Such a great product for the price, it requires WiFi to use but I have never had issues with it failing or not connecting to the network. The set up process is super easy. Personally I also got an additional wall mount similar to a command hook; plugged in the camera, downloaded the app and it basically set its self up from there. Now when I leave the hosue all I have to do is press on from my phone and it has the option to record continuously, by movement, location, lights or sound. I use the movement program as my animals are crated and it gives me peace of mind that my babies are safe, no one’s breaking in and that I didn’t forget to blow out that one candle. For $40 even I would buy this again just for its quality and all of the other options like lights, switches. Locks, plugs that can all be controlled by the app. This cameras photo quality is also really great! It also provides a night time vision (though is black and white) it is very clear and I keep this on at night time as well! Oh the app cost like 3 a month or $30 a year for the record and save capabilities

I’ve had this camera for 2 years and it’s worked mostly great! I’ve had some issues with it not giving me a motion notification so I usually just turn it off and back on in the app and it’s fine BUT I think that is an issue with my WIFI and Not the camera. I’ve used it mainly as security camera to see who’s going in my room when I’m not home it’s worked great for that, the night vision is usually good the first time I set up the cam night vision was great then I got a new WiFi box or something and after re setting it back up the night vision doesn’t really work as good but I believe it has something to do with the position or lighting, no a big deal for me really. Overall it’s a good camera the motion and person detection work well and the recording picture is clear and I believe you can adjust it more in the settings. Also the app is great I don’t recall ever having an issue, set up is pretty easy for the most part. Would recommend

Bought it for my mom. She’s not too savy with tech but it was a VERY FRIENDLY USER SET UP. I love the power cord has plenty of cable for plugging. The app works fantastic!!! Super easy to register and my most favorite is there is no subscription fees unless you’d like to unlock additional features. What the camera offers is enough. I love seeing LIVE footage, looking back at previous recordings because of how well labeled and monitorized it shows. The sound is great and also nocturnal vision doesn’t miss a thing. Definitely recommend.

Great Camera with a nearly fatal flaw
For price/performance this is a tough camera to beat. The image quality is excellent and, so far, network connectivity has been solid. Night vision is solid but we found the motion detection to be hit and miss. We are playing around with the length and sensitivity settings so we might be able to tweak this in so it performs well. So what is the (near) fatal flaw? The microphone. To be fair the microphone is excellent. Like crazy excellent. As in we can hear ourselves clearly on the app from several rooms away excellent. While disconcerting that isn’t the worst of it: you can’t turn it off!!! You can set it not to record but you can’t actually turn it off! Crazy! How is that acceptable on any level?Well, it is not so I covered it. It is very easy to find; it is the little hole on the front bottom left of the device. Personally I used a small silicone foot that I had laying around but I’m sure I could’ve used some tape and cotton (or something to baffle the sound). I only docked one star for this egregious fault because it was so easy to fix. To be clear I did quite a bit of searching on how to disable it through software but the support folks in the Kasa forums are quite adept at intentionally misunderstanding the questing and answering an adjacent question (No Ms. Solla-topee, nobody is asking about how turn off ‘recording audio’ -we want to SHUT IT OFF COMPLETELY….sorry about that).Anyway, the only other issue we had probably won’t be a problem for other people which is the IR LEDs night vision are very (very) bright. We’re using this camera to look out to our front walkway which means it is mounted in a window and when it goes into night vision mode we only see the reflection. I have a work around for that too and since, in standard uses, bright IR would be a good thing certainly didn’t dock a star.Another bonus is that the cloud service is completely optional. We are using an SD card and just saving locally. Seems to work well. On a side note, there are three video resolutions available: WQHD (2560×1440) which they erroneously call 2K (2K is a digital cinema standard that is 2048 × 1080), 1080p/Full HD (1920×1080 as long they are following the standard), and 720p/HD (1280×720 as long as they are following the standard). If you have a laggy network, old phone, or a small SD card you should consider one of the lower resolutions.Overall I would recommend this unit so long as you:A. Don’t care about the always on audio orB. Don’t mind covering the microphone.

Great camera foe the price
Set up was easy, just like all my other kana cameras. I can easily switch between cameras, and review stored footage. Having an SD card store it without a subscription plan is great. Picture quality is great to help keep an eye on the kids in the other room.

Exactly what I wanted. Set up is easy, the app is very easy to use (and doesn’t require a subscription which is wonderful), picture quality is great. I don’t use it often, but love that I can turn on the camera remotely as I please instead of leaving it on 24/7. I also wanted a camera that has a microphone feature. Videos are very easy to retrieve if you want or need to. Also helps that it is super affordable, the only small additional cost was the microSD card (for reference I bought a SanDisk 128GB Ultra which has worked perfectly). Highly recommend!

This camera is a great starting point. Cannot zoom in to see clear details at 150m away. Sometimes the recording of the video is choppy and not smooth, but better than nothing.

Works amazing, picks up and notifies my of noises, motion and people. Not sure what I’d do without it.My only wish is that the power plug wasn’t so big, awkward and ugly. Cord length is great though.

I thought I was buying from Amazon and did not realize when I found a better deal on the same page that it was a 3rd party seller.Long story short I purchased this to use as a baby monitor and realized I could not see all angles of the room, a security issue in my mind.I tried returning the camera and the seller says I am subject to a restocking fee, shipping fees to Quebec and that it is my problem I bought a product that does not work for me.To buy from this seller, you must be 100% certain you will not change your mind as these fees are meant to deter returns.
