E-Collar alternative interchangeable for both legs designed for dogs after orthopaedic recoveries, such as patella luxation, TPLO, and cruciate repair. Also helps to protect the area from hot spot irritation. Can be used along with a full bandage to protect it from getting dirty, which means less bandage changing needed, or it could be used instead of the full bandage during the end of the healing process to keep it protected and allow airflow to promote healthy incision healing.

Customers say
Customers find the recovery sleeve effective, with one noting it’s better than a cone after surgery. The product receives mixed feedback about its fit, with some saying it’s perfect for larger dogs while others find it too tight. Customers disagree on the functionality, with some saying it works well for TPLO procedures while others report it doesn’t work at all. Moreover, durability is a concern as the straps break within 20 minutes, and customers consider it not worth the money. Additionally, customers disagree on how easy it is to put on, with some finding it easier than a cone while others say it’s very hard to use.

Thankful To Find This Gem!
I love this sleeve. I have found nothing else like it anywhere and I searched everywhere! Our dog had surgery 3 weeks ago and his wound is on his upper thigh. Not one bandage stayed up, not even the vet’s. I ordered the sleeve and waited for Amazon to have it back in stock and now ordering my second so I can wash one. We were changing the bandages every day up to four times a day. His staples came out due to too much energy. He’s 14, but would not just lie down. Finally after the second surgery, the staples came out again and we decided to do wound care. I am telling you, there is not once that the bandages stayed up until we got this sleeve. I did add an ace bandage around his waist to make sure the ties are attached, but I now know that is not necessary. The string is plenty long enough to reach is collar. I did get a harness, but it’s not necessary, yet. The other two ties go around his middle section. I bought a medium and it fits him well. He a 40 pound dog. I am in caretaker heaven right now! I highly recommend this product!

Difficult to get on and stay on
We bought this for a 90# Doberman with an open wound on her leg hoping it would prevent her from licking. It is very difficult to get on and once we figured out the strings she was unable to lean over and drink water without choking herself. We gave up and as we removed it, it stuck to the wound and that was not fun for her or us. It looks cute, reminds me of scrubs, but really didn’t work for our dog.

worked pretty well, but fit was off
I bought this for my dog following her knee surgery. for the first week or so, she also wore a harness that allowed me to hold her back legs off the floor when she walked. the leg sleeve tied into the harness very securely, stayed in place, and kept her from licking her surgery incision. after I removed the harness and just used the sleeve by itself, it didn’t stay in place nearly as well and would slip off, especially overnight. she is a pit bull/boxer mix, so a pretty wide body and neck; it may fit better for other types of dogs. I was worried that the cotton material may get easily soiled and smelly, but it never did.

Worked well
This worked well for our dog after her TPLO surgery. She’s an 80 lb Lab. Depending on how she moved, it did slide and needed adjusting, but overall it worked well, especially for the first couple of weeks or so when we needed to keep her from licking the incision. It washed up well.

Odd attachment
Got for my dog that just had TLPO surgery. The sleeve itself was too long for her leg but even snugged up tight to her body the top seam rubbed on her stitches. Also didn’t realize the attachment was just stretchy material that you tie around their waist and neck! I tied it to her collar instead of her neck but if you tie it right enough to keep it from slipping down her leg then it’s hard for them to move that leg in a natural motion. It took me a few minutes to realize that’s why she couldn’t go to the bathroom, she couldn’t squat. This might work for some, but for $30 I was expecting a bit more than a sleeve of fabric with elastic ties. The material was soft and there was a strip of reflective material, but this just won’t work for my girl

THIS PRODUCT WORKS BETTER THAN ANYTHING ELSE, INCLUDING E-COLLARS!!
This product has been the ONE AND ONLY viable solution for our dogs problem — he had mast cell tumors with one “angry” one on his only remaining rear leg and it bugged him so he chewed at it — relentlessly. We purchased literally every “cone” / e-collar we could find (though we did not get to the kind that I believe inflates to form a round, high collar that does not block the eyes and face but does prevent the dog from getting his / her mouth to locations of interest on the body – we would have tried this next because it looked good) and there were flaws with every other type of collar for our dog. I looked at every other sleeve type option for dogs with only one rear leg and they all looked as though they would not stay up in place, etc. THIS SLEEVE HAS TWO FEATURES THAT MAKE IT EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD! The velcro around the ankle or below knee keeps it in place from that end, and the two different adjustable ties — PARTICULARLY THE ONE THAT GOES TO THE DOG’S COLLAR make the sleeve stay on whether our dog was supervised or not. We were able to adjust the tie that goes around the abdomen very gingerly because he had tumors in there as well, and we adjusted the strap to the neck such that it did not pull on his collar / neck. Both the straps / ties are very stretchy so that once you’ve done your best to pick the right tightness and positioning, it still offers some latitude that it would not if it were non-stretchy. THIS SLEEVE WAS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED FOR MY BOY AND I RECOMMEND IT HEARTILY. It was a relief to find SOMETHING that worked for our guy while he was alive. The cost is excellent as well. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

So Disappointed – Could NOT Get This to Work
Like most pet lovers, I hated the thought of putting the dreaded cone on my dog after a surgery on her hind leg. I was so excited to see the positive reviews on this. I should have read more closely how each of the positive reviews had to rig up some other mechanism to get it to work. Most had a harness that they attached it to. I don’t have a harness. I tried adding all kinds of straps to what it came with to get it to work but the back strap (even the ones I added) just slipped off the back of her rear . She then just drug the thing around still connected to her collar. The problem is that the strap that goes to the neck (which is almost too short to tie comfortably on my dog) is not attached to the strap that goes around the waist (also very short). It’s attached to the sleeve at the same point which means it actually runs along the side of the dog not down the back as pictured. There’s nothing to keep the back strap from falling off. Don’t waste your money. What’s worked better than anything so far is gauze pads and the white medical tape (thin, 4″-wide, breathable stuff from 3M). I thought the tape would stick too much to her fur but it doesn’t hurt her when I pull if off. I add to that a thin sock-like tube from my husband’s foot surgery and secure it at the top with the tape.
