Sturdy & Entertaining for a 3 Month Old Boxer Puppy
This is a fun puzzle for our 3 month old Boxer puppy who weights about 18 pounds. We ordered a Level 1 puzzle that we ended up returning because it was too easy for him and he figured it out right away. This is nice and sturdy, he does try to chew on it a little since he’s a teething puppy, but it’s holding up great. The pieces are all attached, so unless he goes crazy at some point, they are all still intact. He has been able to complete it, but it still entertains him and keeps him busy. I put some of his kibble and pieces of his treats in it. We are using it mostly to help him love his kennel for kennel training, so it’s a little big for that, but we aren’t shutting him in with it, just putting it inside with the door open.

Nina Ottosson makes the best puzzles!
This is a great one for our pup, it was just hard enough that she needed to think & try different things, but not too hard to frustrate her. I learned to always monitor a bit, when they play with the puzzles, and I take it away when I’m not putting treats in it (I actually just use kibble, it’s a way for her to eat some of her meals). Great fun for both of us.The puzzles come ranked in difficulty, and with each puzzle itself you can increase the difficulty (they come with instructions how to layer the difficulty).I was thinking of taking one star off, because the white bone cup shapes are inviting for the dogs to chew on: this happened to me, and also a friend. It requires monitoring & not letting them chew too much. But – these puzzles are so well made and provide great engagement for your dog, it is a 5 star product.

Durable and good quality
Durable and keeps my dog intrigued. Good sniffing toy. Some of the lids my dog chewed on but I was able to still reattach them so she could reuse it another time. The only thing disappointing was that it was over in 10 minutes and then she just wanted to chew the plastic pieces after she found her treats.

Great toy for our puppy
We got a new puppy and needed it away to keep him interested as he gets bored pretty quickly with other types of toys. This was a great idea! Not only are there lots of places to hide the food. The pieces come off and those become true toys as well. As you can see our puppy figured it out and still enjoys playing with it weeks later. It’s a good way for us to feed him, as well as a good toy to keep him entertained. On average, he would finish his food in about five minutes. With this, it takes him at least 20×30 to find all the food. But he’s a puppy, so he gets distracted easily And that affects the timing as well. That still doesn’t change my ranking for this I still think this is an amazing product and would absolutely order it again.

Puppy loves this!
I just got this and not only stimulating for my puppy its adorable!I was looking for something to keep him stimulated between walks, and this puzzle toy really delivers. The rotating layers are easy enough for him to figure out, but the bone covers add just the right amount of challenge to keep things interesting. I have only tried with treats, but will try with his kibble to slow down his eating! I appreciate that it’s made from safe, non-toxic materials.

Great for Slowing Down Mealtime and Keeping My Dog Engaged
I’ve been using this puzzle since my dog was a puppy (she’s 3 now), and while it has a lot of positive aspects, there are a few things that could be improved.Pros:Slows Down Mealtime: This puzzle is perfect for slowing down my dog while she eats. Instead of inhaling her food in seconds, it makes her work for her treats, which is great for digestion and mental stimulation.Keeps My Dog Entertained: My dog really enjoys solving this puzzle. It keeps her engaged for a good while, and I love that it provides a healthy outlet for her energy and curiosity. She has to figure out how to lift flaps and slide pieces to get to the food.Cons:The White “Bone” Pieces Are a Mess: I didn’t like how the little white bone-shaped pieces keep falling out of the puzzle. They just go everywhere, and after a few uses, I decided to throw them out entirely. It was more hassle than it was worth to keep them.Flaps Are Easy for My Dog to Pull Off: My dog quickly figured out how to pull off the top flaps that cover the treat compartments. While I can still use the puzzle without the flaps, it was frustrating at times when she would easily rip them off, especially during the early stages of using it.Durability Issues with Chewing: When my dog was a puppy, she chewed one of the puzzle pieces, which caused a little bit of damage. While you can still use everything, I wasn’t thrilled about the chewing. So, if you have a dog prone to chewing, be cautious about leaving them unattended with this puzzle.Takes a While to Dry: It’s great that this puzzle is dishwasher-safe, but it does take quite a while to dry completely, especially in the compartments where the treats go. You’ll need to let it sit for a bit before using it again, which is a little inconvenient when you’re in a hurry.Overall Thoughts: The Outward Hound Nina Ottosson Dog Brick Puzzle has definitely earned its place in my dog’s enrichment rotation. It’s fantastic for slowing down mealtime and providing her with some mental stimulation, which is especially important for high-energy dogs. However, the white bone pieces were a hassle, and the flaps didn’t hold up well for my dog. Still, it’s a fun and useful puzzle overall, and I’ll continue to use it in the mix with her other toys.

Smart dogs need more difficulty
My dog loved this puzzle! It only took her a few minutes to figure it out. It keeps her busy for maybe 5 minutes. If you have a smart dog, definitely get one with a high difficulty. The product was great & shown as pictured!

Excellent feeder to keep a senior dog active
Nellie was 14 when I got this to keep her old brain active, and she used it twice a day for a little more than two years with no signs of wear. I’m sure she would have chewed it up if I had given it to her in her puppy years, but she wasn’t much of a chewer when I got it for her, so it was her all-day meal and snack tray, keeping her active to the end. Among its advantages are that the kibble didn’t get scattered around the house and the feeder never got lost, as with the rolling feeders.Excellent durability, noise level, value, and size (big enough for her cup of kibble at each meal).

Really well made and durable. Our Aussie Shepherd 3 month old puppy loves it even though he worked it all out nearly immediately. We still set it up for him even though he races through it. Very impressed with the brand and we have since purchased more difficult puzzles from the same line.
