Durable, Premium features at affordable price
Overall, I would highly recommend the Mammoth Guardian kennel. I own numerous SportPet kennels and was thrilled to see Mammoth and SportPet have teamed up to create this Guardian kennel. The Guardian certainly lives up to its reputation for toughness with numerous unique features that although small, they combine to make a significantly improved kennel. Our family regularly travels into the mountains for hikes or to the coast for days at the beach, consequently, I wanted a kennel that was tough and could withstand a lot of abuse either at home or when traveling. The Mammoth Guardian certainly delivers a tough, durable kennel.PROS:+ DURABLE! This is a tough kennel, designed to withstand abuse. I enjoyed their marketing video where they dumped it off a tractor, so I tried a similar experiment and threw the kennel down 12’ and it was fine (see video) thanks to thoughtful design touches including rubber bumpers on the corners and gaskets between the top and bottom molds. I believe their marketing video was honest, as I have beat up this kennel pretty well and it has withstood the abuse really well (just mud and grass stains). The door frame has six attachment points into the plastic shell of the kennel which makes it very secure and helps solidify the kennel – the door has a metal frame which attaches into the plastic kennel by 4 screws plus two “wings” on the sides that each have an eyelet to receive the bolt attaching the two plastic shells of the kennel. Another one of those “small details” that I like – they have the vent-holes angled outwards so dogs inside can not chew on them! As we have a labrador retriever puppy who likes to chew anything he can get his mouth on, I love this feature as my dog has not yet even tried to chew on them.+ Easy: The door handle is very unique and extremely easy to use, dare I say the best handle I’ve seen on a dog kennel? It’s easy to use with a round grip that you rotate to open or close. No more pinching, squeezing, fingers slipping off small tabs, or any other pains associated with “traditional” kennel doors. On top of the kennel, the Guardian has two comfortable handles to make lifting and moving it easy. The rubber bumpers on the bottom not only provide cushioning to protect the kennel, but they also help keep the kennel from sliding around on surfaces.+ Versatility: There are wheels labeled as “optional”, but after my initial assembly I decided to attach their bases to the bottom of the kennel and found the wheels very easy to attach or detach. The wheel-bases do not protrude below the rubber bumpers on the base so they’re relatively discrete and hidden. The overall kennel size is nice that it’s large enough for many dogs – our labrador retriever puppy is currently 75 pounds and fit in there comfortably, was able to turn around, etc. However, the kennel is still compact enough to easily fit inside the back of a mid-sized SUV (there was room to spare when I put it in our 2024 Buick Enclave).NEGATIVES:-Assembly: It was relatively easy to assemble (it’s just a bunch of bolts with washers and wingnuts – easy enough that my 12 year old son could do it). However, assembly does take a few minutes, so now that I’ve assembled it I doubt I’ll be disassembling it or storing it in a smaller footprint. This is not an issue for me as we have a collapsible SportPet kennel that we can quickly setup or breakdown if needed – we intend to leave this Guardian kennel setup full-time on our patio or in our car for road-trips.-Tightness: There were some minor gaps between my two shells when I first assembled it as evidenced by light being visible between them when looking from the inside. However, this was easily solved when I tightened down the wingnuts while holding the screws in place with a screwdriver.Overall, I would highly recommend this kennel – it is a well-designed, tough product that makes dog containment easier!

Top tier travel kennel
This is my second Guardian kennel. I was excited to see new colors to better match my truck’s color scheme. We’re avid off-roaders and love to adventure, so the rubberized corner bumpers on this kennel dampens the terrain for a more comfortable ride for our border collie. It also helps with the typical plastic clunking when moving the crate around or setting it down on hard surfaces. I’m a huge fan of the twist latch over the typical pinch latch, which is long nail-friendly and makes it so much easier to avoid breaking a nail.Since I am always traveling with the dog, the kennel permanently stays in the 4Runner (it fits perfectly up against the rear bench and doesn’t bump into the hatch when closed). On the rare occasion that I do need to take it out for cleaning such as after beach days, I don’t have to disassemble anything. Just lay the crate down with the door facing up and spray down with the hose. Light scrub with a cleaning brush, if needed. Everything naturally drains through the vents. Haven’t had any issue with odor retention with our first kennel despite heavy usage so I don’t expect one with this one either.The crate is heavy duty and because of that, it’s on the heavier side but not unmanageable as a 4’ 11” female and still worth its weight in safety and durability. It seems to be the perfect size for medium (and smaller) dogs. My border collie fits in it perfectly at 65 lbs. In the event that I fly with him, this is definitely my kennel of choice as it’s also airline-friendly.

Best dog kennel and best company ever.
This company is top drawer. I had problems with lost items during Amazon shipment but the made everything right and shipped parts right away. Their customer service is as good as it gets. They went beyond all expectations. This kennel is awesome. Assembly is easy.The kennel is tough as nails. I can’t express how good this company is from the product to the service. A+++++

Terrible product
Terrible product!! I read alot of reviews before purchasing this. I thought this would be nice and sturdy. Has a large gash on the inside. Bolts and washers missing. The hardware was strung out all over the box and the crate is covered in black hair. Horrible product.

Great investment for large breeds!
After a little rough patch, this crate turned out to be a great purchase. One of my hyper German shepherd dogs managed to do something to mess up the door latch. I reached out to the manufacturer/distributor who was extremely helpful. They were happy to replace the door quickly. Strong, sturdy, comfortable crate. Very pleased. This one outshines VariKennel, Petmate, Remington, etc. I’ve been raising German shepherds for 60 years and showing/ doing dog sports for 40. Trust me; I know a good product, and the manufacturer really wants you to be happy. Definitely recommend this! Here are pix of some of my pack

Fantastic Premium Kennel
Received Guardian Kennel a couple weeks ago. Very Strong, well built kennel . I have labs and goldens and this kennel is a good size / fit . The corner bumpers are really cool , they really make the kennel stick and not slide around . Actually quite amazing how they grab and im sure they offer a lot of protection. The door and door frame is super beefy . This Guardian kennel feels really safe and secure.

Strong and sturdy
Very sturdy, strong material and the door is quality. Do not think my dog can damage this one from the inside. It has rubber raising it up from the bottom keeping it from scratching the floor. Took a little to set up and haven’t installed the wheels.
