The perfect choice.
My new 12-pound chihuahua loves it! The food they gave me from the shelter had a slightly strange smell, so I took the advice of others and purchased this new food. I mixed it together to get her used to it, and she loves it! Her funky breath is gone and her poops are good. 🙂

So far Bill has no bad odor since I put him on it last Saturday
My french bulldog, Bill, loves this food and after being on it only one week he doesn’t have that awful odor. However, the dog food came with a rip in the side of the bag and food leaking out. I put duct tape on the side of the bag. But I’m disappointed in that it was shipped in a large box with sufficient packing all around it (well secured in the box so rip not due to shipping) therefore, they had to know it had a rip in the bag before they shipped it.PRO: I like the small pieces which are easy for Bill to swallow.I like the self sealing closure of the bagI like that it has some good ingredients and the pieces are much smaller than the Acana brandCon: None yet except for negligence of seller in giving me a bag with a ripNote: I will have to feed it to him longer to find out how his skin reacts to it. He is hypersensitive to a lot of dog foods. I had him on Fromm Salmon for about three years but he kept breaking out and had a horrible body odor so I switched him to Acana brand. He did pretty good on Acana for about a year, more or less, then started breaking out again and the same body odor. I will do a follow up on how he reacts to this food.Bill’s story: My vet started him out on Science diet prescription for sensitive skin when he was about 6 to 7 months old.He was on it for about two years, more or less, before the doctor realized Bill was allergic to it too. Bill had to go about every three months for steroid regimen to keep the break outs at bay. This went on from the time he was a puppy until the doctor took him off of Science diet at about age 3. Then he had a super reaction to a lepto combo shot and nearly died. I haven’t taken Bill back to the vet in five years. The Fromm diet worked well for three years until Bill suddenly started breaking out again and once again had that horrible smell. Fromm could have changed their formula I don’t know. Through reviews I found Acana brand and kept him on that for about a year maybe a bit more. At first he cleared up then the breakouts started again and so did the odor. Keeping my fingers crossed that Merrick will help Bill to clear up.

Great dog food!
I previously purchased this brand in the 4 lb size for my growing puppy and needed to take her off the food she was on because the nutritional value was not up to my standards. Trying to find decent pet food can be confusing, stressful and very expensive for pet owners. I decided to go with Merrick, after previously feeding it to my Chihuahuas very successfully for years. This time around I purchased the 12 lb bag and am very happy with the results. My puppy’s coat looks so much better, the other brand made it dull and dry. Plus, she looks so much better all the way around. Thank you Merrick and Amazon!

My dog loves it
I have a 3 year old 15 lb golden doodle and he is a little picky and sensitive, but loves this kibble and has never had any tummy issues from it. I feed him half kibble and half fresh food. The vet says he is healthy! We love Merrick.

First of all for $31.00 and for such a small bag is ridiculous. Secondly, both of my small yorkies will not eat it so now it just sits in the container until I can get rid of it. I can’t return it because I do not have the bag I bought the food in. I do not recommend this dog food at all!
