Cats sleep most of the day, about 16 hours. When they are awake they need to move around and exercise. In the wild, cats get their physical exercise from hunting. Inside cats receive their exercise from playing with toys that simulate prey. Play provides more than just exercise. Play also relieves anxiety, stress, and boredom. When indoor cats do not have toys to play with, that is when they supplement their playful instincts with anything they can find around the house; curtains, toes, shoe laces, etc. The OurPets RealBirds Collection encourages physical play and mental stimulation by appealing to your catās natural instincts. Your cat is ensured an instinct fulfilling play experience by providing them with a toy that has a tactile feel, an enticing RealBird sound, and a catnip scent.

3rd month review
Figured I would wait a few months to do a review on this bird. Yes, the cat loved it since day 1, but would it last? The answer is yes. Three months later the bird is still in great shape, still chirping, and fur hasnāt begun to degrade or fall off. This bird is perfect choice to buy for your cat. Yes, the price does seem a little steep for a toy that was probably assembled for 20 cents, but if itās a long lasting toy āthat gets played with on the dailyā, then the price seems to fade to the background. The sound effects isnāt as annoying as most electronic toys either. The only issue I have found with this bird is the feathers that are attached to the head and tail will shed off. The one I bought still has a couple feathers left, but I have found a few plucked red feathers around that have fallen off. I am not sure why this red bird has a cheaper price point than the other colors available. However, the red seems to be good enough for my cat. I highly doubt itās upset that I didnāt purchase the more expensive bird with green colors. Haha. Plus, when my cat watches real birds out the window, it tends to get even more excited when it spots cardinals in the yard. So the question is āwould I buy another one?ā ….Definitely!ā¦ā¦.((UPDATE))āā-> almost 2 years later now. And yes this bird is still chirping away. Canāt believe the battery is still working on it, but it is still going strong. Cats still dig it and still play with it all the time. Just figured I would come back and leave an update on this thing. I guess that explains the price. Now I know it was worth it.ā¦..Another ((UPDATE))ā->another year later! Aug.2024= I hadnāt thought about, remembered, or even seen this toy in many months. While sitting and watching tv lastnight I kept hearing some weird āchirpā noise. Not puzzled enough to care about what it was I just ignored it. Almost an hour gos by and I begin to hear the chirping again. Ok, what the h3II is it? As Iām about to get up to look around, I see my cat dart by with this bird toy in its mouth. Now listen, this thing looks beat up now. No feathers left, gnarly looking red fur more reminiscent of āMangeā, and the chirp sounds more like a ā¦*zzhurpā, way less energetic than it use to be. Butā¦. Itās still alive, and my cats are still hunting it down. So I just figured another edit to this review wouldnāt hurt to let everyone know itās still cardinal season in my house.

Engaging toy for cats
My cats love this toy. Between the feathers and squeaking/chirping sound, they play with this constantly!

He LOVES it!

Humans like it. Cat is ambivalent.
I think I a supercool cat toy. Cool sound effects. My cat is quite ambivalent her prefers harassing the dog. Dog occasionally plays with it but is a swallowing hazard for a large dog.

Better with catnip
This toy is nice. My cats do enjoy it, but I have to put cat nip on it by itself. Theyāre not very interested even though itās squeaks very realistically like a bird but with a little catnip, it becomes a very interesting toy to them. The durability is very good.

Entertaining interactive toy
For the price this little chirper is a deal.My kitten, Zoomie, has lots of toys and she really likes this one with the little chirps it makes.Only issue I had with this toy is beware and attentative of the toy and where it is at.One evening I heard this thing chirping watching TV. I knew Zoomie wasn’t playing with because I was the target of her attacks. Anyways I kept hearing the this chirping noise and it was annoying me… smoke alarm, CO2 detector, what is making this chirp noise.I didn’t think of this toy as I stated Zoomie was busy attacking me.Anyways I went on mission to find the source of this chirp noise and wasn’t considering this toy as the source.I found the source of the chirp, it was this toy. There wasn’t anything thing wrong with just it’s location where Zoomie left it.She left it right in front of the subwoofer for the tv soundboard. So every now and then that sub would hit and make this thing chirp! So if ya purchase this and hear random chirps, find this and see what is around that might be tripping the motion sensor.

Great for indoor cats with strong hunting instincts. Chirps when batted & leaves my cat satisfied.
This is second time I’ve purchased this toy for one of my cats. I had recently given him squeaking mice toys which he’s worn out & I thought he might appreciate a little variety & he does! This toy is sturdy & well-made, although I found one of its red feathers laying on the floor. But you have to understand, this cat is a professional HUNTER. No real experience LOL (he’s strictly indoor) but he’ll attack a roll of paper towels, toilet paper, old tea bags which he carries off like a half-dead mouse bouncing in his mouth. Want to hear the kicker? He’s particularly fond of one of my kids. Couldn’t figure out why most of his toys like this were left outside my kid’s bedroom door at night. Trying to think like a cat, it was obvious that he was leaving “gifts” from the day’s hunt at his favorite person’s “doorstep”.

Wish it would chirp more. Cleo is bored with it already
Itās small but not an issue really. Issue is she wonāt touch it she gets so bored so easily bc it barely tweets. Tried many cat toys, cat nip, different foods, balls, cat lazer & cat houses & cardboard box with cutouts & all she wants to do is eat and sleep. I even tried six bottles of pheromones plugged in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen for the last few months and I donāt notice a difference. Needs better sound quality bc sheās interested at first. Itās a cute bird Iām thinking about rubbing it and catnip, and then giving it to her so she can understand that when she touches it, she can make the bird noises. Sheās not that bright. If things change, Iāll give an updated review.

Delivery on time , well packaged .I had purchased a red one of these a while ago and because it was so much fun for Lil , the cat , I thought I’d get her this second one ‘just because’.I probably have just as much fun watching her bat it around the floor as she does playing with them both. The little ‘squeak’ that they make is not irritating but loud enough for me to hear from another room .The birds are quite sturdy and have only dropped one small feather from the first red bird purchased.Lil really seems to enjoy these toys and the comparative price is usually about $2 in either direction. Getting it delivered to the door is priceless.I definitely recommend this cat toy for it’s quality , enjoyment ( both feline and human) , pricing .
