Reduce your pets’ frustration and increase your bond with the innovative Pet Chime system Train your pet to use this simple system to alert you when they need something. The battery-operated transmitter and receiver units are cordless for your convenience with a 100 ft (30.5 m range) and two sound options, a bright chime or a deep “woof.” The wireless Pet Chime Receiver includes wall-mount hardware or can be placed freestanding or moved as needed to wherever it works best for you and your pet. How does the Pet Chime system work? When your cat or dog lightly presses the moisture-resistant Pet Paw transmitter with a paw or nose, it activates an audible signal on the receiver. With time and consistent responses from you, you should see a reduction in frustrated scratching, barking and whining as your pet learns they can effectively communicate their needs. Train your pet to use the Pet Chime System: Step 1: “Bell!” Hold the Pet Paw button close to your pet’s paw or nose and say “Bell!” When they touch it, praise them and quickly reward them with a treat. Repeat as needed until they confidently press the button at your command, moving the Pet Paw further away as you work on it. Step 2: “Outside!” Once your pet has learned to touch the button on cue, place the unit near the door and say, “Bell!” When your pet presses the button, quickly open the door and take them outside while praising them. With repetition, your pet will learn that when they ring the chime, you will open the door to let them out.

Be Careful what you wish for…..
This really works. We own a bichon and did not want him scratching doors to signal us that he needed to go out. When we first set it up on the floor the dog had a problem with the concept of standing on it to produce the signal. We elevated the device about 4 inches on a weighted block and secured the device with velcro. We followed the training instructions that are included and had a very happy dog. After only a few days our dog had us completely trained to respond to the chime. We delighted him with our drop everything attitude and reinforced his chime activations with immediate action and treats. This added sense of control gave our dog confidence that we could be trusted to come when chimed. Then we added a second chime device in the family room. Our dog has learned that activation of this device has trained us to respond to a whole array of needs. At 5pm our dog chimes for his dinner. At 7:30pm he chimes for doggy tv and for us to join him on his sofa. We are also trained to respond to walk time and frisbee chimes promptly or face more incessant chimes followed by his jumping on the chimes to produce short rapid signals that force the human into quick submission. Yes, this device not only works it surpassed all expectations. I never dreamed I would be so controlled by my dog and love it.

Pet Chime Does Not Work
The chime does not sound when the Pet Paw is on the floor or by the door. It will sound when activating it in your hand. We had a Pet Chime for years and it worked fine when the paw was placed just outside the back door or on the porch by the kitchen door. The chime was indoors & set in various locations in the kitchen. We purchased it when our dog was a pup and he is now 12 yrs. old. It has lasted that long with no problems. Periodically, we would have to replace the battery. I called The Koolatron company today and they said it may be defective and to contact you where it was purchased. My dog uses the chime so that we will open the door — we are in need of it. Hope you can help us.We have triple checked the batteries and workings in the chime and pet sections, no luck. Thank You, Violet Cukar

pretty sweet
Pros: awesome idea for a product, works great and love love love that it is weatherproofover all works great but did take some adjusting for the dog to get used to. batteries last surprisingly long amount of time in the cold monthsCons: i wish the whole unit was a button b/c our dog had trouble pressing the one specific placeand in really cold weather (South Dakota gets into the negatives a lot) the outside unit (we have one both inside and out) tends to freeze up which stinks for our dog who is stuck outside for a little longer until we realize what is going on. just something to think about if you live in a blizzardy tundra but this doesn’t happen often.and it could be a little less cheesy but what do you do overall product works great our dog loves it and overall I love it!

Would not recommend this system. Z- Pay attention to all the negative reviews on this
Pay attention to all the negative reviews on this. I was desperate and gave this a try but it is completely unreliable. I bought this complete system and 2 additional paws. All 3 paws were unreliable. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. That just doesn’t work for me. I need reliable. Would not recommend this system. Z- Seller only gives you 7 days to try it out. You can’t really do that with a dog/s trying to get them to learn this before you realize what a complete piece of junk this is. Now I am stuck with it. Seller will not take it back. And, considering how junky this system is, an exchange for another is ridiculous.

Not that loud or able to receive signal from too far
I’m a little less than satisfied considering how much these items cost. The ringing unit is not nearly as loud as I had anticipated. I had to find a very central spot for it to be heard reasonably on the two sides of the house, and the house just isn’t that big. Additionally, I purchased an additional foot switch so that I could have one by each of the back doors. One of them didn’t have enough signal strength to reach the ringer unit which was no more than 30′ away!! In the end, I took the foot pedal apart to see what I could do, and brother was it a cheap unit inside. I was able to adjust the one and only potentiometer and the signal strength is now strong enough to reach the ringer unit. As far as useful for the dog, we haven’t trained the dog for that yet. I really see no reason why it shouldn’t work for that purpose, that depends on the dog. But as a ringer, it leaves a lot to be desired.

I love this. This’s our second one for our dog sitter, so we don’t have to remember to bring this bell everytime we leave our dog with her.It was quite easy to train our lab to use it, just she’s pressing it with her nose not the paw as it recommended.

instructions said to turn a hidden screw until it chimed , however, there was nothing in the hole to turn, probably just a defective one, as soon as I receive my refund I will order another because it is too freaking cute

It works, it was easy to adjust, although my hubby is a tech guy, however our dog has yet to figure it out, we are working on it with him every day though, so hopefully!Sometimes when you press the paw it doesnt work, so hopefully we teach our dog to press it multiple times if he has to go out.

This chime does not work. Never used, just out of box, new batteries and doesn’t work. Don’t waste your money.
