RETRACT REVIEW. There was nothing wrong with the fountain. Operator error. Cleaned out the inside and accidentally moved the fountain piece. Water would not come out the top. HELPFUL INFO. DO NOT MOVE THE INTERNAL FOUNTAIN PIECE.We love the fountain! Our 2 dogs and 3 cats love it too.

Original review at bottom, had issues with the original pump. The seller reached out to see if they could assist, sent me two new pumps to see if either would solve the issue. The fountain is now nearly silent, they only time I can hear it is when it is low on water the pump turns off then the water raises and the pump turns on again, water lowers so it turns off again until we fill it. The light turns red to indicate it needs more water, and replacement filters are cheap and easy to install. I very much recommend this fountain for any pet ownerSuper loud, it holds a good amount of water but anytime it gets close to half full it makes loud noises like the pump isnāt running correctly. With how much my dog drinks I have to refill it consistently even thou it isnāt close to empty line. Looking to purchase a different one soon.

As someone mentioned, I’m pretty sure all these things are the same lol. And I feel like I’ve finally figured it out:- The sponge in the pump has to be thoroughly cleaned (I put mine in the microwave for 10 – 15 seconds to kill bacteria).- Be sure to buy the carbon filter replacements as they get gnarly pretty quickly (or I soak mine in a water/vinegar mix for 10ish mins while cleaning the machine) .- Clean the machine out every time the water gets low.- Make sure there’s water underneath all the suction cups so they stay put.My story:The 1st to 2nd week this thing was pretty good. No noise. No problems. By week three I realized that this thing gets nasty very quickly. It already seemed like it needed a new carbon filter. And the little sponge that goes inside of the pump was practically black. It’s also started to make a noise. This was branded as quiet machine, which is something that I didn’t think that I would care about. But after it started making that water dripping noise, I noticed it all the time. I noticed that the first time it made that noise it was because I forgotten to put the sponge back into the pump. But even after I did that sometimes it would still make noise. This thing gets nasty quickly. Very quickly. I actually go so far as to soak the carbon filter in apple cider vinegar and water. And I put the sponge in the microwave for 15 seconds to make sure all the bacteria is killed. I’ve noticed. That you have to clean this thing every time a dog finishes the water. You can’t try to stretch for a few more days. Once the water is all done, it has to be cleaned. For me this is like every 3-4 days. Which sucks, because it’s a pain to clean. But after having this about 1.5 months, I’ve gotten it down. I take everything apart and lather everything up and rinse it really good. That is the only way this thing works.I’ve seen some people say that the motor dies in six months. As I haven’t had it that long, I can’t tell. I’ve also seen people saying that the light doesn’t stay put. I found that the trick is that there has to be water in between the suction cup and the bottom of the machine. Otherwise, no, it won’t stick. As for getting the pump hooked on to the water spout, that is the most difficult part of reassembly. It’s a pain in the ass because the little area blocked off for where it says to place the pump does not align with the water spout. But, now I’ve done it so many times I can eyeball it. It only took a month and a half (eye roll).My dog used to have a gravity water, but I switched to this because I thought that cleaning and refill would be easier; there will be less chance of bacteria growth; and it was a pain in the ass to tip the multiple gallon water jug over onto the base of the gravity water. This is definitely better than that.

Overall this is a nice water dish. I like the large capacity and the ease of cleaning. I like the indication light and the auto power off when the water level reaches its lowest point. The thing that I don’t like is that I have to clean it 2-3 times a week due to the poor design of filter.The material the filter is made of is way too thick to filter the water properly. After 2 days of use the filter is full of slime from the dog’s drool and needs to be rinsed. With that the water doesn’t actually go through the filter it’s just passing over the top and going directly back into the bowl, thus defeating the purpose of the filter.The bowl the filter sits in only has two slits for spouts for the return of the “filtered” water to the bowl. That also prohibits the filter from functioning properly. I think the charcoal filter needs to be redesigned for better performance, and it would work better and have less cleaning to be done. Well, I rated too soon. After the 3rd cleaning for the week, the pump stopped pumping the water it’s running but now pumping the water as it should be. And because it’s past the return time I’m stuck with a now useless water bowl and have to purchase another one.

BEST FOUNTAIN BY FAR!!
I have been through a number of these fountains on Amazon, and this one takes number one BY FAR!!! I was skeptical to purchase another one online. They all say perfect for large dogs, you get it, and it is too small for a hamster. This one is perfect! No sound whatsoever, not even when empty, and you know it is because the light changes from blue to red! No need to bend over or listen for it. You just take a peek when you walk by and right away you can tell. The capacity is a legitimate gallon. A FULL gallon. It is so nice to fill every day rather than multiple times a day for my two large boys. And the best part is my dogs will actually drink out of it. The others are so shallow that a dog cannot get a plentiful drink. This one, while it is still shallow, has a slightly angled grade down to the center of the reservoir. It actually allows for a dog to drink water in a natural way for them. The design and look of it is also very nice. The black/blue that I purchased looks somewhat sleek and contemporary, and I don’t mind having such a quiet, sleek looking water bowl in my dining room. Gotta say, I LOVE it!! Thanks for selling a true product.

We have not done well with this product however the seller has been good. Within a month of use the pump failed. The seller sent a new pump which took three weeks to arrive and then that pump failed after two weeks. The seller in their own accord provided a refund and has tried to trouble shoot the problem by having us take the entire pump apart and try ourselves to fix the problem. Still the level of customer service has been good.
