Strong, Leak-Proof, Carries Big Dog Poo without Leaks, Made in China
I’m reviewing HoldOn Compostable Pet Waste Bags, Unscented, Leak Proof, Tear Resistant, 120 bags/8 rolls/15 bags per roll, 2 Pack (240 bags total). These bags are medium weight soft plastic that’s tough and durable. They passed my punch test where I make a fist and moderately punch into the bag. There was a little stretching, but no holes, and it held water with no leaking afterwards. It also passed the real life test of walking our dog and carrying a poo-filled bag back to the house for disposal. These bags are unscented, which I prefer.I chose these bags because they’re compostable and better for the environment. I don’t really need the text on the bag telling me not enough it being done about plastics in the environment. If I didn’t care I wouldn’t have ordered these bags. I’d rather have a cute design on the bag and the environmental jargon on the box. I’m not reducing my star rating because the description photos were clear on what to expect, but thought it worth mentioning. Please give me cute instead of preaching to the choir. These bags measure 13 x 9″ as described and are amply sized for big dog poo.The bags separated easily at the perforations. Each roll holds 15 bags and fits into my standard size bag holder with no issues.I received two boxes with a total of 240 bags.At the current price of $24.99 that comes to $0.10 per bag which seems on the high side; however I find them to be strong, leak-proof, and environmentally friendly. As a side note, the technical details sections says that the country of origin for these HoldOn Compostable Pet Waste Bags is the USA; however, the packaging indicates they’re made in China.

Great bags, easy to open
I’ve tried other compostable style bags and find these to be far superior to others. The bags open easily and do the job they’re supposed to do.

High quality, very sturdy dog waste bags
I really like these compostable, plant-based dog waste bags and really appreciate how quickly they will supposedly break down in a home compost setup. I do want to politely and respectfully note that it’s important to do your research to determine exactly how to compost these without putting yourself at risk. Composting dog deposits is a different process than composting kitchen scraps as there are diseases involved that require higher temperatures to get rid of. Please do some web searching to make sure you know what you’re doing before you just toss these in the regular compost bin, because if you go the latter route, the results will likely be unpleasant. That’s not to say these aren’t great, because they are. We’ve got to start somewhere, and these bags are that beginning. I really love the optimistic messaging on them, too. Small things can indeed lead to lasting change! They’re also just good bags in general; they hold doggo’s gifts securely and safely, and I haven’t had one leak in any of my tests.I’m going to get my home dog treasure chest (that’s polite for “com-poo-st heap”) set up and keep using these. I’ll update this review if they take longer than they should to break down once I have that going, but otherwise, please assume these are as awesome as they say they are.5/5, would definitely recommend these nice doggy dropping carriers.

Really nice bags!
I have three dogs so I go through a lot of waste pick up bags. These bags are really nice. A good thickness, pretty large, and no fragrance or weird chemical scent. I filled one up with water and it was very sturdy, no leaking whatsoever. The huge plus is that these are great for the environment if they are in fact fully composable. I don’t know if this is true as I haven’t tried, but I hope it is!The one thing I did notice initially, is that the rolls are a bit larger than the average rolls. Probably due to the larger size and relative thickness, but I’m not sure how this will play in with people’s bag dispensers, but it shouldn’t be a problem as long as there is a little bit of wiggle room.

These bags are great
These bags are great. They are sturdy, leak resistant and very good size for cleaning up your dog’s business. I have a Great Dane mix who likes to leave me large deposits on his walks and these bags were extremely useful. Something about a walk stimulates him more than a trip to the back yard so the deposits are always bigger. This held well and we didn’t have any blowouts. Are these the largest bags I’ve ever found to use? No but they are a good size and nice and sturdy. They aren’t secreted like some other brands are so if you’re sensitive to artificial smells this won’t give you a headache but it also won’t mast the poop smells either. Being compostable is an added bonus but as another reviewer said do your research because dog deposits have to be handled differently than kitchen scraps. Speaking of kitchen scraps these would work well to contain any smaller items that need to be either composted, just put it all in the bag then when you’re done transfer it to the compost bin. Or if you live in a state that no longer allows plastic grocery bags these will work well for small messes that would either make the not yet full trash bag stinky and have you wasting a bag or for other small messes that need to be removed immediately like indoor dog accidents. Over all these are great and I know compostable items are always more expensive but I did take a star off for the high price point. And my boyfriend would like me to are sure people know that just because a bag is compostable doesn’t mean if you put it in the trash to be sent to the local dump that it will breakdown like it does in a compost bin or pile. A very certain set of criteria need to be met for composting to happen and happen properly. Those criteria often aren’t met by the trash truck that picks up your weekly garbage. Here endeth the lesson from your friendly neighborhood garbage collector.
