immediately placed the hoodie on her and she sat down, then eventually laid down even while fireworks were going on all around us. Simply amazing. I think she even fell asleep at one point. When the main fireworks came on, she sat up and was a bit shaky, but then laid back down but was a bit shaky so we eventually put her in the car with the hoodie on to not cause her too much distress. We could not be more impressed with how well this worked for her considering she typically would definitely not have tolerated the smaller fireworks, let alone most of the larger fireworks show.The quality of the hoodie is nice, thick and strong enough to be a bit snug but not constrictive in any way. For our pup, we purchased a L. The color is bright and vibrant. Overall, it’s easy enough to stretch to get it in place but not too tight to where it is uncomfortable. It may not work for all dogs universally, but at the price point, it seems like it’d be worth a shot for those who have anxious dogs. Our other dog could not be any more opposite and is not scared of any noises at all. He sat through the entirety of the fireworks show. Pictures are of one of the trial runs at home and then one at the actual fireworks show.Great product, highly recommend.

I got a size Large for my standard poodle and it was a perfect fit. I definitely noticed a difference when I use the happy hoodie vs when I donāt use it. My poodle is way more calm and willing to be blow dried with the happy hoodie on. The material is nice and durable, and slips easily over your dogās head.
