We Put Science First

Loved by Dogs. Backed by Science.
Big kibble companies don’t want you to know it, but studies clearly show that canines are healthiest when they avoid carbohydrate as much as possible.
Keto is a dog’s natural diet. Your Dog wasn’t built to eat carbs. Feed her as nature inteded with Ketona, the world’s first truly low-carb kibble.
How did we get our start?
Founder, Daniel Schulof, spent 4 years researching and writing Dogs, Dog Food, and Dogma. His book highlights evidence linking carbohydrates with common chronic diseases facing pets.
What makes our products unique?
Ketona contains more protein and less carbohydrate per serving than most expensive, inconvenient raw and “fresh” diets.
What problem are we solving?
Peer-reviewed studies have linked carbohydrate consumption to broad health problems in dogs, including inflammation, obesity, diabetes, elevated insulin and blood sugar level, cancers, and even overall mortality.

Customers say
Customers find this dog food to be the best on the market, with minimal carbohydrate content and excellent health benefits, particularly for diabetic dogs. The kibble size receives positive feedback for being small enough, and customers appreciate that their dogs eat it eagerly. While some customers consider it worth the price, others find it expensive, and there are mixed experiences with diarrhea.

The best dog food ever made!
This dog food is the best dog food on the planet. My dog suffers from severe diabetes. Hills prescription dog food was no help for my dog at all. After hours and hours of scientific research on the internet, this dog food was recommended for dogs with diabetes. This is the ONLY dog food that helps get my dogās glucose level back to normal. Itās the closest thing to a raw dog food diet on the market. Itās 46% protein. Itās expensive but itās worth it. However Hillās dog food is the same price. As far as the taste, Iām assuming itās pretty good since my dog eats every bite at every meal. There is no smell to it whatsoever. Iāve even told my veterinarian about it and suggested they sell it. I order from Amazon because I can get it quicker from amazon than from Chewey, and I love Chewey. All I know is this: when my dog is on this food and NOTHING else, along with his insulin, his glucose level actually stays in the ānormalā range. On ALL other brands, his glucose level stays in the 400-600 range. One last note. At 85 pounds, on Ketona, he requires less dog food than what he requires with other brands. That does offset the cost somewhat.

Best food on the market.
I canāt say enough about this dog food. I have read and searched for a true low carb dog food for my 11 year old active Springer Spaniels. After researching extensively over the years for quality dog food, I made the conclusion that I would need to start making my own food to keep my Springer babies healthy. I was reluctant to go this route because of how complicated it can be to provide the essential nutrients for aging dogs. I had followed Daniel Schulof a bit and liked his story. When he created this dog food, I was thrilled. Based on what I had read, I trusted his judgement more than the big companies.Fast forward to 9 months of feeding my dogs Ketona. I will preface this with the fact that my dogs are active. They do 5 to 7 miles a day on leash and running wild change birds on the beach in South Georgia. They both have food sensitivity and started to gain weight. Lots of weight compared to their activity level. Other dog foods were not satisfying their hunger so at times I was over feeding them. Their coats were dull and they were beginning to have fatty lumps all over their bodies. Since the switch, they are back to a normal, fit weight. The fatty lumps have reduced and some have gone away. Their coats are once again soft and shiny. My female was showing signs of weakening back legs. The constant tremors were scaring me. The vet told me I needed to cut back her exercise drastically. I did for a while until I could get her back to a normal weight. Her back legs rarely shake and she is happily chasing her tennis ball again since I switched to this food. This food is a little more expensive but it is cheaper than a raw diet. It is well worth the convenience. I have 11 year old dogs that most people think are 5. I canāt wait for my vet to see them next week. She was not on board with all my food experimentation. Like most vets, she has been trained to recommend food that doesnāt make sense for dogs.

Keto for my dogs
I love this dog food. I bought it, looking for keto dog food after my dog had a cancerous lump in her neck that was removed and grew back. While I’m not sure how much this dog food has helped, the bump has remained small and we’re almost 2 years later! If lower sugar diets are good for humans, then certainly it’s good for dogs too.

Better than many but is it the best for value for price???
In a rush to get my two Shih Tzu puppies off of the Puppy Chow they came home with, I did a quick look around and found Ketona. Overall I like the brand, food smells much better than low quality stuff, small kibble size is perfect for my pups and poops are less but still more than I expected from a higher quality food. First bag I bought (from another website) seemed fresher than the bag I bought from Amazon. Kibble could be crushed with a spoon or strong fingers unlike the Amazon “rocks”. Not saying it’s Amazons fault as the expire date was still valid. Value for money? Although this food is of much better quality than most stuff on the market I’m not sure it is the best kibble my money can buy. I’m currently researching a few other brands that have a higher protein content and carbs are just as low as this one but the price is slightly less. If the price point wasn’t so high I may have stayed content and never started my quest to find the ultimate kibble but its game on now.Money isn’t really an issue but if I’m paying a premium I want the best. I will continue to feed this as I finish my research. At this point I wouldn’t hesitate to keep this brand in my pups rotation of higher quality foods especially since there was no need to “transition”, they switched over cold turkey without any digestive upset!
