Product description

15 years ago Nooby’s started out like so many other entrepreneurial ventures; an idea and the drive for a solution.

Being the true dog lovers that we are, (Nooby was indeed the inspiration behind everything and sadly passed away a few years ago), our company came together as a labor of love and our desire to help animals. After a minor procedure on his front paws and with the veterinarian issuing strict instructions not to get the bandage wet for fear of infection, our founder came up with the concept of a disposable dog booties that would last for the duration of the recovery process.

After quickly learning how limiting the options were to protect bandages, splints and casts of dogs recovering from standard procedures, it became our aim to get our booties into every animal hospital and clinic.

From there Team Nooby’s went into the R & D phase and began the creation process – working on a disposable dog bootie that could be reused and recycled and one that would work for both pet owners aiming for clean floors and healthy paws, as well as for dog owners and veterinarians needing a better post‐op solution for their patients.

Nooby’s Booties made their retail debut in 2006, after being named one of ten Best New Products at the annual Global Pet Expo. The biggest compliment was that we were told that we had finally solved the age old problem of infected wounds, in a low cost, convenient way.

We continue to hear about the lack of options that you have when leaving a vet office (old IV bags are still being offered as an example) and with our booties, you now have an effective, very low cost, vet approved solution!

Thanks,

Team Nooby

Customers say

Customers find the dog booties work well for keeping wounds clean and preventing dogs from licking their injuries. The booties are easy to put on and take off, and customers appreciate that they can be trimmed for a better fit. However, they report mixed experiences with slipperiness, with some saying they hold securely while others say they fall off when tied. Moreover, durability is a concern as customers report they rip right away, and water resistance is also mixed, with some finding them waterproof while others say they don’t protect against wet conditions. Customers disagree on the quality of the product.

    Wonderful product – Ted Approved
Great product! Our Teddy as you can see is built a little differently and needs what we refer to as (his socks or a sock) on one of his back feet at all times. These bags work great so that he is able to go outside, on adventures and run around without worrying about his wrap getting wet, dirty or causing him any discomfort. We swear by these!

Super light weight which means easy to tear. Also hard to put on
It is a pain to have to put this onto a puppy’s foot when he needs to go out. These are too slippery to keep on in the house and outside I can only use them on the grass otherwise they rip in a couple of steps and are no longer water proof. They are so annoying to put on and slip off if you don’t wrap it once around the ankle as well. Would not buy again

    Works buts time consuming
This product definitely works well. Kept my dogs paws dry and safe from the salt on the sidewalks. They are a little hard to put on. My dog didn’t like sitting to get them on, usually took two of us to do it. I also feel the ties were way too long. Maybe next time I try extra small instead of small.

Easy on – ties come off and not water resistant
I really needed something to cover the splint my dog had to wear for 6 weeks. It wasn’t supposed to get wet. The first 2 I used the ties came right off when trying to tie – I used a rubber band instead. Then I developed a bigger problem when I used them to send my dog out for a quick potty in light dew – they are not water resistant and off to the vet I went to have the bandages replaced. $110 bill from the vet. I was so excited about these because they were wide enough to go over the splint – most durable boots/covers are too narrow. Save yourself some money and buy the medipet boots as they are truly water resistant (and durable) and you won’t have the same issues as we did! Oh and they’re non returnable – geez……

Work as intended but terrible quality
I had a terrible time finding booties (disposable or not) that fit over my puppy’s foot cast. He broke his toe and had a 4 inch wide round cast that extended up to his elbow. The cast had to be protected from moisture/water and had to be sturdy enough to wear outside for potty breaks. We used these for the whole 6 1/2 weeks my puppy had the cast and we went through 5 packages of these. At over $18 a package and only 8 booties per pack, this was a VERY costly solution. Since I couldn’t find a single alternative, we were forced to use these. The biggest problem was that the material these are made from is very thin and not at all durable when used outside. We have a small concrete patio and then all grass. Walking around for just one potty break is all it took to wear one or more holes in the bottom of the bootie and moisture was able to get into his cast. Finally after several extra bandage changes at the vet to replace wet bandages, we started reinforcing the outside of the bootie with waterproof duct tape. This actually worked and kept the bootie waterproof (finally). This way we were able to get several wears out of each bootie as long as our puppy didn’t chew off the string required to secure the bootie on his ankle. In summary, this is a very expensive solution between the cost of the booties and the cost of waterproof duct tape. Note that the cheap duct tape is not waterproof. The booties require multiple layers of duct tape so you’ll need several large rolls to make it 6 weeks.Hopefully soon another company will come out with a more durable bootie. This is the only one I could find that fit our needs (large enough to protect a 4 inch wide round cast, waterproof and can use outside) at this time, but I hope you’re able to find a more cost effective solution for your pup/dog.

Great for Therapy Animals to Working in Healthcare Facilities!
Nooby’s Veterinary Dog Boots allow me to protect my dog’s paws from the germs & virus on the hospital lobby floors and wards where we work. They are easy to put on and take off after our 2 hour shift. My Golden Retriever & I are pet therapy partners at a children’s hospital in Orlando, Fl. I was looking for protective K9 boots to minimize the risk of transmission of germs and viruses from the floors and elevators to my car and home. We tried many different brands on the market before finding Nooby’s as the solution to the problem. The boots provide more traction on the slick Hospital floors than his bare paws. I do keep his nails short and filed so they have not ripped through while visiting patients. I would recommend for anyone with a Therapy Dog.
