Replace the collar 1st.
I have two dogs. I bought a set for them and like many other reviews I’ve read, the collar is the problem. We lost one that was found by my lawn tractor. We replaced it (a 3rd collar). Then one of the posts attaching the collar to the device broke. I had air tags attached to the collar so I found it, but I have no way of attaching it to my dog now. Thinking about buying a 4th, but at $100+ each, I might go look for a different brand. If I do get a 4th, I’m replacing the collar immediately.

Works well, collars are too slippery
I ordered 3 of these for my dogs and while they worked as advertised and kept my dogs home, they have a slippery rubber collar and since I have 3 dogs and they wrestle each other all the time the collars kept getting loosened. I kept tightening them but the inevitable day came where they wandered into our woods and loosened each other’s collars and ran away. I have tried in to find the collars with help but no luck. It’s a shame because the collars do work as advertised. Maybe if they had some sort of GPS on the collar so I could find it when it slips off or if they just went to a regular collar type of material.Update: the seller was FANTASTIC! They reached out to me and made it right, great communication and great service. Definitely recommend.

The collar breaks
Spectacular device if only the collar itself wouldn’t break off when my golden retriever scratches. I’m really sad because the sound is loud and scares our dog so he doesn’t test the boundary. However that’s pointless when the collar breaks a day after wearing it. I was hopeful it was fluke after the first one so I ordered a second and the second collar did the same thing. If they ever put a fabric like collar on this device I would repurchase!

Keeps my dogs home.
These collars work perfectly for us. We live on a large acreage and we need something that just keeps the dogs home as they like to go visiting the neighbors. These collars are effective. We have it set at the max distance, it just keeps the dogs from getting too far out and then distracted by the wide open spaces. You can not set specific boundary lines to follow your property. If you need something to keep the dogs in the general area, this will be perfect. If you need to keep them in a specific area, they might not be great. Excellent price. We had the previous model for 3 years. This new version has a little bit better battery life than the older style. My dogs are ranch dogs, and they haven’t ruined one yet, so I think they are pretty durable.

Good for a single environment, sets a radius around a single point.
This isn’t like other collars I’ve used. You don’t set the location with an app and it won’t show you where your dog is, you set everything up on the collar itself. Go to the middle of the area where you want to let your dog wander and set the location. Then you set how far you want your dog to be able to go in a circle around that area.If the dog gets to the edge it’ll beep. As the dog gets closer it’ll vibrate. You can turn the shock function on, it’s not there by default.You get flags to put at the edges of the barrier during setup (just walk around with the collar and wait for it to vibrate. Put a stake in the ground there.The thing is, those aren’t for you — they’re for your dog. Your dog will begin to associate the stakes with the border and will eventually learn the boundary. Take every other stake off each week until they’re gone and you dog almost certainly know exactly how far they can go.This is a decent idea for use in single environment, I don’t recommend moving it around or your dog won’t know how far they can go and are likely to break free chasing a squirrel or something.

Upgrading from last version (which are 100% fully functional) just want a snap collar vs old buckle. Buy 2 units ALL GPS collar brands charge do not last > 24 hours. Swap one out while other is charging. Just remember to reset your radius periodically due to drift. ALL GPS collars drift. I also have 3 Halo 3 collar units. Works just as well as the Halo and battery last 2x longer. No drawing pets perimeter like Halo just a set radius which is fine if you own a lot of acreage. No live tracking and fancy app, but NO monthly fee either. I bought these as back up to the Halo for my 160lb livestock guardian dog. Just in case i get home late or plan an overnight trip, I know this one is still charged vs the Halo which always dies between 12 to 16 hours vs this one solid 24 hours. If you are going to be using daily buy one like this with a snap closure. The buckle style is a pain especially if your dog has long hair.

Great Product, Suits Our Needs
As always, extremely satisfied with My Pet Command product. Works as advertised, rugged, durable. Easy as pie to work the features, even for a Luddite like myself.We live on acreage that is more than half heavily forested, plus we get lots of rain. No problem with the product. Holds up to the wear and tear and keeps the dogs in their area. We love My Pet Command and highly recommend.
