Excellent Product-NON GMO-weight loss occured
I use Ultra Nutro for all three of my dogs, but I noticed my middle one, Marley, a boxer/lab mix and three years old, was getting a little chunky around the waist. This was mostly due to extra treats because he is such a good boy, but nevertheless the weight was there. So I ordered this Healthy Weight version, and by the time he finished the bag he was back to his normal weight-I caught it early because I have seen hugely fat dogs and the struggles they have and didn’t want that happening to my Marley. I love Ultra Nutro because all ingredients are NON GMO and for the most part healthy compared to other dry kibble dog foods. Most importantly, because you know how dogs are-if they don’t like it they won’t eat it-Marley LOVES this good-whether regular food or healthy weight, Nutro has flavors all my dogs love, and knowing they are not eating GMO’s is iimportant to me.

We have been buying thus dog kibble for 17 yrs now. It’s a high end dog food and it contains all natural ingredients too. We use this dog food in conjunction with the Badlands Ranch food. Great combo and it’s so healthy too.

Good food if the price is right
My dog likes this food. It seems like a good product. I do not like the frequent price fluctuations. Keep an eye on the pricing. If reasonable, this is a good buy. Also, I have had some issues where Amazon has used the post office to deliver, and the post office didn’t want to deliver a 30lb bag. I didn’t have this problem the most recent time I purchased it, but I did two previous times. If Amazon is going to outsource deliveries (a private company using a government corporation), they should verify that the item is deliverable.

Best low calorie dog kibble
How do you tell a hungry toddler they can’t have anything to eat? How do you do tell them when they don’t speak or understand the your language? I don’t think of my fogs as human, but I consider our communication as toddler and adult. That’s where this kibble comes into the picture. I have 3 very intelligent, cooperative, very busy, active, herding breed dogs. They receive 2 meals a day and various value treats throughout the day. Their weight needs to remain stable and safe so it doesn’t hurt them in their activities. They compete in and train in agility, scent detection, obedience, rally, FastCat, rat hunting activities and etc. Ages are 7-10 years. Part of their diet is Nutro healthy weight at 231 calories/cup. It allows them to eat, and yes, they ask to eat, it works well in treat dispensing toys, and is a great addition to their lifestyle of ever learning. When they learn to climb the 9ft A-frame, or jump 20″ for agility, the kitchen counter is nothing. Scent detection in public places makes a garbage can an easy find in a home. The positive training techniques have made them an incredible team, and supplementing their diet with a low cal, balanced nutrition kibble has kept the toddlers happy without becoming overweight. I realize my approach to dog training may not be mainstream since they receive treats throughout the day to reward good behavior I want repeated. I am also confident this balanced kibble diet can be used for weight loss along with mental and physical exercise. They need crunch and volume without the impact of additional calories. So it’s necessary to have forage type calories. That isn’t a complaint, it’s a gift to the dog that doesn’t understand why it must go hungry to lower calorie intake. This product helps them not to be as hungry.

Our 10 year old designer dog (sounds better than mutt) has eaten this food since she was a puppy. As the bag says , this is adult dog food, and designed for “healthy weight”. When we first adopted our puppy (a mix of dachshund, Jack Russell, Chihuahua and Mini Pin), our vet told us that since there was dachshund in the mix, we needed to keep an eye on her weight. She kept throwing up her chicken based food, so we found this Nutro product and gave it a shot…and the rest is history…she’s been enjoying it for 10 years. She has always been a healthy and playful dog…at 10 she still plays and runs like a puppy (if only we humans could do that!). Her favorite day is when a new bag of food arrives, and we pour it into the vault. She spends the next 30+ minutes in and out of the bag…no doubt licking every possible surface! At time she will tear the entire bag apart (the only thing she has ever chewed/torn in her life)…it is adorable as heck…and it’s very clear that she is a fan of this food!

The food quality always seems good but the last 3 bags we ordered were had a hole in them. 2 were just small holes at the top. 1 was a large hole at bottom.Looked like a forklift had poked a hole in it. Half the food was gone and they just taped it up and shipped it as is. The amazon box is always intact but the dog food bag is hit or miss lately

We have sworn by this dog food since both of our dogs have been considered “Adult”. It’s been great for their overall health and weight management. However, I am giving 4-stars because one of our dogs is very sensitive to what he eats and we specifically subscribe to the “healthy weight” version of Nutro for his needs. Our last order that came in this week, was the normal “Adult” version and no the “Healthy Weight” version, which our dog has trouble keeping down. they are also significantly larger kibble. Would be 5/5 if we got the right dog food.

Nutro Healthy Weight really does work, my dog lost 25 pounds on it. Now he’s on the maintaining amount. when the price got too high, I switched to another brand and my boy gained weight again so I had to go back to Nutro. Glad I did because he lost all the weight he gained. Even though it can be a little pricey compared to other foods, especially if you’re on a budget, it is totally worth it if your dog has weight management problems. Highly recommend this product.

I’ve been ordering the Nutro Wholesome Essentials dry dog food every few weeks for like the last year. Usually all goes well but this week shipping is late and today I had to go searching for my dogs food.To my surprise the packaging is new/different (wa water resistant material vs paper) and the actual kibbles look different in shape and way less dusty.So now I’m sitting here trying to gecide wether I’m going to continue ordering from here or not?

This is our choice for our dog with pancreatitis instead of outrageous vet prescribed food with awful ingredients, and he does great on it ! He is fit and healthy and zero flair ups since switching to this food, and he loves it. I am super happy with the ingredients, which is a huge deal for me and the fat and protein content works perfect for his diet restrictions.
