Like a lot of great American success stories, Happy Jack is a company born of necessity. It was the early 1940s in Snow Hill, NC. James G Exum had a kennel full of beloved beagles with mange. Being a tinkerer, amateur chemist, and the owner of a very large Pharmacology book, James mixed up a batch of mange medicine that worked better than anything else on the market. As different ailments struck his dogs, James created treatments to cure them.

Great shampoo for stinky dogs!
I have an itchy frenchie that requires baths more often than other breeds I have had. They can get really stinky, really quick. I have tried many shampoos but this is by far my favorite! The scent is so long lasting and I love how she smells after a bath. It seems to help some with the itchiness but nothing ever works too well. Regardless of that, I will continue to purchase this for the scent and quality alone. It gets her so fresh and clean!

Good thing it was in a bag!
This product works for a itchy dog but it leaks during shipment. Glad they had it in a bag. The product does work good on the dog but it has a medicated smell but as long as it works for my baby, I’ll take the smell!

Wow, this shampoo is amazing! I tried it for two weeks, washing my dog with other products, but nothing worked to get rid of that awful skunk smell the night before a long road trip. I was so worried about the car ride with my smelly dog. But guess what? After we got in the car, I didn’t smell skunk at all! I checked my dog, and it was completely odor-free. I’m so relieved and happy to have found this incredible product. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s dealing with a smelly dog.

Best dog shampoo I’ve ever tried
What I don’t like:I experienced the same thing that a lot of other people have written about, the bottle was not packaged well and it leaked. In fact the package was torn open to the point that I didn’t have to open the package to take the shampoo out. It came right out through the hole.It leaked because the top came loose. It would be a simple matter to put a piece of tape over the top to prevent it from loosening.What I do like:This has been the best shampoo for my dogs. I have tried a dozen different brands and always come back to this. It was recommended by someone at Tractor Supply for our pitbull because they tend to have sensitive skin.We also use it for our poodle mix & boxer mix.All our dogs get a full bath or at least a sponge bath every day.They have no itching or dryness and they smell really good!
