Good scent containers, easily dented though
I am training my dogs as conservation scent detection dogs and ordered these containers for training. These are a bit bigger than the tins I’ve had in the past, which I find very useful for storing larger distractors. There is plenty of ventilation to allow the odor to escape.The tins do hold odor themselves, so make sure you use a marked subset as “hot” containers! I empty the hot tin after every use, and still after washing out the hot tin yesterday and leaving it out to dry, I can smell the birch quite strongly myself.I didn’t expect this type of container to be overly sturdy. Lightweight and easy to use was my priority. Just know that they do dent fairly easily. My dog got a little excited on his alert yesterday and made some dents in the cover. Nothing that concerns me, but if it bothers you, keep your dog from getting to them directly. I set them in toilet flanges.The other thing that’s different about these is they are screw tops rather than slide on, which my previous tins were. Those tins locked up after some time of non use, so I think this type will be preferable.

Great for refillable odor absorbers!
These work great for my purposes. They are lightweight and easily dented, but they were perfect for making easily refilled odor absorbers. I cut coffee filters to the size of the lids and glued them on (they come with a foam disc but I wasn’t sure if air would pass thru it easily). Each container can hold about 1/4 cup of baking soda. The lids screw on easily but securely enough I can throw these into storage bins to absorb odors without fear they’ll come apart inside. In my case I sell used and upcycled clothing, which sometimes has odors from previous users like perfume so having lightweight small odor absorbers I can throw into bins of clothing and easily refill at will means even if a scent doesn’t readily wash out, over time in storage the baking soda will work odor absorbing magic. These are great for this purpose.
